trenken
Some bass solos are extremely awesome, but usually those guys are solo studio musicians, like Vic Wooten, Jaco, Pattituci, Geddy has never had the technical chops those guys have had. Geddy got a lot of recognition because he was a very good bassist in a real band, which you dont see all that often. Zep had it, so did the Who, and both of their bassists are also very famous. But relative to some guys out there who are solo bassists, they can spin circles around Geddy all day and Geddy would be the first to admit that, and its sometimes exciting to watch them solo for 5 minutes or whatever. I dont think Id like to see Geddy up there doing that Driven stuff he does playing chords and his funk style for that long. Its ok for 30 seconds though.
