The closest I ever came to having a connection to a venue/artist was this guy I used to hang out with who had a crush on a friend of mine. He wanted to look big in front of her so he said "You know USB, I can get you backstage passes to see Rush. But I'm not going to because I would have to call in a favor which I'm saving for <some band I've never heard of>".
