This show is 10 minutes from my house. This will be the one I am attending for this tour. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/atickhum.gif

Went VIP for this show as well as Manchester. Tried to get in in the first couple of minutes - we'll see where that gets us.

Hope we cross paths, Tick! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/bekloppt.gif

That would be cool! I have never seen a concert at this venue, but its small. I have seen hockey games there. It should be a great place to see the band. Not a bad seat in the house! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif

I found the following place as a possibility to meet up and have some food/drink before the show. Take a look and let us know what you think.

"Combines the old with the new"? Sounds perfect for the steampunk Rush concept!

Looks like a lovely place, and nice and close to the venue. Count the two of us in! Mind if I suggest it to people on Facebook as well?

I like this venue. Its a 10 minute drive from my front door. I guess they just wanted to do something new? I'll bet the roadies are not thrilled.

Where are all the people going to the Bridgeport show?

Whats the matter, don't you want to be shot or stabbed to death at a Rush concert? http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/confused13.gif

Seriously though folks. Just don't wind up in the wrong parts of this city. That meetup place should be very cool. Downtown is a good area to be in.

http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/z7shysterical.gif I wanted to comment on Bridgeport's high crime rate as well, but you beat me to it ol' bean! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif

Seriously, though...be CAREFUL everybody http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/unsure.gif

In fairness, New Haven and Hartford have higher crime rates. The bottom line is, you need to be aware of where you are in any major city or you can find yourself in trouble.

Wish you were going to be there Tark! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif

I am in, 14th row on Al's side http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif

I will try and get there as well.

I'm stoked because I didn't buy the VIP tix (not gonna pay unless I know where I'm gonna sit) and got something 25-30 rows back at the next price level. But then, I got an email changing me to Row 4 for free. It's not perfect because it's close to the far side away from the stage, but I'll still be closer to Geddy than I've ever been before.

This is hilarious. I was bummed about not being able to see Rush in Bridgeport seeing as I moved from there last year. My company is having a shutdown the week of Oct 8 and I decided I'm driving to Connecticut to see my friends and family. Then I remembered this show! I'm going to be in CT during the rush concert that I wanted to go to, and now can't... Wtf http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Hello all,

I am VERY new to this forum, the forum i belonged to a while ago is now defunct and i have not 'landed' anywhere...

I have been a RUSH fan for 30+ years and have waited many a year for them to play somewhere as close to where i live as Bridgeport...

I have lived in Fairfield County most of my life but don't know much about Brideport..

but i did find these they look promissing, but i have NO idea about any of them:

- Barnum Public House

- Brennan's Shebeen - the BRIDGEPORT location

- The Metric

Barnum Public House is about .5 miles from the arena.

The Shebeen is about 2.7 miles from the arena.

The Metric is about .7 miles from the arena

Given my affinity for GREAT Irish Pubs my guess is i will START at The Shebeen for a Guinness or two then make my way to the Public House, and walk from there to the show.

Show is at 7:30 doors are probably at 6:30, that would put me at the Public house between 430 and 6, and shebeen 3 to 430 or so.

ANYONE?!?!? comments, questions, sound good, better ideas?

look forward to seeing and meeing new RUSH people in my area.

Hey, stephen! I remember you from "said forum". It's actually back online but it's dead.

Not going to the CT show, just wanted to say "hey" and have a great time. Lau (bostonrush) I know will be there with Tray and I'm sure they'll be tons of other people you'll know. =]

hey, thanks for the shout out...

i heard some of the folks from the old forum would be here in Bridgeport...

hope all is well...

should be a great show, it's an awesome venue...

Yeah, for me, had to cut it somewhere. And, hate to sound like a guy who's past his prime (even though I am that guy), but my days of driving 3 plus hours each way for a midweek show are probably behind me.

If it was opening night, we'd probably go down and stay, but as it is we're headed up to TO next weekend, so I guess that's the line.

Ugh - don't you hate it when you realize you're what you used to call "too old"?
