Ok you may or may not know, but I'm not much of a Floyd fan, but I do like David Gilmour's guitar playing. And with the new box set for beginners out I thought fuckk it and splashed out for a copy!

 

Don't get the idea that this means I'm a Floyd fan all of a sudden!

 

But now at least I'll be able to get the song titles right when I slag them off!

 

 

And now to finish with the usual ceremony...

"THE DISCOVERY BOX" looks interesting but there really is nothing new.

 

I have a ton of the Japanese mini sleeve remastered PF sets.

 

Does the new remaster really sound worth buying over again?

 

The only thing I will buy is that incredible looking "DARK SIDE" BOX with Blu-Rays and lots of stuff!!

 

When will all of the Rush catalog get the remaster treatment again?

 

Perhaps they will include "Vapor Trails" this time around yet it will still sound like shit.

They also have special edition Immersion Wish You Were Here and The Wall box sets coming out soon so keep on the lookout for those.

Pink Floyd are awesome! I haven't heard too many of their songs tbh, but i really like them.

Other than Rush and a few other exeptions, all i listen to is metal. Sooo..

 

Metal as in the good, classic metal.. Not the horrible sell out crap we have today.

Exactly, with a few exceptions (Deftones,early Korn,System of a Down), I can't stand the "nu metal" that's dominated since the late 90s. Old school metal for me.

 

Doesn't surprise me that metalheads love PF. I can hear the Gilmour playing style influence in many guitar solos in old metal music.

I can't keep up with the remasters of Floyd.   Tonight I put on my Japan pressing gold 24K MFSL cds and they sounded great even though I had to turn the volume up more.   I just don't get it.   The Discovery Box in Japan is actually pressed in Japan but they also have a Japanese DARK SIDE Box with all of the Blu-Rays yet everything inside the box is made in the EU.   I'm trying to kick my habit here and not buy any of the new shit.   I went off on the Japanese Beatles remasters boxes but I just have to pass for now on the Floyd shit.   It's been remastered like three or four times now.     Maybe I am finally growing up.   There is a deluxe QUADROPHENIA box set coming out too. Killing me man.   It looks EPIC!!   T-Shirt included!       Not.   I saw Saxon last night in some shitty Santa Clara Club.
