adace1 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Faustian Echoes is streaming: http://agalloch.bandcamp.com/track/faustian-echoes
Nate2112 Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 Listening to "Faustian Echoes" now, I love it but It doesn't sound like Agalloch at ALL.
adace1 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 QUOTE (Nate2112 @ Jun 26 2012, 01:15 PM) Listening to "Faustian Echoes" now, I love it but It doesn't sound like Agalloch at ALL. I know what you mean. It seemed like they were gradually shifting away from metal on MotS, but then they turn around and record what is pretty much their heaviest, most aggressive song yet. I'm interested to see what the next album has in store.
beherit Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 QUOTE (Nate2112 @ Jun 26 2012, 01:15 PM) Listening to "Faustian Echoes" now, I love it but It doesn't sound like Agalloch at ALL. Sign of a great band is constant evolution! I love the new EP.
t2s Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 f**k, I'm excited... disappointed I can't see them this July though. Faustian Echoes kicks ass!
beherit Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Yeah, they're playing Atlanta but I'm not 21, so I can't get in

adace1 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 "AGALLOCH will release their glorious fifth full-length album "The Serpent & The Sphere" on May 13th (North America)." SO excited for this!!! 2
Steevo Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 "AGALLOCH will release their glorious fifth full-length album "The Serpent & The Sphere" on May 13th (North America)." SO excited for this!!! I hope it's way better than the last.
bathory Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 yeah i enjoyed marrow of the spirit but its definitely their worst
bathory Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 unless you mean faustian echoes, i liked it alright
Steevo Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 unless you mean faustian echoes, i liked it alright Didn't do anything for me, guess I prefer the earlier albums.
bathory Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 they're putting out the same record over and over, just getting a bit more boring with each one. the mantle and pale folklore are my favorites
ColdFireYYZ Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 The only albums I have are The Mantle and Ashes Against the Grain, both of which I love. I'll probably end up getting the new one when it comes out, along with Pale Folklore.
adace1 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 New song! http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/16772-agalloch-celestial-effigy/ I definitely like it. Very Pale Folklore-esque. The cover art is great too.
Steevo Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 New song! http://pitchfork.com...lestial-effigy/ I definitely like it. Very Pale Folklore-esque. The cover art is great too. Best news I've had in a while (if it's back to their roots), will get onto it soon, thanks adace!
Steevo Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 ^ They've done much better works but at least this falls back onto their strengths and is certainly in the ballpark. I await the new album with much hope.
Nate2112 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 See, Agalloch has gotten to a point that all I hear in their music is the folksy repetitivness that was on every album except Ashes and Faustian Echoes. They REALLY need to go back to that era.
adace1 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 You can hear "Dark Matter Gods" here: http://www.invisibleoranges.com/2014/04/io-on-evr-playlist-and-archived-stream-from-4292014/ 1
Steevo Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Now THAT is sounding more like the Agalloch I know and love, thankyou Adace!! :) I'm so primed for the new album :D-13: 1
