I don't pay attention to what these guys play confused13.gif I just know it sounds good.

Incidentally, Sam tells me he got this guitar because the Alice Cooper group used the same one. confused13.gif

And the reason I bought mine, Mr. Pete Townshend

Unfortunately I no longer have mine. I sold it to buy a Strat. Poor choice now that it is worth way more now. It was a great guitar for me when I was a teen. I learned a lot playing that guitar. It was a bit of a monster because someone had replaced the original tailpiece so there were two empty screw holes in the face. Still, I only paid $375 for it in 1981. It was 10 years old at the time. It had mini double coils on it.

Sweet! I guess he made a good choice then.?

This, however is not an SG, but an EDS-1275. They are made of the same materials. Yes it has similar cutaways, but they are not double neck SGs. So there. http://www.everythingsg.com/celebs/jimmypage1.jpg

SGs were originally called Les Pauls when they first appeared in 1959 but Les had an issue with them because they weren't the guitar he designed. In 1960 the name was changed to SG which stands for Solid Guitar (ES stands for Electric Spanish). The EDS-1275 first appeared in 1958 before the Les Paul/SG.
