Sir Lerxst
I like the canned stuff so long as it is decent quality and not some supermarket 'own brand'.

Spindrift
When we first got married and had a $45 a week grocery budget we would eat this at least twice a week: Tuna mixed with mac & cheese with a can of drained peas stirred in. It fed our family of 6 many many times. Surprisingly, we still make it on occasion (if the kids are staying home for a while) and they all still like it. Ah, memories of college days (minus the peas)! Helps if you're a salt-o-holic like me! Speaking of tuna and salt, here's an easy recipe for one of the saltiest things I ever made - Tasty Tuna Dip: 1 6 oz. can tuna in water, drained, flaked 1 1 oz. envelope Italian salad dressing mix 1 8 oz. tub sour cream 1/4 cup chopped black olives, drained Have water handy. Honestly, i can't bring myself to even look at some "Shop - Owned Brands". Would rather pay the extra for quality (???) stuff. As for tuna, nearest decent fishmonger is 12 miles away, and can't always guarantee availability or freshness so i seldom bother.
