I am totally pumped Rush fans!!!

Rush and Blue Oyster Cult are both playing on Sunday night on June 26th!

Of course they aren't playing together but BOC is at the local Alameda County Fair. Bloom and company will be playing at 6 pm and at 8 pm for free.

I will be taking the wife and girls to the fair for some fun and then to the 6 pm show! Zoe and Skylar have both seen Rush and now they will get to see the great Blue Oyster Cult.

At 7 pm sharp we are out of there to drive back to Concord.

We will drop the girls off with my mother in law and then we go straight to Rush at the Concord Pavilion!!!

What a double bill in 2011!

"Don't Fear The Reaper" Rush Fans, our musical genre is still very much alive and kicking!!!!

That's a combo that I would like to see in the same day also or in consecutive days also. I'll be in LV for the Rush show and general activities that weekend. Let me see if I can predict the BOC setlist. Of course, a big factor is the allotted time for the set. Here it goes:

The Red and the Black

Golden Age of Leather

Burnin for You

Cities on Flame

Shooting Shark

Buck's Boogie

Last Days of May

Godzilla

Don't Fear the Reaper

Encore: Hot Rails to Hell (Richie C on vocals)

Most sets these days consist of no more than two Bloom songs and sometimes only one. If you run into a big burly white haired fella named Bob and his thin delightful British wife Karen, please tell them that Dr. Phil says hi.

I hope that you great evening!

I hope that you have a great evening! I need to check my posts more carefully.

It's all good my friend! Thanks for the heads up! I will keep my eyes open for Bob and Karen.

I wish I could stay for both shows. I will let you know how close you are to your set list prediction! Nice selection!

Hey, I hope that I actually have "SOME ENCHANTED EVENING!" LOL!

Soft White Underbelly RULES!

That's awesome! Two great bands in one night 1022.gif

BOC is one of my favorite bands. I just finished listening to Mirrors a few minutes ago actually. Its growing on me. I saw them in February but Bloom wasn't at the show so I'll have to catch them again sometime.

Right on dude!! Me too! Love BOC!! "Mirrors" is one of the most underrated records in the world!

"The Vigil" rules!

Some Enchanted Evening indeed Earl!

I am predicting The Golden Age since they have been playing it lately and I heard in LV in Feb. Since they are playing two sets, it is possible that The Vigil might appear in one of them.

"Raise your can of beer on high

And seal your fate forever

Our best years have passed us by

The Golden Age of Leather"

As far as I know they're not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) and they aren't a pop band. They had a bunch of eighties albums but most of their stuff is from the 70's. You've probably heard some of their hits - Don't Fear The Reaper, Burnin' For You, and Godzilla. Great band. I'd check out Agents of Fortune, Cultosaurus Erectus, and Fire of Unknown Origin.

I'd love to see them play a good long-ass "Astronomy" Every show I've seen of theirs, we get Then Came the Last Days of May.

I agree with that. Out of all the times that I have seen them play, I have only heard Astronomy played twice. At least LDOM has two kickass guitar solos from Richie and Buck so it's still good for me but Astronomy would be nice to hear again.

If Rush still had an opening act again (not likely though), I'd like to see them with BOC. I wish I was around when they toured together. Must have been a great show.

Saw BOC in Kansas City in 1986 when they opened for Rush.

Awesome show but it could have used more cowbell.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if this mis-assumption has anything to do with the Blue Oyster Bar which was the gay bar in the first Police Academy.

Yes, they certainly did. I wonder if it was on that tour where the Rush crew played a classic joke by replacing the lead in to Godzilla with "Hello, I'm Mister Ed". That was a classic moment in music history that I would like to have seen in person.

After looking at some of these photos, I am starting to wonder myself rofl3.gif. Of course, Geddy's mullet and some of Alex's suits from that era were no prizes either.

Wow Stan! You might be onto something!!

What year were these taken?

The 80's killed a lot of metal.

"Video Killed The Radio Star" as well.
