RUSHHEAD666 Posted March 25, 2011 Share Posted March 25, 2011 Normally I wouldn't share this stuff as I am sure some of you will rip me a new asshole for changing lyrics to a Rush song but it truly is for the greater good. My 14 year old daughter has been playing on a Gold year round soccer team ever since she was 9 years old. At the end of each season we have the very important State Cup in Northern California. Well it's this weekend so I had to continue my tradition with the parents on Zoe's soccer team. I take a song every season and change the lyrics to motivate the team. Usually it's a song by Y&T, or ABBA or some other band, but this year we haven't been playing well so I had to dig out a Rush song for more motivation! Here it is for all of you Rush Fans to see. My daughter plays for the Walnut Creek Dynamos so I chose "Spirit Of Radio" and changed the title to "SPIRIT OF DYNAMOS." Hope you enjoy it. If you hate it please don't post. Played it for ten years myself and now my daughter is a starting center back for an elite gold team in Walnut Creek and wants to play college. The good Rush Karma only lasted for a day. The Dynamos had a 1-0 lead with 15 minutes left and melted down with stupid penalties and fouls. A free kick sailed in front of the net and out of all the chaos the opponent kicked it in. Tie game. 1-1 That was the final. The Spirits were able to move on thanks to goal differential. They scored 9 goals we scored 8. They gave up no goals on Saturday and we gave up one. I take this stuff too serious and I've been writing rally songs for this team for years! Usually we go to the Elite 8 and Final 4 every year and then tank. This is the first year we are out in the first round. I will admit openly that I am depressed. Hey what are Forums for? I feel better already!
