I do, as Necro sez. I train in Karate, BJJ, Combat Hapkido, Boxing and am messing around with Sambo. I also teach Youth Karate at a local do-jang.

I used to compete in submission grappling (NAGA and local stuff) but I'm 46 and the injuries forced me to give that up. I am still involved in breaking and broke six 2" concrete slabs at a contest last year.

Anyone actually fighting?

Boxing, karate, tae kwon do, judo, Cumberland wrestling, street-fighting.

What's Cumberland wrestling?

It's a Northern England tradition. More puffing and panting than anything else, sort of like Sumo but you have to stay in the ring and put opponent on canvas not push opponent out. Last man on the canvas wins.

Pretty cool. I like that it starts from a clinch.

One of my best friends trains in Krav Maga down in DC. It is very similar to Combat Hapkido in that it aggragates techniques from many sources and is pragmatic (no forms or Kata in Krav Maga). His do-jang doesn't even use belts. They have levels of patches or something.

He and I were talking about Combat Hapkido and Krav Maga. They share a great many joint locks, strikes and throws. Krav Maga uses more on offensive techniques and focuses much more on incapacitation. There is no emphasis on things like break-away or compliant escorts in Krav Maga. The Israelis don't mess around.

Here is a short video of Combat Hapkido that someone put on YouTube.

The founder of Combat Hapkido, John Pellegrini, is show in the video. His seminars are amazing. It is humbling that a guy in his 60s who I outweight by 70 pounds can drop me with a single finger.

Watch Roger Gracie. Next to Rickson, he will be the best all time.
