Deadline day was a dud for the most part.

Minor leaguers and bubble boys. Nothing more. Looks like all the teams are either happy where they are or couldn't get enough in the trade that they asked for. As far as the B's are concerned, I still would have liked to see either a playmaking center or Rick Nash. He would have been a great fit in Boston.

The Bruins don't have nearly enough space for Nash's $7.8 million cap hit. They have virtually no cap space at all, actually. They would have had to gut the team to pull it off. Plus Nash has an NMC, though he might have waived it to go to a contender. Still, Nash to Boston just wasn't going to happen.

Not really surprised that there wasn't much activity on deadline day considering all that's happened in the last few weeks.

Too bad Montreal didn't try to shore up a bit, they really needed it.

They are like My Padres - Annually they fail to pick up the one person that will put them over the top and it's the same old story either barely miss the playoffs or get beat up in the later rounds - banghead.gif

So much for your master plan hawkie...

Niemi signs four-year extension with Sharks

We don't need Niemi.

Crawford is playing better than Niemi did when he was here.

2010-2011 Crawford to date:

SV% .923

GAA 2.13

W: 23 L: 12 OT:3

2009-2010 Niemi

SV% .9.12

GAA 2.25

W: 26 L: 7 OT:4

Considering that Keith and Seabrook are not playing at the level that they were last season, I'd say Crawford is doing quite well. yes.gif

this week is probably the biggest week of the season yet.

Tonight they start a 7 game road trip at MSG against the 7th place Rangers and thursday they play the 8th place Canes.

After giving Seabrook $5.8 million a year, fing.gif we were never going to come close to what Niemi got anyway... eh.gif
