lerxt1990
When I visited Lake Placid and went into the arena, it was like entering a shrine. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

I remember watchign this live. It was like everyone in America having their home team win the World Series, Super Bowl, NBA Championship and Stanley Cup all at once. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/yes.gif Goose bumps watching that again. Mara
I think everyone was a hockey fan that night. Remember, the Soviet team had beaten NHL teams prior to the Olympics. Bigger, more experienced, arguably more talented and with all the resources of The Big Red Machine. I've always wondered from time to time what became of that particular group of Russian players. The Machine was not usually kind to its losers.
MULTIPLIED REACTION
QUOTE (Mara @ Feb 22 2010, 09:00 PM) I think everyone was a hockey fan that night. Remember, the Soviet team had beaten NHL teams prior to the Olympics. Bigger, more experienced, arguably more talented and with all the resources of The Big Red Machine. I've always wondered from time to time what became of that particular group of Russian players. The Machine was not usually kind to its losers. They were banished to Cleveland.
