Cygnalschick
Hi everyone I'm doing a study abroad program through my school here in Monterrey for the month of june. Spanish is my minor and I'm trying to become as fluent as possible. So far I'm really having a good time. Has anyone visited Monterrey before? Any stories, advice, recommendations, etc? Hasta Luego! -D-RocK-
Remember: If you hear loud, continious popping, it's not a car backfiring.......it's a gun battle in progress. Be advised to stay clear.
Cygnalschick
Actually this city is pretty safe. But of course I'm not planning on going anywhere alone Yes, it is cool being submerged in a new culture, but also difficult at times.... like last night when my roommate and I ordered a pizza (she volunteered ME to do the talking ) I was pretty sure I had successfully ordered it, but then the lady started asking me questions and I couldn't understand her. That was kind of nerve-wrecking Otherwise, I'd say I'm becoming quite the spanish speaker Rolinda- Monterrey is about 2/3 hours from the Texas border. It's sister city is Laredo.
