condemned2bfree
Has anyone seen 'Brass eye' or the 'Day today'? Its a spoof comedy that parodies soundbite style news. Its not for the faint of heart or the easily offended. The guy behind it, Chris Morris is a big rush fan, and had Ged and Neil (no Alex?) as the camera men in the credits of an episode. He also played tsor in one. Here are some of the more easily digestible quotes From the episode drugs It stimulates the part of the brain called "Shatner's Bassoon" and that's the bit of the brain that deals with time perception. So, a second feels like a month. Well, it almost sounds like fun...unless you're the Prague schoolboy who walked out into the street straight in front of a tram. He thought he'd got a month to cross the street." Another, from crime I think A high court trail using the latest genetic techniques has found a defendant's DNA guilty this afternoon. The evidence showed that the nucleic acid which encodes the body's structure and behaviour had caused the man to become a robber. Passing sentence the judge said the man was free to go but ordered that his DNA be confiscated and imprisoned in a special cell. It got into some trouble for a few episodes that it did. Anyone remmeber the Cake episodes or the paedophilia one where he had Phil Collins talkine "Nonce - Sense" - absolue classic TV which caused outrage from people who hadn;t actually watched. Fridge
Classic I used to love this. We need more stuff like this nowadays. It seems the media are too scared to offend anyone at the moment.
Hatchetaxe&saw
Genius. Pure genius. And it gave birth to Alan Partridge. The reaction to some of the Brass Eye episodes was worrying though. What is Chris Morris doing nowadays?
condemned2bfree
QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Jul 20 2007, 11:14 AM) Genius. Pure genius. And it gave birth to Alan Partridge. The reaction to some of the Brass Eye episodes was worrying though. What is Chris Morris doing nowadays? Chris was acting in the I.T. Crowd on channel four, never saw it myself. What was it like, anyone see it? Just found this http://media.guardian.co.uk/site/story/0,,2037600,00.html I don't think it will be a comedy, what do you reckon? Partridge is just class. The first series is up there with the greats like fawlty towers and for me it surpasses it. Its comedy perfection. Jurassic park Alan as a friend: You work in a petrol station, Michael. It's not the Gulf War. Which ironically is like a large petrol station. Alan as a radio dj: That was Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell, a song in which Joni complains they 'Paved paradise to put up a parking lot', a measure which actually would have alleviated traffic congestion on the outskirts of paradise, something which Joni singularly fails to point out, perhaps because it doesn't quite fit in with her blinkered view of the world. Nevertheless, nice song. Partridge = sheer genius
