If Hugh Syme wasn't available to do the next

So the scenario is no Hugh Syme. Any ideas for good replacement? Who would you choose to take over. Is the a favorite album cover designer/artist out there that you like? Does it matter? maybe just get anybody to do it? Maybe a local pal of the band?

Any thoughts?

That is funny Pat!

I actually typed Roger Dean into my little white box and then I thought the same thing and erased it!

I love the "IF" thing. The biggest word in the English Dictionary.

Hugh Syme is the best.

Am I bias?

Maybe.

But I really don't care!

I walked into a Best Buy a month ago and I see in the new release rack the album by "Stone Sour."

Never heard of the band but I gaze into the cover and I know like "one sniff of the hydrant" that Hugh did the cover.

Damn he is good!

I love all his work.

I own a ton of Andrew MacNaugtan prints as well. Some are signed by the band and him, some are not, but that is in the photography end of it.

If Hugh couldn't do the new cover and Andrew did, would it be the first cover with a cool photograph of the band on the front?

I love the inner sleeve of "Grace Under Pressure."

Great picture.

That is something that is beyond cool that most never would think of except us!

Not only are RUSH first class musicians but they also have the best in the business around them!

MacNaughtan and Syme!!

The Five Genius Band.

Sincerely,

The Ben Mink 6

I'd say whoever did Geddy's "My Favorite Headache" artwork. I liked it pretty well.

It was Hugh Syme...

No it was a different artist. I think it was a company called "Fuel".

That picture inside of P/G was taken by the late photographer Yousuf Karsh.

That is excellent knowledge!

Fooled again!

I bought a print of that shot off of the MacNaugtan site, simply being lazy and thinking it was done by Andrew!

Again thanks for clarifying!

I may be a RUSHHEAD but I sure as hell don't know everything.

Now I know why I joined this Forum.

I need some fine tuning!

Cheers!

Earl

I remember they were a little concerned that the karsh potrait was too much of a close-up bare bones and unenhanced warts-and-all photo shot. Notice how the pics on the follow up Power Windows cover are glossy, colourful and most likely airbrushed...
