  3. There's really a lot of great posting going on in this thread, and it's nice to know that there's a few more people like me around here! I can really understand what some of you are talking about Christian music. While I respect and admire the fact that these people are out there doing their thing, it just doesn't appeal to me at all. I like one Christian band, and that is Third Day. If there is anyone out there who knows about these guys, they are really special. I would describe them as a Christian Pearl Jam without the harder edge vocally. Does that even make sense? Anyways, if anyone is interested they are a really good rock band with a fantastic message. I understand where a lot of you are coming from though, you can only listen to so much music about the exact same thing. That's not to say that religious music is bad or thoughtless, its just that tastewise, I can't take very much of it.
  4. Well, I'll be honest here. I'm a born again Christian. While no one here has said anything that I really find offensive, I do feel the need to put in my two cents. First off, I don't buy any of the Rush having any involvement in the Satanic realm. The Starman, 2112, COS, and even Rush standing for anything is just stupid. I'll be the first to admit that religious fanatics have really gone over the top to "sell" that rock music is just the worst thing that anyone can be involved with. It's the same people that tried to tell us that AC/DC stood for Anti Christ Devil's Children, or that KISS stands for Knights In Satan's Service. It's all ridiculous really. What I find strange is that more times than not, its the religious community making the fuss about things while the musicians rarely have any negative comments either way. I don't think people understand that you can have a balance. I used to be into some heavy stuff, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and what not, stuff that may not be "satanic" still had a message that I grew uncomfortable with after making my decision to follow Christ. I don't listen to any of the stuff that I grew to just not appreciate anymore. On the other hand, I'm not saying that people who do listen to that music have spiritual issues they need to work on, its just a matter of taste and what you're comfortable with. I still love Rush and many other artists and bands that don't compromise or outwardly reject my beliefs and I certainly believe that just because one is a Christian doesn't mean that they can only listen to religious music. There's certainly enough good music out there that doesn't have an overly religious tone that is thought provoking and often moving... anyone?
  5. I believe there are three Gold Rush CD's floating around. 2112 and Moving Pictures are the most rare of the three and will cost you a pretty penny. Signals however is fairly easy to find if you just do the leg work. I found Signals at a used CD store here for like 15 bucks a couple years ago. RUSHHEAD, you hit it right on the nail about "Losing It". Absolutely my favorite Rush tune from my favorite record. A minor stroke wouldn't do it for me if they pulled this one out, they'd have to call the hearse...
