Most of you will remember him as Pa Kent in the 1978 'Superman' film, but his body of work was a lot more extensive. My favorite of his roles was as Admiral Spruance in 'Midway'. RIP, sir. Here is his IMDB page.

Good, solid, reliable actor. He didn't have the charisma or star quality of say a James Stewart, but he always gave good value and was convincing in his roles. I've seen him in numerous films on TV over the years. I wouldn't have been exactly RUSHing (pun pun) to see his films but I'd say he was one of those guys that if I was for instance thinking of watching a film on TV on a quiet Saturday afternoon, I might see his name listed in the cast and go "oh Glenn Ford's in it, oh go on then I'll watch it..." you get me? One of those guys, solid...

RIP Glenn...

I wouldn't have even guessed he was still alive. A nice, long life.
