Bastille Night
I LOVE the taste of many different beers, wines, and liquors, and I really enjoy getting drunk. I usually drink once or twice a week to a really good buzz level (for me that is a bottle of wine plus a few beers....I'm a moderately big guy, and my tolerance is pretty high I guess). I tend to steer clear of liquor most of the time, because that is the stuff that can create blackouts for me.....that's something I DON'T like. This is pretty normal behaviour in my circle of friends and family, so I guess that's why I feel comfortable with it. I wouldn't say that anyone close to me is an alcoholic (although many of us probably are, according some of the clinical definitions that I've seen). Even when I've stayed up until 2am drinking like a fish, I'm up with the kids at 7am, and I've never missed a day or been hungover at work. So, I figure I'll keep this behaviour up until I feel that it's a problem.....or if it becomes less enjoyable But as I mentioned before.....I love getting drunk every so often. Losing inhibitions can be a really fun thing (caveat: I'm a happy drunk. I would feel differently about this if I was an angry/mean/abusive drunk.....I have seen a few of these, and it ain't pretty!). ....and my wife doesn't drink, so I always have a DD! You all probably think I'm a raging alcohalic now.. I would have more respect for you if you were a raging alcoholic. I have nothing but contempt for people who are merely raging alcohalics. I wasn't drunk when I wrote that... I was still at work. I just ain't a very good speller...

I participated in the hijacking. So, back on track. Alcohol in its many forms usually tastes pretty good to me. I don't drink often, but when I do, I keep a slight buzz going, and that's about it. (Oh, and anyone who was with me in Cali just ZIP IT. Thank you. ) I like beer if it's good, and I don't get much of that here in Alabama. I have depended on the kindness of good friends who ship me nice presents occasionally and otherwise I make do with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Cosmopolitans are my favorite mixed drink. There. I don't drink much but when I do I drink just enough to get me a lil head cap I totally LOVE the taste of Samuel Adams Boston Lager though, as far as taste goes that's one of my favorite domestic beers. floydfanatic111
I got drunk once in July of 2000 after drinking SIX 12 oz bottles of Budweiser thinking I was Stone Cold Steve Austin but instead I was drunk and laughing hysterically drunk all night. At least I found I made a silly drunk. Since then, I have not drank or hardly at all. Sadly, two of my brothers still drink like FISH! My father has been sober for 27 years. Smoking(both pot and cancer sticks), I am allergic to. I can't breathe in smoke indoors as I get bad headaches, chest congestion, shoulder stiffness and so forth. My father quit smoking in December of 1984 and my mother now has COPD because of both cancer sticks and marijuana smoking. I made sure the friends I have either didn't smoke or just had cancer sticks as marijuana I detest as that drug DESTROYED my family(I am not bullshitting here). Dread Pirate Robert
Oh, btw -- the title of this thread is misleading. Pure drinking alcohol has almost no taste whatsoever. The taste of the various forms of alcoholic beverages comes from various other ingredients. Just thought I would point that out, belatedly.
