I don't get why Killing the Dragon was eliminated. That album was a return to form! Probably the 5th best album after Holy Diver, The Last in Line, Sacred Heart and Dream Evil.

It's because it came out in the wrong year. It doesn't matter how good the album is. If it was released from the mid 90s onward, the album is automatically dismissed by voters as not being as good as what came during the artists glory days. Haven't you been paying attention to that ridiculous bias that has been happening in pretty much every one of these polls we've done?

I think Killing The Dragon is much better than Sacred Heart and equal to Dream Evil. The issue with Sacred Heart is while it's a good album, it was also Dio kind of giving into the record company and making more the kind of album that they wanted instead of what he wanted. That has never been Dio. He has always done what he wanted to do and the results were always good. From the first Rainbow album all the way through to The Devil You Know, Dio never released a bad studio effort. Killing The Dragon is classic Dio. It's just too bad it came out in 2002 which means "fans" wouldn't give it a chance.

Yeah but Magica is way worse and came out around the same time, and Strange Highways isn't classic Dio-era either. Even Lock Up the Wolves might not be considered classic Dio because it came out in the 90's with a totally different band.
