It's My Life, The Thread For All Things Talk Talk

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd put the Mark Hollis solo cd on today...wow. A cd that is in love with music as well as silence. A great sounding recording too. A little melancholic in spots (no surprise there) but very listenable. Cool arrangements and I love the use of all-acoustic instruments.

This led me to putting Laughing Stock on, which is just as fresh sounding as it was back in '91. What an interesting band, and really thoughtful and musical playing. Very pleasant listening. A well-constructed album.

Guess I'll have to put on Spirit of Eden next...A bit more of a downer record (supposedly recorded under the influence of various psychedelics) but again, a real treat for the ears. The children's choir is a beautiful touch. Who knew Talk Talk would turn into this? :D

Spirit of Eden always reminds me of a rainy day. Love the dynamics, textures and use of space. Stunning.

Plan on listening to them soon, where should I start? Go from the beginning? or a certain album?

Dunno what to tell you...have fun and good luck!

(Spirit of Eden was the first one I heard and it's a good 'un)
