The recent Max Webster box set has a PledgeMusic crowdfunding thing tied into it with a recent interview featuring Kim Mitchell and Mike Tilka posted here.

I hope it sells well for them great band. Unfortunately Already have all the albums on vinyl so not really a useful purchase for me but I’d love to support them in some way.

I was lucky to catch them when they supported Rush in the UK. Still have the promo sampler and have been a massive fan ever since.

Nearly everyone I know that saw them on that tour is a fan, and Paradise Skies actually charted in the UK Charts and they played our legendary pop TV show Top of the Pops. It is still a mystery to me hoe they weren’t massive among serious rock/Prog fans.

Here's a 7" single Once a Days / Once a Child recorded in 1968 from Kim's first band The Grass Company.

Max Webster?

Never heard of 'em.

Can you Please tell me which Universe you were Born in? If you still are here, of course.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Some brilliant musicianship, and a ton of great songs.

Oh, I wasn't expecting anyone to actually read it! It's an academic paper - meant only to be read by the person who wrote it and the person who edited it!

Oh, don't be Obtuse, you goof! Mentioning the paper on a RUSH Board? The Brother Band of RUSH? OF COURSE WE NEED TO READ IT! [Picard voice/ "MAKE IT SO!"/Picard voice/]

Well, if you really want to punish yourself, you can try this link.

This is the book it was published in. There is an essay on Rush, as well. The book is absurdly expensive, though.

A bit wordy for me at this stage in my life, but I can remember when I used to study the liner notes and stuff, and you're an excellent writer! Thanks for this!

Yeah, it's an awful lot of words . . . probably a lot of filler. Thanks, though!
