PolarizeMe
^ a resounding MEH from me. I'd have to see the full set. Sonata sets are pretty boring considering they hardly ever mix it up.It’s moderately exciting for me cause sadly, the Caleb trilogy was one of my favorite things about the band...well...at least the first three in the chronology (The End Of This Chapter, Don’t Say A Word, and Caleb). But yeah, their set lists are pretty bland...the one time I saw them it was a bland set as well.
PolarizeMe
I’ll just say for the record, power and thrash metal are probably the two subgenres of metal that I like least...

Mr. Not
I'm not too big a fan of the lyrics/vocal harmonies on this one... The guitars are good.
Mr. Not
As cool as the title track may be; this is my favorite song from the new album. The lyrics are what seal the deal. It's almost like an anthem for me at this point. "It's one of those things you can't get out of your head"
PolarizeMe
If a MK night happens again before the end of 2017 (in what I'd imagine being a "year end" edition of favorite stuff from the year), you'll be guaranteed that this will part of my playlist contribution at some point. Push comes to shove, this is my pick for best metal song of the year and Mass VI being my pick for best metal album of 2017 (it was Full of Hell's Trumpeting Ecstasy for most of the year but is now #2) and maybe even the best post-metal album of the decade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD7bxyzFbC4 I broke a near week hiatus just to say this. Could be a short term return...who knows.

PolarizeMe
The biggest mistake Kaoru ever did to himself was cut his hair, dye it blonde for [mode of MACABRE] and then subsequently dye it silverish and finally brown. Now he looks like a younger, more trendier, more mobile doppelgänger of my dead grandpa. We will now call post-July 2017 Kaoru, Grandpa Kaoru. Mr. Not
archiving Something I meditate on far too often is that a loved one of mine could be (theoretically) tortured to death or brutally / senselessly murdered... Or die in a mass shooting or whatever. Really f***s you up to think about that sort of thing with a vivid imagination. When I think about this I realize how much more tragic having a loved one being murdered would be as opposed to having them die in a car accident or something like that. An accident is an accident, but when someone intentionally takes a life it's sick and just thinking about it makes me rage. So I hope all of my loved ones die normal deaths instead of falling victim to something disgusting.

Mr. Not
2017, for me, was a lot like being resurrected, I'd imagine. I went from living in hell & wanting to die, to living a decent life wherein I thrive. Moving forward, I'm getting into racing, so I might just buy myself a sports car and start racing it every so often as a hobby, but I'm also taking into account my calling up towards the north, and I feel like taking action in that adventure needs to come sooner rather than later - definitely by the time I'm in my late 20's at the very latest... PolarizeMe
This has gone from "one of my favorite Shinya songs" to one on my top 10 favorite drumming songs of all-time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v_nSIJ72swWell, Shinya’s better than Tommy Portimo...that much anyone would know. IDK what is the best “Shinya song” but the drums on Un deux are pretty cool, yes. I’ll just state for the record that it is known that Shinya wrote the songs Yurameki, Raison Detre (w/Toshiya), Hotarubi, umbrella, Fukai, Namamekashiki Ansoku Tamerai ni Hohoemi and Cause of fickleness. There might be even more songs he’s written but it’s hard to find out cause DEG stopped giving individual song writing credits on VULGAR and any info on songwriting since then has come from band members themselves in interviews. PolarizeMe
DEG released a preview video of the re-recorded songs...and honestly, I can see why they decided to re-record Fukai, The IIID Empire and Beautiful Dirt. While Fukai and THE IIID EMPIRE were already great songs (the latter being a VULGAR classic), Beautiful Dirt was a bottom tier track from Withering to death. but nevertheless all three were plagued with horrible production. The re-recorded version's got better production on what are essentially performances faithful to the original unlike the re-recorded versions of Tsumi To Batsu, Zan, and Kiri To Mayu. Beautiful Dirt actually breathes new life in its re-recorded version.

PolarizeMe
Re-recorded Fukai, THE IIID Empire and Beautiful Dirt sounds great. And it looks like the lyrics for the new Fukai uses the VULGARISM version.
Mr. Not
A nice little double feature for Se(d)an The original The sequel (both vids are very good, but I enjoyed the sequel a bit more, honestly) How three Aussie millennial nerds who hit e-list celeb fame + attained an easy (although not sustainable) career in YouTube act when in France while drunk. PolarizeMe
All speculation, but w/recent activities this latest fan-speculation seems believable. Newest theory on the future of DEG is that the next album will be the last/2nd to last. 3-6 years and the band's finished. My hunch says that DEG will end in 2022: their 25th anniversary. And one more thought on the re-recorded The IIID Empire...on fourth viewing of the trailer, I've come to the conclusion that while the production's much better...the production and performance is too polished. Either that, or they're going through the motions on that re-recording in particular...hence why I believe that speculation of the band coming close to a thematic end as bummed I'd be for when the fateful day arrives. Mr. Not
The Utafumi pitch is x999999 times better than that vid though, honestly. The "SITTING ON THE BEACH THIS SUMMER" video has an amount of artistic merit to it, while the 'Best Album' promo vid is much more generic & trendy. Mr. Not
Yo, it would be cool if that one f****t would take a break from marching in the prissy pussy piss-all-over-me parade and attempt to lighten up by participating in this thread every once in a while. Y'know, the guy who's gone completely silent for the past several months even though people still want to hear what he has to say. F***in' c***.
