Led Zeppelin
Why was the White Stripes put on this list? They are better than most of the bands out there And they are only a 2-person band... Elephant is a marvelous album And the answer to the question is not a single band, but rather a genre: Emo
D-13
QUOTE (liquidcrystalcompass @ Sep 27 2005, 12:28 AM) QUOTE (rickyrob @ Sep 26 2005, 12:19 PM) Why aren't Vardis in there??? Have you seriously spelt Linkin Park wrongly, or was this a typo error? Linkin Park stands for nothing. They are not musicians, only players in the realm of marketing. I've listened to that crap before and they are simply not talented musicians at all. They are part of this downfall of music that we are all going through. Why doesn't any band solo anymore. It's because of bands like Linkin Park that have no musical talent. They should be ashamed. So their not good musicians....but it's good music

Modest Man From Mandrake
QUOTE (Led Zeppelin @ Sep 27 2005, 06:57 PM) Why was the White Stripes put on this list? Because I have heard better sounds whizzing out of a pigs ass. There songs are boring and generic, with no substance. That's why.

HAHAH!!! Alright - now ya touched a nerve. I'll give ya the Beatles, they do pretty much suck, but Led Zeppelin? Most modern rock wouldn't be what it is without their influence. And if you really want to add a worthless artist to that list add Bruce Springstein, someone ought to let him know how bad he sucks! My two cents worth! The Beatles are WAY more influential than Zep ( I love both bands) They brought rock to the forefront more than anyone. Even Jimmy Page and Co.. will tell you that
Necromancer
Out of the bands you listed here, i pretty much don't like any of them. At least i wouldn't buy a CD by any of them. Maybe dl a song here or there, but that's about it. Of all of them i can only say i hated Culture Club with a passion. Everything about their music annoyed me. It had nothing to do with their image, though that didn't help. I just hated what i was hearing from them. There was a ton of bands that should have been added and I would much rather vote for AEROSMITH over just about anyone. I HATE them. There were a few songs i could stomach occassionally when played at a party, but since their "rebirth", i can't stand any of their shit. Another band that has fallen so far that i can't stomach anymore is U2. It's hard to believe they are even the same band as the ones that took the world by storm so long ago. Bono makes me And of course you can add the entire genres of rap and country. They make me the most. A funny thing i noticed. Mr. Big was composed of some of the best musicians at their respective instruments and still mega sucked. Interesting.

I think many would argue that rock in general wouldn't be what it is today without the Beatles' influence. They accomplished more musically in 7 years than most bands could ever dream of accomplishing in an entire career. I am a bit biased though since I am a Beatle fan and believe Abbey Road is one of the greatest records ever made. Definitely can't argue against Zeppelin! ES-335
Also, the Beatles???? OMG!!! You all have no idea of the impact they had on rock and roll. And, although you may not like their music, you can't deny their talent.
ES-335
I voted for Poison as I never got into them at all and I was in the thick of the 80s heavy metal phase. They were all marketing, no depth. I do not deny they could play, but the music sucked.
ADRider
The Rolling Dead...pretty much copied the Beatles until Let It Be-leed, then proceed to write R&R standards (A_D_E...etc) for another 20 years.

Mongo
QUOTE For me it's Bon Jovi and Nickleback...ATROCIOUS!! Gotta agree on this one. A famous music reviewer once said "If every line rhymes with the one right before it, you aren't saying anything of importance", and Nickelback did that with their latest song (and I use the term lightly) "Autograph." Bon Jovi just all sounds the same. Edited October 8, 2005 by Mongo
