    Exit Stage Left

There is an old Rockline interview from years ago where someone called in and asked whether the older concert videos (ESL, P/G Tour, ASOH) would one day be released as complete shows, and Geddy said that the unused footage was likely "thrown out".
  3. I've seen them on every tour since RTB, and those obscure songs totally made the show for me. Regardless if the songs themselves were my favs or not, it was different.
  4. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Sep 20 2012, 11:20 AM) The Rolling Stones did this on one of their tours, I think it was back in '97 and '98. There would be a list of like ten songs put up on their web page before each show and the fans going to the concert would be able to vote for the song on the list they wanted to hear most that night. They would have a spot in the show where Mick would mention it and they showed the results on the screen they had on stage. The song lists weren't always the same, they would mix up the choices all the time. I don't know of any other bands who have done that. I attended that tour (Bridges to Babylon), and we got "Love In Vain" as a result in Toronto. It is a cool idea for sure!
  5. QUOTE (MMCXII @ Sep 16 2012, 07:40 PM) we shouldn't really be shocked about the PW material, it's Geddy's favorite album. Exactly! I wasn't surprised either knowing that whenever asked his fav Rush albums, Geddy typically mentions 2112, MP and PoW.
  6. Being a huge fan of the new album, I love the setlist. I have seen them live 16 times starting with the RTB tour, so needless to say, I am more than happy that I'm going to be seeing a ton of songs I have never seen them play live in person. Territories, Grand Designs, Body Electric, Manhattan Project...bring 'em on!
  7. QUOTE (thizzellewashington @ Sep 6 2012, 07:10 PM) Haven't really seen a lot of discussion of the actual book yet. I'm about halfway done with it and I can't say I'm all that impressed. It basically reads like fan fiction, and a lot of the references to Rush lyrics come across as really obvious and forced in. I've finished it, it was okay (I'd give it a 3/5 stars), and I just chalk it up to being a nice companion-piece to the album. I do agree that the Rush references get pretty old pretty quick, but they keep coming at you throughout the book.
  8. I will agree with Toronto crowds being quieter than in other cities. I've seen 10 shows in Toronto since '91, 3 outside of Toronto (2 in Buffalo, 1 in Detroit), and I can say that Detroit was the best crowd by far. But performance-wise - absolutely check out Rush in Toronto!
  9. QUOTE (Snowdog @ Oct 1 2005, 11:20 AM) QUOTE (Cygnus27 @ Sep 29 2005, 11:51 AM) I must confess that I was a fan of the original Degrassi Jr. High/Degrassi High series. It was pretty cool for me since the kids on the show were the exact same age as I was, so I was able to directly relate to many of the episodes. Although watching it today, some of it is sure to come off pretty campy, but the low-budget appearance to the show and the fact that the 14 year olds in the show were actually played by 14 year olds (not late-20 somethings) gave it a realistic feel. I enjoyed the original series very much when it aired. I haven't watched any of the "new" DeGrassi shows though. Are they worth taking a look at? And how do they compare to the original? I guess it's worth looking at. I don't really watch it myself, although it has won a TON of awards here in Canada. The writers were pretty smart as a few of the original cast are regulars on the show, plus they have the odd appearance from other original cast members in various episodes.
  10. QUOTE (ByWyzD @ Sep 30 2005, 06:07 PM) Alright - now ya touched a nerve. I'll give ya the Beatles, they do pretty much suck, but Led Zeppelin? Most modern rock wouldn't be what it is without their influence. I think many would argue that rock in general wouldn't be what it is today without the Beatles' influence. They accomplished more musically in 7 years than most bands could ever dream of accomplishing in an entire career. I am a bit biased though since I am a Beatle fan and believe Abbey Road is one of the greatest records ever made. Definitely can't argue against Zeppelin!

  12. I was unfortunate enough to have been given free tickets to a preview of Carrie 2 before its release... The pain was too great to accurately describe! Sure it was free, but that was 2 hours of my life that I never get back!!
  13. The Pass for me is heads and shoulders above the rest of the album. No contest.
