  1. Yeah you'll get them before the show, no worries! I just don't know why they wait so long....
  2. I can dig seeing MP a second time as well...my guess is that they might pull a few tunes, and replace them like they did for S&A part 2 to mix it up a bit....
  3. I know I've posted this somewhere else, heck maybe even here somewhere, but the reason that ticket prices are so high is because of scalpers!! Bands see what people are willing to pay to see them, and places like Ebay and Stub Hub allow scalping, so when the band sees that you are willing to pay $200+ for a ticket that was originally on sale for $85. you can't BLAME them for raising prices because people WILL pay that amount of money! You can also add all of the handling charges for the tickets, and convenience taxes, and a tip for the person that has to lick the envelope etc. THEN when someone goes to SELL the ticket via a scalpers site, they cite the handling fees etc. as their reason for selling them so high! I recently saw tickets for James Taylor at my local theater were going for $95. plus the usual fees. less than 24 hours after the show was sold out, Stub Hub had some on sale for $220. and up PER ticket! I've decided that I'm going to start buying twice as many tickets as I have in the past, and selling half of them on Stub Hub, so I can basically go to concerts for FREE!
  4. I'd like to see them keep Camera Eye, but drop the rest of MP...yeah. getting tired of the rest of those tunes.... Jacobs Ladder would be nice, Some truncated version of Cygnus X-1 and Hemispheres would be neat...ANYTHING from Caress of Steel (yeah dreaming!) Oddly enough...I really wish they'd pull Lakeside Park out for a go! (a little nostalgia for us older folk) I'm curious if they'll play more of the "upcoming" new album???
  5. HERSHEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 minutes from home! can life get any better?
  6. AS someone that usually is only able to hit ONE show per tour, the structure of their current way is great, because you KNOW what to expect, and if they are playing something that you REALLY want to hear, and they bag it for your particular show, then you feel left out. There are a few bands out there that change it up every night, and I think with the technology available, they are able to change it up by pushing a button for a specific lighting/movie program. During the VT tour, they swapped a few songs every few nights, and since I was able to catch that on two separate legs, I WAS able to hear both swapped tunes, which was great.... That all said, however, I would LOVE to see them pull stuff that they either haven't played in years, and stick something odd in occasionally (i.e. Lakeside Park, Beneath, Between, & Behind, etc.) I'm SURE they could handle it?!?!?!

    Katy Perry

A buddy of mine took his daughter to see some boy band years back, and during a "costume change" he said that they played a little Tom Sawyer, and some Police ( I forget which tune) Apparently the idea was to give the parents something to dig. Cool stuff..she's cute, but can't sing worth a crap!
  8. I'm just glad I wasn't in the "frame of mind" I was usually in at Rush shows back in the 80's because I could have SWORE that one of MY cats was looking out of one of the windows?!?!?! It was weird!!!
  9. Nice collection! My wife would KILL me if I "filled in some blanks"! The first shirts I got at shows were from the Grace Under Pressure tour, but had a few prior to that from the BackStage Club.... I think my collection can go back to AFTK, Signals, MP, & ESL from the club... I have shirts from the GuP, Power Window, & HYF tours (I think I got two from each in those days) Now none of these shirts fit since A. they shrank, B. I got bigger! Recently, I've gotten some of the reproductions from the club, (Rush, CoS, &Hemispheres) and at least one shirt from each tour since T4E... I'm going to start attempting to get the tour books I don't have though... I have the books from every tour I've seen, and a few odd ones from the club..I think I need about 5 or 6 to have the whole set.
  10. Here Again (favorite off the old RoIo's!) Beneath, Between Behind! (or In the End.....toss up) Fountain of Lamneth! 2112 (yeah, the whole dang thing!) Cygnus X-1 (oh yeah!) Cygnus X-1 Book Two, Hemispheres! (oh yeah part II) Natural Science ALWAYS was one of my favorites! The Camera Eye! (my favorite from this tour!) The Analog Kid (just like the riff!) Between the Wheels (hoh DID that rabbit feel?) Middletown Dreams (cuz I used to live in Middletown, PA) Turn the Page (cool solo section!) Scars (drum groove) Heresy (the whole VIBE of the song is cool!) Double Agent (why not!) Driven (One of the best live songs ever!) Secret Touch (the way out IS the way in!) Crossroads (hey Feedback is an album) Armour and Sword (one of my favorites from the last two tours) Clockwork Angels (why not?)
  11. One thing...looking at the recent setlists, they really HAVE been mixing things up, and pulling at least ONE obscure tune out! Not complaining as LONG as they are TOURING! (and coming to a tram shed near me!)
  12. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Sep 5 2010, 11:29 AM) Absolutely! I think they might film the Argentina show! That's going to be insane! That's Off the hook for you younger kids! I sure hope not! The crowd soud on the Rio DVD is freaking OBNOXIOUS! I'd rather see a show where the crowd noise wasn't a factor!
  13. ***spoilers in my post*** My guess will be not playing ANYTHING from Moving Pictures (except maybe Tom Sawyer for the "radio fans") and adding the new songs accordingly. Seeing that it will be the 30th anniv. for Signals, they may do a medley or maybe bring Countdown back since the Space Shuttle program will be eliminated soon!?!?! I'd like to see them continue to bring back stuff they hadn't played live before, and maybe bring back something they haven't played in years (Jacobs Ladder, since it was rumored for this tour, and they didn't play it ...time maybe?) I'll still go if they play the same setlist as they did this tour...can't see them enough, how much longer can it last?!?!
  14. QUOTE (tapehead2 @ Sep 2 2010, 07:24 PM) QUOTE (Jaminbenb @ Sep 2 2010, 04:36 PM)Nice shots! Did you get the whole show? (and will you be seeding a DVD at some point?!?!) Unfortunately no, I only shot these four songs. I was in the second row in front of Alex, and there was a security guard posted five feet from me the entire time. I didn't want to push my luck with excessive filming and risk 1) pissing off Alex and/or 2) getting told by security to shut it down. So I chose four songs only, kind of spread out. The rest of the time I was playing air drums and air guitar. Alex looked right at me at a couple points. Nice! But what a shame, the vids were great!!!! I was with ya playing air drums! Kind of hard NOT to do! hahahaha!!! I had Geddy laughing at me in Philly back in 84 because I was so into the show air drumming and all that!!
  15. Allentown was PACKED! Not sure of their numbers, but the venue was full!
  16. Nice shots! Did you get the whole show? (and will you be seeding a DVD at some point?!?!)
  17. Nah...the band may have some peaks and valleys in terms of albums, but nothing was dire! I think the diversity of their catalog (as evidenced by the thread that has you list your top to bottom favorite albums) is their charm! You see people all over the board with their preferences, which is cool! I think the only way we'd see anything close to that is if they start bringing in popular contemporary outside players (sort of like Santana's Supernatural album) to make things different.
  18. QUOTE (skier66 @ Sep 1 2010, 07:56 AM) just posted about last night camera's... http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=59429 i could have walked in with my dSLR last night I think you could have walked in with stands, mic's and wheeled a Studer 24 track recorder in the gate I went in last night!
  19. Nice pics thanks for uploading!!!! Great show, though! Screw the crowd, I just dance to the beat of my own drummer! (which happens to be Neil ) Hard to believe some had security issues?!?! I didn't even get a second look walking in (unlike any show in Hershey where you get felt up like a teenage girl) I saw more cameras than anywhere I've ever been (sec. g row 20) and figure that someone had to sneak some recording equipment in!
  20. Finally! Been waiting for this all summer!!!!
  21. I'm gonna venture a guess and say you were drunk when you wrote this topic, huh? Wow...drunk for a Rush show how mid-1980's I'm on the bandwagon with "I'm just happy they're touring!" I look at it this way...they can play the exact same setlist every tour until they retire and I'll be happy to go see them! Thankfully they change it up every time, and you get a good cross section of their entire body of work!
  22. QUOTE (InvisibleAirwaves13 @ Jul 11 2010, 06:46 PM) You can't please all the people all of the time...or in this case most of the people any of the time. Get over it and enjoy. They could have retired and you could be reliving the glory years through R30 and Rush in Rio etc... Definitely! They could have hung it all up after T4E and we'd be sitting here searching for elusive bootleg recordings and whining about hoarders like we did on other boards after the T4E album came out! (not that some of us don't STILL do that!)t They're touring! I'm going to a show, yay! I don't care what they play! They have plenty material to choose from, and they've changed it up every single tour that I've seen them! If it keeps them out there touring, and they don't get complacent with their choices in music, it's all good!
