  1. Ice water in ya veins! Absolutely! But, if all he needs is a single, I think he's going to score. Good luck! :)
  2. Scalpers are definitely still around. I've seen them the past few concerts I've been to, and every sporting event. You'd think with today's technology they'd be obsolete, but they actually use it to their advantage. I've seen groups of them working together, buying and selling, checking online, etc... Would you get a better deal from one of them instead of buying online? Not until it's actually show time. If you are willing to miss the opener, the scalpers start sweating when it's show time, and you can cut a deal. Before then, because of the demand of these shows, Boston in particular, they won't budge until they know they are about to eat them.

  4. Sorry! I wasn't directing that directly at you, or accusing you of anything. I apologize if I came off that way. I just meant that sometimes one can be persuaded into thinking they heard something differently because someone else mentioned it first. If you say you heard it without any prompting, then I absolutely believe you. I am in no way, shape or form an expert. I have been a musician for over 35 years, so I think I have a good ear, but I'm not an expert, at anything! :) I didn't mean to frustrate you. We're all huge Rush fans here. I'm not here to make anyone upset!
  5. I think you are right. That is what I hear as well. I'm surprised more here didn't pick it up. I didn't the first time I watched it only the second time. He's singing THEE. Combined with him singing very low and his enunciation, it sounds kind of off, and easily mistakable. . No, he's not singing "thee." It's absolutely "thee" every time. I've listened to it at least a dozen times. I can hear how you could think it's "you", as was mentioned above, the combination of how low his lower register is in the mix and a bit of enunciation doesn't make it "ring out". But, it's 100% "thee". Some who were actually there will disagree with you, and I can only tell you what I heard when I listened to it. When you're actually at a live event things go by fast. The fact that I wasn't there doesn't disqualify me from knowing what he actually sang, seeing as we have multiple versions of the song on YouTube to analyze. I think this is more case of people hearing what they want to hear, or wished they heard. Changing the lyrics to "you" makes no sense, and I can't imagine Geddy doing that. I could clean up a chunk of the audio and post it, but it's kind of silly at this point. The fact is, they played this amazing song, and I still get chills every time I watch it.

  7. They are ridiculous, and I've been holding out as long as I can for tickets. I haven't seen a show since R30, and since this may be the last one I was sweating it out. The world, finances, etc., haven't been good to me the past few years, so I had given up on seeing them. My brother-in-law surprised me with tickets on Saturday, so I'm actually going! Life is good...
  8. That's a quote from a show in the late seventies, early eightes - Geddy messing around. Signals Tour :)
  9. I think it's going to depend entirely on whether Ben Mink is willing to travel to any other city. They won't play it without him.
  10. the rumors....the rehearsal video....the anticipation....it all built up to quite the moment didn't it Agreed. All the build up, then the moment finally happens. And in one of those brief and rare experiences, the anticipation didn't overshadow the moment. It was sublime. They had one shot at it, and they absolutely nailed it. I still can't believe we were able to witness that...
  11. For the first time this tour, the second set is actually going to be a let down after the first set! LOL... :)
  12. I'm not ashamed to admit I was actually shaking, and had a lump in my throat... I can't believe we just saw that...
  13. Great read. In addition to the great Olivia story, I was really happy to hear that the throwback kit was really his idea from the beginning, and that he was genuinely excited about it. I was a bit worried that it was Ged's or Alex's idea, and that Neil begrudgingly agreed. I haven't read the tourbook yet, so I wasn't sure if he mentioned it in there, but that's really cool. One of his better updates definitely.
  14. You can't seriously be comparing what the Stones do to what Rush does. I have nothing against the Stones, but the physical demands of a Stones show pale in comparison to a Rush show. It's night and day. If Alex is suffering as much as we have been told, he simply cannot keep up with the stamina needed to perform at close to 100%. Not to mention the Watts vs. Peart difference. I love Watt's playing style, but it's not nearly as physically demanding as Peart's style.
  15. Did you take that video? Looks very close to where I was in orch. 2 I recall saying DEW WTF during and after the song. The best I could figure out is Alex guitar (no darn single quote on the surface tablet, iPad is outta juice, ugh) Anyway Alex guitar I think cut out in DEW and either they were stalling for it to cut back in or they need his riffs for timing in that song. I agree its rather difficult to hear his guitar normally in DEW as that song is from the one neck era (four necks are...) Pretty sure it was Neil that f'd that up. Alex and Geddy are still in sync with each other throughout the trainwreck, with Neil a couple measures behind. If you listen to it from the beginning, it sounds like Neil went a few measures to long at the end of the guitar solo before going back into the main bridge. Something Alex played a bit differently in the solo may have sparked it, but Neil is the one who lost it.
  16. If you read the top pinned thread in this form, "SPOILERS - How to post them", you'll find out exactly why it matters if spoilers are in the thread title.
  17. Mayonnaise is already spoiled. Now I am hungry I just had a turkey sandwich with mayo for lunch. Now I'm concerned...
  18. Why would you put *Spoiler Alert* and the name of the song you are spoiling in the thread title? Doesn't that seem just a bit counter-intuitive to you at all?
  19. You absolutely can restring that fast, I don't believe there's any locking nut on that guitar, so it's just string and tune. Can be done in under a minute. The battery pack was fine, and you can actually hear the guitar out of tune on that last sustained chord, which usually means a string broke. I believe the reason why he was gesturing and all that was simply because he was pissed. In the moment he probably wasn't thinking there wasn't a backup in the correct tuning. He just had a broken string and wanted a new guitar. It probably dawned on him once he handed it over that it had to be restrung and it wasn't just a guitar swap. They're in the middle of a song and he needs a guitar restrung, he's just frustrated and wants the roadie to hurry. No one's fault, just one of those things.
