  1. QUOTE (ghostworks @ Jul 31 2010, 10:35 PM) ^ and yet, I can't 'register'... ??? Yeah, the FAQ says to click on "Register" in the left column. One problem....IT AIN'T THERE!
  2. QUOTE (RodrigoAltaf @ Aug 6 2010, 11:19 AM) QUOTE (Queen of Megadon @ Aug 6 2010, 09:03 AM) ANAGRAM FOR MONGO I have always put PRESTO up in my top 2. But truly, haven't listened to it much lately. I have it practically on a loop over the past week, and, shame on me...I really HEARD the anagrams this time around. Sorry to disappoint, dude, but there's hardly ANY anagram in the whole song... Chemistry is one of the best songs in Signals for me, Alex's solo kicks serious a$$. And a song I absolutely hated when I started getting into Rush was Between the Wheels. I love it now!!! Maybe not in the srtictest of definitions, but the wordplay in that song is incredible!
  3. QUOTE (RUSHAMILEHIGH @ Aug 3 2010, 09:54 PM) OUT DOOR FOR SURE, RED ROCKS!!!!! Yeah, well not every place has a venue as spectacular as that. Prob the only place I would prefer to indoors.
  4. Been to 10-11 shows and 3 have been outdoors. I MUCH prefer the indoors. You get the full effect of the entire show in a comfortable 72F. Last two times at Lakewood here in Atlanta were just brutal. Might as well not really have a light show until the 2nd set. I did not make it to the 2nd leg of the SnA tour here in Alpharetta, but it was outdoors as well.
  5. Well Ged and Alex have both said they plan to follow the reease with a more extensive tour. As far as officially saying anything, we probably wont hear until this tour is done and CA is close to release. A lot of logistics go into planning the tours, so announcing anything right now would be pretty pointless.
  6. QUOTE (the masked drummer @ Jul 14 2010, 07:28 PM) QUOTE (grimachi @ Jul 14 2010, 06:40 PM) My opinion of Chris has certainly changed since I read the original story. I wish him well. The only thing I find curious about it all is this: For Vapor Trails, Rush played Sao Paulo (I believe that was the city) in a driving rain storm. Neil's MalletKat and other electronics were fried, yet the show went on as scheduled. (Not sure about lightening in the area for that night) I wonder why that one was not rescheduled? Let's see...45,000-60,000 fans already paid in a venue they were not going to be able to get back to. Show must go on at that point. Lightening would have an impact I am sure...but....equipment was shorted out for Sao Paulo and the show went on as scheduled. I am all for safety for the band and crew...and fans first. But, I think Chris may hae a leg to stand on here. It's completely unreasonable imho to state that it's a universal truth that "the show can go on if the show must go on" based on one instance where the rain stopped in time to clean up and fix everything in the nick of time to make it happen in Brazil. The boys got very lucky that day, and assuming the risk in that particular case panned out. Rest assured the decision to call-off that night in Chicago was not a decision made lightly or frivolous in nature, much unlike this pending lawsuit. I do not believe we are thinking of the same show. Yeah, it stopped in time for the boys to play and even record Rush in Rio. They did talk about the weather clearing just in time for them to play and still take a chance on recording it with no sound checks, video checks, etc. I am speaking of the show previous to that...one of the other shows down in South America. They spoke vividly of the elements they had to brave that night and Neil talked about how he was thinking through his solo and other songs while he was performing other pieces because certain electronics were not available due to malfunctioning because of the weather. I do not want it to come across as me blaming Rush, but I do think that sometimes business decisions are made. They almost certainly would not be heading back to South America for a one-off show. Too damn expensive. Refunding 45-60K tix for a canceled show would have been quite a hit, too. "the show must go on" might have been a poor choice of words.

  8. I would really love for the guys to sit down and consciously write an epic piece. I just don't think their writing style leads to that type of product any longer. Over the years (I do not know when it started) they have developed into this multi-jam piecemeal writing style. The first I ever remember them referencing this style was Vapor Trails. Ged and Al get together and just start jamming until that particular idea runs its course. then they will go onto another and then another. Then Ged will go and sit at Pro Tools and piece together different jams that go together or rearrange "this with that" until you have a rough draft for the demos. While not epic pieces in and of themselves, I cannot picture Limelight, Tom Sawyer, or epics like La Villa, Xanadu, or Jacob's Ladder written that way. Even songs like Territories, MHP, and on through to songs on Counterparts all seemed, to me anyway, like thought was actually placed in developing ideas and direction for each song. Now that I think about it, I started really noticing a difference in Test for Echo.
