Me either, but I do like the album he did with Alcatrazz. He actually played for the songs on that one, not just widdled away to no purpose.

Kirk Hammett. Absolutely dreadful, but has achieved mega guitar god status. Other worthy contenders for me are Jimmy Page (after all this time, still can't bend in tune or do clean slurs ) ,the Edge & Cobain, who both just plain reek. JMO, all the best to people who like these guys, no offence meant at all. Oh, Slash is massively overrated too.

Deep Purple: New album with Bob Ezrin
Turbine Freight replied to treeduck's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I've only heard a couple of tracks but they were pretty ordinary. I don't think I'll get this one. I'll listen to a few more of the songs online first before I decide for certain. Shame because I like vintage DP alot.- 113 replies

Satch was good fun back at the Alien/ Blue Dream time but levelled out pretty quickly after that imo. He's technically brilliant but his tone can be awful at times. It's particularly rank on those Chickenfoot albums. However, my brother sees him every tour & says he's great live. Keep meaning to check his gig out.

The new Ghost is a good album. It's a good selection of songs & it's catchy too but a bit off the wall. Nice stuff. :guitar:

The Official Megadeth Thread
Turbine Freight replied to Union 5-3992's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I just heard the "Super Collider" song & I didn't like it at all. I don't think it's a grower either. I hope to God the album is better. I've liked the last few albums, all good imo. This was a real disappointment. -

Lucky. I'm jealous. Seriously. Would love to see them live.

That's brilliant! I love the early Kansas stuff. I got a box set of all their albums remastered & some expanded from the debut up to "Drastic Measures" & I haven't stopped playing it since I got it. I went off them at around the "Drastic Measures" album but up until then they were great. I love the first 3 records & "Monolith". I wish I could see this tour.

METAL LIVES! The New WHITE WIZZARD Called
Turbine Freight replied to RUSHHEAD666's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I'll be getting this album. I like this band alot. I do think that's a new singer too. This band does have a propensity for musical chairs. The other albums they've done have all been good listens. -
Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?
Turbine Freight replied to rushgoober's topic in Music Of The Spheres
And how did they give the industry a shot in the arm? Seriously, did they inspire anything particularly special that came afterwards? Culture Club & Visage were at the forefront of the New Romantic movement. They were the bridge from the underground clubs to the mainstream for that type of music. They inspired loads of bands that came afterwards (Duran Duran, Human League, all that lot). Whether you deem that "special" is purely objective. -

Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?
Turbine Freight replied to rushgoober's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I like Boy George. Got to admire someone who is unafraid to be themselves, often under duress & even censure. Not a Culture Club fan myself, but they were a good pop band that gave the industry a shot in the arm when it was needed. -
You can tell he's a KISS fan too, he has the onstage move of Paul Stanley exactly! !!

Who fell off the biggest cliff?
Turbine Freight replied to Lost In Xanadu's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Aerosmith - loved everything up to "Night In The Ruts", after that, flatlined. Def Leppard - went from being ace to being woeful in one fell swoop. "Pyromania" was the last good one. Bon Jovi - really like the first two records, especially the debut, but "Slippery" killed them (although not financially!). Scorpions - were absolutely brilliant. The Ulrich Roth era was masterful. Then from "Lovedrive" to "Love At First Sting" they were a great pastiche of a US party band, but fun & still making great songs. After that they just began to cannibalise themselves & became awful very quickly. It's hard to believe that the modern day Scorps came up with early albums like "In Trance", "Virgin Killer" & "Taken By Force". Huge fall in quality in my eyes. -
Black Sabbath Officially Announce New Album ’13′!
Turbine Freight replied to fonzbear2000's topic in Music Of The Spheres
The new single left me cold. Hope the album is a heck of a lot better, but won't get my hopes up.
