  1. I'm going to the July 3rd show in Milwaukee during Summerfest to see Rush for the 18th time. I've seen a lot of people posting here complaining about ticket prices for good seats and such and it is certainly a valid complaint. I'm sitting in Sec. 2 Row Y which is approx. 22nd row since they skip a few letters and for this venue these are absolutely perfect seats to take in the entire Rush experience. I've paid over $250 to be in 8th row and basically looked at the back of some tall dude's head for 3 hours. For me to enjoy the films, light show and full view of all 3 guys at once I'll take seats 20 - 30 rows back at the Marcus Amphitheater every time. Yes, all of the Sec. 2 tickets are sold out but I've seen tickets on other broker sites such as Stubhub that still had Sec. 2 tickets for around $200. Just some advice from someone who's seen about 15 shows at this venue.
  2. Can't say I blame you. I'm going to avoid trying to see the actual setlist too before the concert.
  3. QUOTE (quickfree @ Apr 22 2010, 08:33 PM) QUOTE (syd11 @ Apr 22 2010, 12:43 PM) We already know they'll most likely play 2 new songs and all of Moving Pictures. Score Out seems to feel they'll play a fairly straight forward setlist with similarities to the S&A tour with a "hit" opening the show. Alex has stated they will be revisiting Jacob's Ladder. Based on that info I've come up with a setlist that takes all of that into consideration. Let me know your thoughts. (begin the bashing!) TSOR Far Cry New World Man ** Time Stand Still Freewill New Song Closer to the Heart Subdivisions Workin' Them Angels New Song Mission ** Jacob's Ladder ----------------- Tom Sawyer Red Barchetta YYZ Limelight The Camera Eye Witch Hunt Vital Signs Malignant Narcissism (w/drum solo) The Trees ** 2112 Overture/Temples/Grand Finale ----------------- Working Man (possibly w/medley) La Villa Strangiato Any songs with ** after them could easily be substituted with one of the following: Dreamline Distant Early Warning The Analog Kid Roll the Bones The Big Money Force Ten One Little Victory I honestly don't see them playing this show without at least one Power Windows track in there to mark the 25th anniversary. Middletown or Marathon. Or perhaps even Manhattan Project since it was rumored to be an apparent alternate track for the R30 tour, but was never played. They didn't play anything off of Power Windows on the last tour and I'd be surprised if there was this year except possibly for The Big Money which has been played to death.
  4. Since I'm going to the Milwaukee show which is the 3rd stop on the tour, I will try my hardest not to see the spoilers. It'll be hard as hell but I'm determined to try this year. I knew the S&A setlist for each leg of the tour before seeing the show and it kind of kills the excitement of "I wonder if they'll play ______?"
  5. QUOTE (treeduck @ Apr 22 2010, 03:36 PM) There better be some more from AFTK or I'll blame you personally syd... I'll be at the Milwaukee show in Row Y. Find me and I'll buy you a beer if they don't play more from AFTK.
  6. QUOTE (Some Half-Forgotten Stranger @ Apr 22 2010, 03:33 PM) I think that set list sucks...sorry...but I hope this thread isn't right. Alright ...it doesn't suck...but I really want some songs I havn't seen live 20 times. Only Jacobs Ladder and LVS have me really excited. WTF is wrong with me? I was trying to be realistic with this guess. I know there are a ton of songs people on this board would rather hear.

  8. How about really throwing everyone for a loop and opening with Working Man?
  9. I believe Force Ten was a minor hit. It did get airplay in the Midwest for a while.
  10. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Apr 20 2010, 03:35 PM) I'm pretty sure they'll be delving into the past and the future. They'll play some songs off the upcoming album. I'm not disputing that they'll play some new songs. I just don't believe you're going to hear things like Anthem or Something For Nothing as some are speculating.
  11. I believe they will for sure play Time Stand Still as it seems a perfect fit for the tour name. They also have skipped that song on the last last couple of tours. I think speculation of multiple older songs or "hidden gems" to fit the tour theme will not happen. This tour is to celebrate Moving Pictures and I think most of the rest of the set will be pretty standard.
  12. QUOTE (Noisy Bastard @ Apr 14 2010, 03:38 PM) To rate what songs from CP I'd like them to play, I'll have to put them in three categories: would love to hear: Cut to the Chase Alien Shore Leave That Thing Alone Between Sun & Moon wouldn't mind hearing: Stick It Out Double Agent Cold Fire leave out (on this tour): Nobody's Hero Speed Of Love Everyday Glory So what catagory does Animate fit in???
  13. I personally love the Counterparts album. Although doubtful, if something off of this was played this tour what would you like to hear? I don't think I'd like to hear Animate again (although I do like it) and wouldn't mind Nobody's Hero but I think I'd want to hear either Cold Fire or Between Sun & Moon.
  14. QUOTE (anthemfirearms @ Apr 14 2010, 11:15 AM) I'll be heading to summerfest for the show. I'll be getting in friday night driving from Cleveland and leaving sunday. Can anyone recommend some activities/attractions and some good/fun restaurants downtown? Also got seats in sec. 1 row S seat 33,34 how are those seats in the marcus? thanks Those seats aren't bad because you are close to the aisle between Sec 1 & 2. You'll be on Geddy's side and should have a good view with no obstructions. I'm not that far from you actually as I'm in Sec 2 Row Y and near the aisle between 1 & 2. As far as restaurants in Milwaukee I say skip 'em. Just go to Summerfest each day your in town and enjoy the many food offerings they have from the best of Milwaukee's restaurants while getting to see non stop music on 9 stages.
  15. Not bad. I got 22 rows back in the center section for Milwaukee. Considering they wanted $279 for the VIP package for the first 15 rows, I got a pretty decent deal for $93per only a few rows further back.
  16. Anyone who gets a chance to make it to the 7/3 Milwaukee Rush show should take advantage of it for a few reasons. They are headlining during Milwaukee's Summerfest which is billed as the World's largest music festival and admission to the Rush show gets you in to check out the 8 or so other stages. Rush tribute band - Animation will be playing one of the side stages from 3 - 7pm prior to Rush taking the main stage. A good chance to get a full day of Rush at a great venue.
  17. QUOTE (Some Half-Forgotten Stranger @ Apr 9 2010, 09:48 AM) I was hoping "time Machine" meant rolling back ticket prices to 1982. I actually still have my ticket stub from the Hemisphere's tour and the price was a whoppin' $7.25....ha!
  18. Xanadu 2112 Hemispheres The Fountain of Lamneth By-Tor and the Snow Dog Natural Science The Necromancer The Camera Eye La Villa Strangiato Cygnus X-1
  19. I think they'll play MP in it's entirety at the start of the 2nd set and include the drum solo during YYZ as they did on the MP tour. I also think they'll probably have time for maybe 2 more songs like Closer to the Heart & TSOR to finish off the set. I'm also going to guess In the Mood & La Villa Strangiato as the encores.
  20. Since I started this posting I might as well put in my guesses. I think that since we get an "epic" longer song in The Camera Eye that Natural Science is now out of the setlist. I also think it also means we won't get Jacob's Ladder. I've got a feeling that the deep tracks we all want to hear won't happen and that the main selling point of this tour is them playing all of an album that is now 29 years old + some new stuff. I think the rest of the setlist won't contain any real lost gems. Here are my guesses: Time Stand Still The Analog Kid New World Man The Big Money Distant Early Warning Closer to the Heart One Little Victory Xanadu Mission Force Ten Working Man La Villa Strangiato
  21. Since we all know that Rush is playing all of MP (7 songs) and they will in all likelyhood play: TSOR Subdivisions 2112 Overture/Temples Freewill Plus I believe 3 songs off of S&A and 2 new songs will be played. That makes 16 songs and since on they're last tour Rush played 28 songs it leaves 12 up for grabs. How should they complete the setlist?
  22. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Apr 8 2010, 03:25 PM) I'm guessing they'll start the 2nd set with the entire MP, sort of like Pink Floyd did with Dark Side of the Moon in 94. Or finish off the first set with it like Rush did with 2112 on the T4E tour.
  23. QUOTE (Bukaloo @ Apr 8 2010, 01:59 PM) QUOTE (snowdog2112 @ Apr 8 2010, 01:37 PM) Jeez, there's no way for me to say this without sounding like a jackass which I don't mean to be but...uh.. you were actually concerned that the whole tour might consist of 7 songs? Not to worry! There'll be more where those came from! Indeed I was! I knew the band was getting old, but I was hoping they weren't at the point where 7 songs would be considered a show!
