  1. Kind of want do a full cover of Slipknot - Psychosocial in 70's prog rock style... I wonder if i could pull that off well enough
  2. trollface died out by the early 2010s but for some reason latinos still love using it unironically
  3. that's really good. i'm just happy to have rent control. i'm not finding anything better anytime soon.
  4. i know it's no one's favorite option, a lot of the times they're more trouble than they're worth, but hows gig app work over there?
  5. 1.5k per month for a studio here, some other minor expenses in addition to that. this is considered "a steal" here
  6. a few years ago i felt guilty about using amazon so much since it kills independent american retailers, but now i feel like i'm noble for using it instead of aliexpress. ...but i am also considering starting an aliexpress for certain things
  7. apple and google are performing the worst among the mag-7 and on one hand i'm glad about that because they suck as companies, but on the other hand i'm upset i backed the wrong horse by getting apple instead of microsoft or nvidia (which is booming). tesla and amazon are chill though
  8. you haven't listened to their first three albums then :D Like i was alluding to in my last post about the band, it wasn't good until their fourth album "fourth dimension" when Timo joined as the lead vocalist, and then once they got Jens in as the keyboardist for the fifth album they really started to break ground.
  9. Stratovarius is the only one I can think of which has been around for a long time (late 80s) and their best albums have been from 2011 onward. I'll admit some of their absolute best songs are from the earlier years, but when it comes to making good full-length albums Elysium, Nemesis, and Eternal are all amazing. What's also interesting about the band is that none of the band members are original band members - they even lost their main songwriter Tolkki in 2008 (this is the real reason their music has been a lot better since then, lol), the two longest standing band members now are Jens and Timo who have been in the band since 1994/1995, and they are a key reason as to why the band began to see success. It's cool that the band is all about the merit of the musicians and you can tell they're passionate about the practice, you have a 60 y/o keyboardist, 54 y/o lead vocalist, 46 y/o bassist, 40 y/o lead guitarist, and the drummer is in his early 30s. It's like they're a family of older/younger brothers.
  10. it's because he still has the hair, that's the secret
  11. if we're talking age of the members then personally I'd say it depends on the genre, and vocalists seem to get aged out faster than musicians.
  12. Different eyes see different things Different hearts Beat on different strings
  13. I think it's impressive that they're doing what they do in their 70s, my grandpa is just a very disagreeable person
  14. cool, that's on my birthday If you are not going to be in the path of the total eclipse, you can still see a portion of the eclipse. In Northern California when the eclipse reaches its max at 11:15 a.m. PDT, it will look like someone took a bite out of the sun with about two-thirds still visible. ^ i'll take a couple glances :)
  15. i checked out the title track and thought it was cool, i'm not a big JP fan but I enjoy some of their earlier live albums. between melodic/prog and death/technical metal I really can't stand to listen to more rudimentary metal - not even iron maiden. not my generation at all. the best music from olden times is the stuff which can't be improved upon or replicated, e.g. 70s genesis, the beach boys, 80s king crimson - you get what i'm saying.
  16. Asked my grandpa if he listened to the new Judas Priest album; mentioned that i was reading a lot of people claiming it was "one of their best", and "especially impressive considering they're all in their 70s" He laughed and said it was "nowhere near their best work", and that the band has been steadily downhill ever since the lead singer came out of the closet.
  17. ...But boy did this artwork set my expectations way too high
  18. Peaches En Regalia alone gives the album a top 15 spot for me. I'll admit the rest of the album isn't up to par with that track, but it's still great.
