  1. I spent almost 10 days in a hospital bed years ago and didn't have a problem until it came time to get up and try to walk. Multiply that by 7? No thanks.
  2. http://thepeoplesmovies.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Wake-in-Fright.jpg
  3. Obnoxious SEC fans, especially Alabama ones.
  4. I've never really understood why women cave to societal pressure and shave their armpits/legs/groinal area, etc and the men that find pubic hair "gross" or "disgusting" are hilariously ridiculous. It's a good thing they didn't live in the 90's or earlier. They'd have probably gone gay. I shave my face about every 2 days because my whiskers are patchy and uneven so growing a beard isn't feasible otherwise I'd never shave. I also use the old time double-edge razor. There are a myriad of shaving creams and soaps to choose from and I enjoy trying out different ones on occasion.
  5. In the big headphone picture, those are about the average price, if not a little below that. Denon makes some good stuff in the headphone area.
  6. The Main Monkey Business. It covers all the frequencies including a really low one. What headphones?
  7. I learned something new. That last bit I wasn't aware of.... :codger: You've clearly been living under a rock or possibly in a cave. :laughing guy:
  8. I predict a great future for this thread. As for me, I'm a big fan of keeping it real. Putting know-it-alls in their place. Spreading facts like grass seed. Pointing out inaccuracies and outright lies (or "untruths" as the politically correct refer to them). Musically, I don't play anything but air instruments which I can do as well as anyone. I like both kinds of music, rock and roll.
  9. 1. Yes 2. Permanent Waves (because I'd hear some Hemispheres too) 3. Prog isn't in my top 5 but I'll say classic metal. 4. Stereo. 5.1 is for movies. 5. Probably any of the outdoor venues but I don't pay much attention to that stuff. My questions. 1. Headphones or speakers? 2. Live for a year with no music or 5 years with only Top 40? 3. Cup size or butt size? 4. Why are so many people afraid of clowns? 5. If weed becomes legal nationwide, will you imbibe?
  10. Maybe you could work out a different type of transaction with Sherri? :whip:
  11. Hometime. Rich people renovating houses that many of us can't afford, using stuff that you won't find at Home Depot. $6500 gas grill, anyone?
  12. I would show Geddy's wife the many, near pornographic posts and the teenage gushing over her husband by seemingly adult women and ask her if that was embarrassing or upsetting to her?
  13. Some real touchy people in this thread and very little objectivity. Dave Matthews has the worst voice ever? I guess you haven't heard Geddy's voice or are unable to actually hear it through your obviously biased ears. Don't get me wrong, I like Rush a lot more than DMB but they are pretty good, when listening to a studio release. I can't stand jam bands when they play live but studio records are a whole different animal. Umphrey's McGee is one of my favorites but when I saw them in concert I didn't like it at all. That doesn't make them bad, just not my cup of tea. Seems some folks here can't make the distinction. Years ago I was talking to a DMB fan and I mentioned that when I took my son to his first Rush show he said, "They sound just like their cd's" which I took as high praise. When I told the Matthews fan that, he said that's why he doesn't like them that much. "When you see the DMB, you never know what you're going to get". I wish Rush would give us some of that, at least in the sense that you don't know what songs they'll be playing, not in jamming.
  14. The Invention of Lying. Many famous actors and actresses on it and a pretty funny movie with the usual, predictable ending.
  15. So whatever dillhole "wins" these ugly shoes, will only be able to brag about them to other Rush fans. If you ask the average person if they know who is the singer for Rush, you'd get a "Are they still around"? If you don't mention Rush and just go with Geddy Lee, you'd get a "Who"? As we've seen in this thread, even other Rush fans, with a better grasp on reality, think this is weird and ridiculous.
  16. This might be the dumbest post I've seen since I joined... I've seen much dumber and most likely have posted some. There is alot of truth in that post. Just my opinion and you may have to be older to "really" understand it. I realize I am in the minority on this one and I am sure Fordgalaxy and JARG do too but just don't give a sh*t.... :codger: It just doesn't really seem fair to me to say that anyone who appreciates Geddy's voice on Snakes and Arrows Live is blinded by their love for the band. I get that it really sucks for the older fans, I'm sure I would feel the same way; but statements like "they SHOULD just retire already" are ignorant. They should do whatever the f**k they want, and they seem like they want to keep touring at least for a little bit. And as far as Ged's voice goes, he honestly sings pretty magnificently by old dude standards, better than any of his rock star peers Life isn't fair and your last sentence is just silly. Just off the top of my head, Jagger (71) and Plant's (66), voices are still pretty damn good and way better than Geddy's (61), and I don't care for the Stones or Zeppelin that much so it isn't that. Clearly you have lost much of your objectivity regarding Rush.
  17. The Best Post Award goes to....EagleMoon! That's why "older" people tend to lack objectivity because they can't separate their personal experiences and distorted youthful memories from reality ;) Some think (including me) that his voice was much better during the 80's than the 70's. Sorry, but that screeching stuff can get old fast. I much prefer his voice from Permanent Waves forward. Some live vocals during their early period are almost a complete disaster, but the performances and energy make up for it....hmmm kind of like now... I too prefer his voice during that era which is why it's easy for me to hear how bad it sounds these days during certain songs.
  18. Anyone who listens to Snakes & Arrows - Live and thinks Geddy's voice is just fine, is seriously deluded, or blinded by their fanboyness that they have lost all objectivity regarding Rush, or maybe just doesn't hear well. As JARG said, either stick to just making albums, or give it up already.
  19. There are some women who would use them as masturbatory devices. http://post.mnsun.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/stop-sign.jpg Sometimes the truth hurts.
  20. Am I the only one who likes Neurotica? The law of averages says, no.
  21. There are some women who would use them as masturbatory devices. They'd be like Sheldon when Penny brought him the napkin Leonard Nimoy used. "It's got Geddy's DNA on it!'. (except in a sexual way).
  22. Bright and tender, bristle with an energy. (what I thought the lyrics were for a long time, true story)
  23. Liberals are the backbone of our society.
  24. I had no idea Geddy was that ripped..... That picture has been Photoshpped, a lot. Coonskin cap Geddy. My favorite. http://archives.rickresource.com/oldattachments/69082.jpg Separated at birth? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/VMKLadyLazarus/1217290609.jpg
