  1. Hedwig and the Angry Inch Oldboy The Fountain The Silence of the Lambs Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Blade Runner A Clockwork Orange The Rocky Horror Picture Show Monty Python and the Holy Grail Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) I tried picking only 5, but I couldn't do it, so here's my top 10 (off the top of my head, and in no particular order).
  2. That clip is hilarious! I actually have an episode of TJ Hooker on my DVR right now (the episode where Leonard Nimoy has a guest appearance ). I can't help but watch that show whenever I see it on tv, it's so bad it ends up being a lot of fun if you appreciate camp value and unintentional humor. I've gotten sucked into several TJ Hooker marathons in the last couple months. But then again, I'll watch just about anything with Shatner in it!
  3. QUOTE (softfilter @ Nov 28 2010, 01:33 PM) I have about *six or seven favorite shows, but the three i watch the most often every week are: Boardwalk Empire IRT Most Deadliest Roads Whitest Kids U' Know on IFC * Still return to The Office & 30 Rock both not as strong this year Pawn Stars Ghost Lab, better then Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State(which has been a boring bust this season) It was really a tough choice for me between Whitest Kids U'Know and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for the 3rd spot on my answer. My sister introduced me to Whitest Kids... and I love it! I haven't been able to stop watching it lately. There aren't many shows out there that can still shock me and make me laugh at the same time. It's great to see others who enjoy it too!
  4. Dexter The Walking Dead It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Nov 18 2010, 07:30 PM) QUOTE (VampireBiscuits @ Nov 18 2010, 02:01 AM) QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Oct 29 2010, 08:01 PM) QUOTE (ReRushed @ Oct 30 2010, 11:01 AM) Michael Myers, before he was ruined by sequels and some horribly misguided remakes. That could easily be said about Freddy also. Every Nightmare on Elm Street sequel was f***ing horrible I love the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels, I own all of them. But I also have a high tolerance and big soft spot for camp value and the sequels are overflowing with it. So it's almost worth it to me for that alone, but you add Robert Englund's committed and enthusiastic performance as Freddy, and all the wonderfully creative kills, and it ceases to matter much anymore if the plot is that great or if the other actors aren't the best they could have found. The Nightmare on Elm Street sequels are just fun, and I find if you go into them just to have a good time they don't disappoint. And RushHead666, I have to second you, New Nightmare was a great movie. I would recommend it to anyone who liked the original Nightmare on Elm Street, but couldn't get in to movies 2-6. I know that "Dream Warriors" is outdated and cheesy now, but when I saw that one in the theater I really liked it! Part 2 was by far the worst one. The "Nightmare On Elm Street" remake is an EPIC FAIL. After reading the posts here, I rewatched Dream Warriors last night and I have to say it's probably my favorite of the sequels, dated and cheesy at times or not. I love that they brought Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon back, and I liked Patricia Arquette and Laurence Fishburne in their roles. The story was better than most of the seuqels too. And I still have that Dokken song stuck in my head! The 2nd movie is pretty bad, but I think it still has it's charms. I think either Dream Child or Freddy's Dead would be my pick for worst of the Nightmare on Elm Street series. I definitely agree with you about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake though. I don't even understand why they felt the need to do it. Freddy vs. Jason came out in 2003 and made more money than any of the Freddy or Jason movies, and they didn't have to change anything, it's still a big draw! They should've at least kept Robert Englund. They wouldn't even have to worry about his age being a factor with all the makeup they have to do for the character! I hope they don't make anymore remakes/sequels to it.

  7. QUOTE (2112Oracle @ Oct 29 2010, 04:53 PM) FREDDY KRUEGER!!! I freakin love myself some Krueger! Pics...... http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg284/thrash019/freddy.jpg Freddy: Hey, Courtney(me), what's up? Courtney: Freddy, what the hell are you doing, invading my dream... Freddy: Because I wanted to, okay? http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz343/FreddyKruegerGirl13/freddysface.jpg Look into his eye, and dream... I couldn't agree more- Freddy is welcome in my dreams any night! Hehe... http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac133/AmokTime85/freddya.jpg I have to say, 2112Oracle, I was quite relieved to see your post! I just got into the Nightmare on Elm Street movies earlier this year, and it was only a few weeks ago I was able to admit to myself that I had a bit of thing for him, after an embarrassing and unexpected encounter with a guy at the grocery store on Halloween who was dressed as Freddy Krueger- let's just say I got a little too enthusiastic about the costume... right in front of my husband. Anyway, it's nice to know I'm not alone and probably not completely crazy!
  8. QUOTE (pedro2112 @ Sep 9 2010, 09:48 PM) QUOTE (VampireBiscuits @ Sep 9 2010, 03:47 PM) I love horror movies and good ones have been hard to find lately. I actually enjoyed Drag me to Hell recently. Not exactly true horror, but a fun film nonetheless. I actually saw Drag Me to Hell a couple of weeks ago, I forget about that one! Definitely a fun movie, and I love fun and campy horror movies as much as true horror films!
  9. I saw The Last Exorcism last night and didn't really feel very strongly about it either way. It felt like some things had been left out, and I can't help but wonder if they originally had an R rating. I love the original Exorcist and thought the Exorcism of Emily Rose was pretty well done, Jennifer Carpenter did a wonderful job in her role as Emily. And a remake of IT might be interesting, but I can't see anyone else but Tim Curry playing Pennywise. I love horror movies and good ones have been hard to find lately. I've had better luck with foreign horror movies recently. Like [Rec], a Spanish horror movie from 2007 that I would highly recommend. The last 20 minutes of that film will always stick with me. Also, Let the Right One In (Swedish), The Descent (UK- and the UK version/ending is the best, IMO) The Host (South Korea) and Oldboy (South Korea), to name a few.
  10. I just started watching Doctor Who this year, I started with Christopher Eccleston in 2005 and just finished the new season with Matt Smith. I liked Eccleston, but I really loved David Tennant. He's so emotive, without being annoying. (IMO) I found him to be one of the most endearing characters I've seen on tv in a long time. I liked Matt Smith, but I can't help but miss Tennant. Does anyone here like the spin-off, Torchwood?
  11. I can't wait to see the new season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia! If nothing else, that should keep me happy during the fall tv season.
  12. I didn't have the best luck with my genetics as far as hair goes. I have to deal with a lot of it (and very sensitive skin to go with it). It grows back fast, thick and dark- I hate it. I can't stand body hair, the only place I want body hair is my head and eyebrows, but it takes a lot of time and work to keep it that way. I used to get brazilian waxes regularly but it is very painful and gets expensive after a while. Now I do everything on my own, with a combination of shaving, waxing and plucking to get rid of my unwanted body hair. (Certain techniques work better on certain places) It's a daily process, and I want to get laser hair removal done on my face and underarms soon. I have a place picked out already, it's just hard for me to stop plucking and waxing long enough to let the hair grow out to the point where laser would be effective.
  13. My favorites are Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I love the creative freedom that the dream element gave Nightmare on Elm Street and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is simply one of the most effective horror movies I've ever seen.

"Uh, I'm just gonna go find a cash machine." The Big Lebowski would have to go in my top 10 favorite movies period. I hesitate to use the word, but it is (IMO) a perfect movie. It's got several of my favorite actors, I love the Coen Brothers, the soundtrack is awesome, excellent writing and it's filmed beautifully. And not only does it hold up on repeated viewings, it gets better with each one. I never get tired of it.

Not sure how i feel about that. Yeah I heard that too, I hope they don't. The movie is so good, they really shouldn't mess with it at all. Plus I imagine they will have to really water it down for mainstream American audiences.

  18. QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Nov 16 2009, 05:35 PM) QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Nov 13 2009, 02:29 PM) QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Nov 6 2009, 10:22 PM) I could never get into Trek TNG...not enough action like in the original series Oh it's awesome. Of all Trek some of the best characters come from this show IMO. Capt. Picard, Data, Riker, & Worf. I'd put them up there with the original's big 3 of Kirk, Spock, & McCoy. Overall I think the show was not quite as good as Deep Space Nine though I know I'm in the minority. Data was a lame copy of Spock and Picard was just dull Picard being dull is a matter of opinion but I have to come to Data's defense. Like I mentioned earlier, I also had problems getting into The Next Generation after I fell in love with Star Trek via The Original Series. At first glance, Data does seem like a ripoff of Spock, and since Spock was (and still is) my favorite Star Trek character, that was one of the reasons I held a grudge against The Next Generation for a while. But after watching it, Data is actually the complete opposite of Spock. Sure, they both are outsiders and both have difficulty in relating to humans, but they are coming from opposite ends of a spectrum. Spock hates his human half and the emotions that come with it (least he did in the series, he later seems to come to peace with it in the movies) and represses it in favor of his Vulcan heritage. While Data, made to appear human but ultimately still not, longs for human emotions more than anything else. Spock as a character was great for bringing attention to human flaws, the things as a species we should work on, while Data as a character, highlights our positives.
  19. QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Nov 6 2009, 08:22 PM) I could never get into Trek TNG...not enough action like in the original series It took me a while to warm up to Next Generation too. For a while I outright refused to watch it, its not as fun or campy as the original, not quite as warm w either, but once I really gave it a try, talked to some people who liked it and got some good episodes recommended to me- it really grew on me. When you get to know the characters its really a great show, and it does have some good action sequences. I ended up buying all 7 seasons just recently.
  20. 1. Star Trek: The Original Series 2. Star Trek: The Next Generation 3. Dexter 4. South Park 5. The Simpsons 6. Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia 7. Monty Python's Flying Circus 8. Boston Legal 9. The Mighty Boosh 10. The Big Bang Theory
  21. I was a big Michael Jackson fan when I was young, he had a big impact on me. So of course I went to see the movie, and obviously, as a fan, I am biased, but my husband went with me and he wasn't very excited about going, and he really ended up enjoying it as well. It was great to get a glimpse behind the scenes, you can tell how passionate he was about his music, what a perfectionist he was and how much work went into all of it was amazing. My husband and I still haven't stopped whining about how much we would have loved to have seen one of those shows, he was really pulling out all the stops.
  22. A few favorites; Beetlejuice (animated series) Ghostbusters (animated series) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Darkwing Duck Tale Spin Captain Planet Pirates of the Dark Water G-Force Freakazoid Fraggle Rock Pee Wee's Playhouse Reading Rainbow Dexters Laboratory The Smurfs Dino Riders Care Bears I'm sure I've forgotten some, the tv was my 3rd parent.
  23. I dont know if Michael did what he was accused of doing, but right now I dont really want to think about it. Michael Jackson had a big impact on me when I was younger. I adored him and loved his music (still do). I've never been hit this hard by a celebrities death. I had saved a bunch of VHS tapes with Michael Jackson shows, concerts, tv appearances, etc. that I'd had since I was in middle school, I pulled them out and watched them all yesterday. Yesterday was a sad day for me. Michael's impact on music and pop culture has been (and will continue to be) monumental. He will be missed. R.I.P.
  24. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Jun 20 2009, 12:03 PM) I've got to go with Malcolm McDowell. "A Clockwork Orange" RULES!! Love, CALIGULA A Clockwork Orange is one of my very favorite movies as well, a Malcom McDowell did an amazing job in the role, but I've never really been that impressed with anything hes done since. He has given a lot of very fun performances in a lot of very campy movies though, which I can certainly appreciate (Tank Girl, Doomsday, etc).
