  1. He is 1000000 times better. He is such a musical player now, and simply watching him play is so soothing and calming, for just how much raw power he exudes.
  2. GEDDY'S FAULT. how many times do I need to repeat what happened. Being in a band that uses the trigger pedals and played presto, I know exactly what happened. Read my post is the thread.
  3. Red Sector A is one of my top 3 alex solos EVER, I think its criminally underrated.
  4. QUOTE (graptemys @ Nov 11 2011, 10:48 AM) It appears like they were suppose to go the guitar solo after that verse and instead jumped to the transposed verse. Then they went back to the solo and repeated the transposed verse for a second time. No...thats on purpose, they rearranged it like that for the tour. Its right before going into the solo...seriously guys lol
  5. QUOTE (metaldad @ Nov 7 2011, 10:30 AM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Nov 3 2011, 02:47 PM) Neil missed a cue or something. Showing that yet agian, that he Sucks and can't play Jazz Neil didn't miss a beat. He went with what he heard in his monitor...which is what he's supposed to do. Geddy messed up, he even says so on the notes on the DVD.
  6. QUOTE (Sir Lerxst @ Nov 5 2011, 11:49 AM) Well, he did ask. Yea I know, I was complimenting you, cause you nailed it on the head. Cool to hear about the note from Geddy too
  7. That's literally exactly how they fixed it lol
  8. You can actually hear geddy hit the wrong pedal first, the first chord of the chorus comes out, then he taps the correct one and it is apparently on the same mute group as the chorus samples, because it cancels it out and plays the correct sample, yet a half measure late, Neil adapts, Alex doesn't, Geddy is lost. Simple as that.
  9. Can someone link me to where I can preorder it? Thanks
  10. The Taurus sound was pretty obvious to me in Caravan during the chorus, although it wasn't as loud as it was in the older songs. Live, they both use the korg mpk130 pedals, which are strictly midi. However, they still have the samplers from the taurus pedals, which show up quite a bit on the older songs. Usually its Alex who winds up playing them, such as the chorus on TSOR, or the synth solos in tom saywer and subdivisions.
  11. Made some first set revisions, I can see this being VERY possible. Steampunk/airport theme intro YYZ Force Ten Double Agent The Pass The Enemy Within The Weapon Witch Hunt Freeze Caravan BU2B Intermission Different steampunk themed intro C/A Song C/A Song C/A Song C/A Epic Limelight Mal Nar Drum solo Different Strings acoustic Jacobs Ladder Tom Sawyer Cygnus X1 teaser (RIR version) The Spirit of Radio Encore: 2112 (full) I think The Fear series straight into Caravan and BU2B without geddy introducing them would be awesome
  12. Remind me to get seats the row behind you come next tour
  13. (Taken from an older thread, except I switched TSOR and Limelight) Steampunk/airport theme intro YYZ The Analog Kid Double Agent Kid Gloves (This reallllly needs to happen) Freewill Bravest Face Red Barchetta The Trees Caravan BU2B Intermission Different steampunk themed intro C/A Song C/A Song C/A Song C/A Epic Limelight Mal Nar Drum solo Different Strings acoustic Jacobs Ladder Tom Sawyer Cygnus X1 teaser (RIR version) The Spirit of Radio Encore: 2112 (full) Encore is more realistically gonna be either overture, temples, and grand finale (R30), or TCE or some other epic
  14. Great pictures! Love the one of Neil with the big cheesy smile during the line "turn up the music and smile," in workin them angels. I laughed out loud when he did that at Al that night.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5wzudtyOSw that's pretty much the only real footage I got of the show, I was too busy having fun lol.
  16. Even in the 15th row, I could actually feel the power from the drums, it really is a different show down there, even if you aren't all the way at the front. I'm never going to settle for the 200's section again haha. She was convinced that Rush was for nerds and that it was just nothing she could get into. She's liked a few songs like BU2B, Faithless, Workin them Angels, and Time Stand Still (how lucky that those were ALL in the setlist), but aside from that she couldn't stand them. I was worried that her lack of excitement was going to prevent her from having a good time, especially while waiting at the park and ride and all these rush "nerds" were telling her how much she was going to enjoy it. Then we got to our seats and she was a bit impressed by the venue. Video started and she started chuckling, then smiling by the end of it, Then the first E chord of spirit of radio hit and she was rocking out just as hard as anyone. She even yelled at me for texting during the chorus (just telling my buddy that bailed on me how great the seats were), and told me to clap along. The more and more they play, their tours just get better and better. Not only for us fans, but for others who might have been "dragged" there one way or another. The videos, pyro, lights, and just raw energy and friendship of the band are at such high levels that I don't think anyone could leave a rush show and say "wish I wouldn't have gone."
  17. QUOTE (TheBluePhoenix @ Jun 29 2011, 08:46 AM) Of course it was a great show. One should expect no less! The part about Neil leaving the show on his bike sounds odd to me. I've always heard him say that he rides TO the next show on the day of the show. I've never heard him say that leaves the venue on his bike after a show. I would think that after a show he'd be tired and want to get a meal and then some sleep before riding his bike. That through me off at first too. They were also going SOUTH on I-5, which really didn't make sense. I'm 100% positive it was them though. My guess is maybe they had some scenic Eastern Oregon riding to get to today (the day after), so while the busses went north, they just took off right after the show going south back to portland or somewhere close to find a place to stay to take off for the morning. All the Northwest shows are so close together (no more than 5 hours driving pretty much) that this seemed like the most probable idea. But there was definitely no mistaking his face! It was pretty funny, when he came roaring up behind us at first (didn't see michael yet, and didn't bother looking at the bike) we were like "check out this asshole trying to get through the traffic jam.....woah woah woah wait a minute..." lol.
  18. What an AMAZING show. It was my first time with floor tickets, and WOW what a difference. 15th row felt like the front compared to my usual spots in the far depths of the 200 sections. Was able to run up to the front to try and catch a shirt but no luck, got a quick glimpse of what front row was like, then security made us head back to our seats. I went with my best friend (only person who i could find to go last minute, she "hates" rush, and was not looking forward to it.) She absolutely loved it, and commented on how great Geddy sounded (thats the main reason she didn't like them). She already asked me when the next tour is haha. Anyway, the boys played great as always, it was my 3rd time seeing them, and definitely the best show I'd been to. They really seemed to get off on side 2 of moving pictures, particularly vital signs, just tremendous playing all around. Then, about 10 minutes after leaving the park and ride, I notice a pair of motorcycles coming up behind us. Closer inspection revealed Neil's BMW, and a quick face check proved it to be the Professor himself. At a tiny traffic jam, I was able to make eye contact with him, played a quick air drum, and gave a thumbs up with a big smile. He gave a thumbs up back, a smile (I think, hard to tell through the helmet), and a wave as he started weaving his way through traffic, with Michael close behind. A great experience, and an amazing show!
  19. seat numbers? row? price? I'm very interested
  20. Realistically, I'd say: Stick it Out for Cold Fire Workin Them Angels for Armor and Sword
  21. I suppose I'll have to write a much detailed response a bit later. But for those of you saying he just doesn't write fills like he used to, you obviously haven't seen the Time Machine tour then. If you look at almost all the songs, Neil has re-written a MAJORITY of the big drum fills, into completely brand new ones. Take Marathon for example, the fill out of the last chorus into the rideout (Key Change from C# back down to is simply ridiculous. More all out than even the fill on the record.
  22. After. For reasons far too complex for most people to understand. zomg i wush h3 wud ply fster!
  23. 15th row in alex's section. Buddy bailed on me so my best friend is coming with me even though she's not a fan. First show on the floor and I couldn't be more excited!
  24. Great work. Wish it was in the right key though
  25. Got my portland tickets about a month ago. Saw them there on the 2nd leg of the snakes tour (my first show) and i really missed that venue when i saw them in seattle last year. We're in Alex's section, row 15. My first time with tickets on the floor, so I'm pretty pumped!
