  1. NOBODY could throw a complete "wobbler" like Cleese. Jones was good at being really weird.

I thought about riding today also. It was a freakishly warm day today at 61 degrees. the most chrome my bike has are the pipes and they`ll be replaced with flat black vance and hines in spring Ahhh... the stealth look. Pretty OK in my book. Enjoy your bike.
  3. It might be interesting to put Tony Iommi, Josh Homme, and Buzz Osbourne in the same room and see what happens...

QUOTE (goose @ Jan 1 2010, 08:08 PM) QUOTE (theworkingman @ Jan 1 2010, 06:18 PM) QUOTE (Fridge @ Jan 1 2010, 04:59 AM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jan 1 2010, 12:56 PM) Very good news, but....how is Cornell's voice these days? That was my concern too. If he's back on form then great news, but a lot of the credit for Soundgardens uniqueness goes to Cornells singing, so if he's not at the top of his game then that will take the shine off it.... His voice has sounded awesome in everything he's done the past decade since Soundgarden broke up. Here is the most recent video of him at the Pearl Jam show where all 4 Soundgarden members attended and Chris Cornell joined the band on stage for a Temple of the Dog reunion: (2:30-2:50 if there are any doubts) Nice! If they make another album, I doubt Cornell will sing the same way he did back in the Louder Than Love days... hey, he was in his 20's then. Really, though, this is great news. first AIC comes back with an excellent, excellent album, so hearing about Soundgarden gives me even more hope for a good year in music. I thought Soundgarden was a band whose albums kept on getting progressively better with each release. Saw them at Memorial Stadium in '94 with Reverend Horton Heat and the Screaming Trees. Fantastic show.
  7. QUOTE (Xanadoood @ Dec 14 2009, 09:06 AM) QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Dec 14 2009, 07:53 AM) All I want to know is where do you guys get the time to listen to all this obscure music. Oh yeah, and how are you hearing of all of these obscure bands in the first place? That is all. Just hanging out with other huge music fans, you pick up on a lot of obscure stuff. I'd say my excuse is because I live in a college town. The record/cd shops here are awesome. Some of them have a turntable or cd player so you can listen to the used stuff. Plus, I spend time reading music mags, album reviews, etc. This is a major hobby of mine.
  8. One of those bands from the Stoner Rock genre (what a bad label) I've always meant to check out further. As well as Atomic Bitchwax. Any recommendations for an album to start with?
  9. Fantastic band. If I were old enough to be in the know about music back then, I would have ahad a heyday with all the heavy/hard rock/metal bands from the beginning of the '70's. This is one of them. Squawk rocks!
  10. Smart musically, smart lyrically, they don't stop growing and learning. They don't retread the same path over and over. And yes, avoiding the "rock star" attitude. I got soooo tired of bands with thier binge and purge lifestyles.
  11. I've just barely heard of them. The review I read said it mostly sounded like Queens Of The Stone Age, like it was a bad thing. I'm a big fan of QOTSA (or anything Josh Homme, for that matter), so I may really like this.
  12. QUOTE (Drumnut @ Nov 9 2009, 01:06 AM) They're just the rest of the band that tours with Tommy Aldridge. Funny. I just checked out that site. Seems like he doesn't even want to mention his stint with Black Oak Arkansas by name in his bio. Shame. I like Black Oak...
  13. Hmmm... I did wear out a copy of OU812 in the tape deck of my Chevelle. Killer album. VH's last album of worth, IMO. Greatest American Band? Tenacious D
  14. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Oct 20 2009, 08:08 PM) QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Oct 20 2009, 02:50 PM) Vile. Truly vile. Down in the musical abyss with Bread, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor and the rest of the euthanasia choir. THREAD KILLER! You might have just "Axed" this topic! Actually I am not into James Taylor or Breat either. They put me to sleep. As for Fogelberg I do enjoy one record. I think you might like it. Dan's 1979 "Phoenix" album is excellent. America is underrated. Their "Greatest Hits" record has gone 4x Platinum. Not bad for a bunch of losers. Signed, Enter "Sandman" I pretty well agree with you here. Ventura Highway was a song I had forgotten about until the band I joined last spring wanted to play this song. It's a cool cruiser of a tune. We played it on our first gig. It makes me think of being a kid in the '70's, riding around in the back of the folk's Chevelle in Anchorage, AK.
  15. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Oct 3 2009, 03:17 AM) QUOTE (ozzy85 @ Oct 2 2009, 07:13 PM) QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Oct 2 2009, 06:33 PM) There's only one for me Dave. "BULLIT!" Best car chase scene in movie history. Besides I'm a Mustang guy! Earl Agreed. I had a green '67 coupe. The beginning of all the great car chase movies that followed in the '70's. Nice 85! Sorry for the typo! "BULLITT" RULES! Hell I was born in 1968! That was the year "Bullitt" came out. Same year the A's moved to Oakland. My first car was a 1970 Mustang. Second car, a 1990 GT. Black with a YYRUSHZ license plate. My third car was a 2004 Mach One. My head kept hitting the inside ceiling compartment so I turned it in for a 2007 Orange GT BOSS 302 California Custom Mustang. I love this car. Guess I should post a picture of her. The license plate on this vehicle is DRUMYYZ. Yep! I need some serious help. See you at the race track! Sincerely, "Red Barchetta" Slightly highjacked thread... Yeah, I get it. I work for a Ford dealership. Just prepped a Shelby GT 500 for delivery yesterday. I get to drive these cars. Wish my phone had a camera.
  16. QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Oct 6 2009, 09:46 AM) QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Oct 5 2009, 07:34 PM) Sakes... what's next, a remake of I Love Lucy featuring Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan? That would suck, but those two in a Laverne & Shirley remake might work! Maybe with Wilmer Valderrama as Lenny! ... And Steve Buscemi as Squiggy... Bring back the Squigtones!
  17. They need to come up with a new, different movie that encourages food fights in a theater.
  18. QUOTE (Mara @ Oct 5 2009, 06:23 PM) Featuring that barf bag on legs, Jim Carrey. No kidding! He drives me nuts. Let's put Nicholas Cage in there and Tom Cruise and have a total shitfest.

  20. "Warriors..." One of my all-time favorites. Surprised there's nothing from the Blues Brothers, though. That one's chock full of killer lines.
  21. Here's how it went at work at the car lot today... Damn, I don't think all that potato salad and beer yesterday is gonna do me any good today. Oops... *whew* (Gets in a trade-in to move to the lot.) WOW! I gotta park this thing and get outta here! My eyes are burning! (Hops out of car and closes the door, trapping the deadly cloud of gas inside.) One of the salesmen just got in that thing... ( ) What, dude? No, that car just smells like that. (Runs around corner back to the shop) ........
  22. No shiite, dude. Early MTV metal had some good moments. We thought we were real metal dudes with our Priest and Scorps and such... but there were some gems among the rubble in the '80's.
  23. Hmmm.... some good memories of Sister Christain on MTV... Go ahead, laugh. I did like that album. Their first couple of albums were good. For a bunch of guys who were "real metalheads", we considered these good pop/rock bands. Headbanger's Ball was a lot of fun back then when it started. what was it called before that? Heavy Metal Hour? I'm a little fuzzy on that one.
