  1. QUOTE (KennethRush @ Apr 8 2010, 02:37 PM) QUOTE (Andrew1 @ Apr 8 2010, 11:32 AM) One more thing. Could you explain the "troll" reference to me? I have no idea what that means. A troll is someone who says a bunch of stupid sh!t hoping to get negative attention in return, a troll's goal is to piss off others online. Got it. Negative feedback and pissing people off were never my intentions. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Well, I guess I'm not a troll. Just a douche.

(dare I say it!) the necromancer!! and I also think we'll hear the camera eye, all or at least some of it! think about it, just a quick little jaunt through some obscure places playing the long epic pieces which are mostly just music so Ged can save his voice a little bit.. maybe just wishful thinking. maybe I'm being delusional here but just a feeling I have You shouldn't have dared to say it. I'm so sick of hearing about TCE that I don't even want to hear it anymore! I know! I've heard it all and then some. Everyone is hoping you're right. People claiming they would orgasm if they heard it live again. Or better yet, having no problems dying the next day if they could just hear it one more time. You know what I'm talking about. We see this in the Forum all the time. The "What ifs?" and discussions about,"If Rush will have a midget with them on this tour?" Pretty common right? Not to some. These are the ones with the Vulcan mentalities who can't bear to let people hope and dream that it "could be possible this time around!" No. They will dig through every possible resource at their disposal hell-bent on crushing the hopeful's dreams of possibly hearing the elusive song again. I could care less, but I swear there are people who live in this Forum just to bash others. I think it's for the self-gratification and that's it. Pretty sad. Especially if their lives are the same as their dull, lifeless posts. These emotionless, logic-driven cyborgs do not think like we do. You know who you are! Their only purpose is to point out our stupid mistakes, (Who cares if they got the date wrong for a concert they attended 9 years ago?) or "There is no way in hell they will ever play that again! I heard Neil say so in a radio interview back in '82. You're stupid for even thinking that!" They don't say it exactly like that but it sure feels that way sometimes. I don't know which species is worse. The dreamers or the omnipotent Rush super-beings that are not even really alive. Then there are the rare "In-betweens". A combination of both. You will know when you encounter one of these vicious bastards. The last time I faced one will hopefully be my last. I didn't come back to TRF for a month because I felt "unworthy." That's what they do to you. Millions of years of evolution have honed their abilities to absolute perfection. Amazing really. It's what they do. They speak matter-of-factly and with brazen confidence while throwing in some witty anecdotes or amusing Rush stories to lure you in. Horrible. Doesn't hit you until the next morning and that's when you realize it. You don't know jack-shit about Rush. What were you even thinking? You finally come to terms with yourself that you lacked the mental capacity to even enjoy the music. They're beyond your comprehension all of the sudden. How stupid could you have been to think they would play TCE again? How could you not have noticed Alex's early signs of baldness during the PW tour? It was Terry Brown's disturbing affinity for a rare breed of Nepalese mountain goats that split he and Rush apart. You didn't know that? If you were a "true" Rush fan you would. They won't tell you directly either. They plant seeds in your mind. The effects are usually temporary but can be permanently scarring. After some therapy you will come to realize they're no different than you. You will return to TRF a more confident and fearless Rush fan. When I see a on one of my topics, I no longer feel like . I'm always . But seriously. It would be awesome if they played TCE. I know that they probably won't but what the hell? Let them talk about it. They know just as well as anybody the odds of that ever happening again. Everything about TCE is common knowledge anymore. We all know everything there is to know about that song am I correct. TRF needs to post some Camera Eye rules. Maybe have just one area on the Forum where you are allowed to talk about it. There would be swift strict justice delivered to anyone who breaks the rules. Brilliant. But seriously. TCE doesn't make me want to puke and I think everyone here is pretty decent. Only a few of the traits of the people described were based on my own experiences with the pricks. Am I being serious? Absolutely not. I'm just killing some time waiting for that timer to run out. Now if you'll excuse me. I have another adderol and cocaine milkshake to prepare. Until next time.....Oh wait, I guess they're playing TCE. I'm glad that's over with. Andrew you are a total douche! I said this was not to be taken seriously. I was just killing time. Why are you so pissed that you have to resort to name calling anyway? Wow! I haven't been called a douche in years. Thanks for commenting though! Let's do lunch sometime. You do, however, have some very valid and very funny points! I laughed reading this. . . And yeah, one cool thing about the upcoming shows is we will never have to endure any more "I want Rush to play The Camera Eye" threads anymore! Thanks Mara. I was wondering when you would show up. There were a few points I was trying to make along the way. Thanks for noticing. I always know these things can get brutal but I have to admit that being called a douche about knocked me out of my chair! That's just classic.

  8. QUOTE (ZachenFoot @ Apr 8 2010, 02:48 AM) I'm pulling an all-nighter. Sadly I have to be at school by 6:30 so I won't be here for the announcement If you were a "true" Rush fan you would skip. That's something you shouldn't even have to think about. Pathetic. It may have taken me seven years to get my Associates degree but at least I can say I never missed a single event or concert involving Rush. I left my wife in labor with our first child to see the VT tour. Sure, I missed the birth of my son but I can have more kids. I may never see 'Vital Signs' live again. Think about that one. A real mindbender isn't it? NO! It's not! It requires no thought at all! Priorities dude! Where's your mind? I'm kidding. I don't even have any children. You should go to school. You'll find out soon enough.

By my calculations the timer ends Thursday at 3pm PST, 6pm EST, and 11pm in the UK. Your calculations are wrong. I guess if you read it as hours minutes seconds then i'm wrong. I'm reading it as 1200 + minutes which is 20 hours. Nah, it's HHMMSS how do you know for sure? to me it's open to interpretation. i guess if people have been watching it like a hawk then they know it's hours, minutes, seconds. i honestly haven't been watching it that carefully. i care more about the new album in 2011 then i do about a tour... anyway, as you were... I know for sure because the first two digits were in the 40's when I first saw it. Guys! Guys! Are we seriously arguing about this shit? Please tell me you're not serious before I puke. Who gives a fu*k? Argue through personal messages because the way I see it, there's not going to be a winner. It's embarrassing. Especially if you're both over the age of 12. By the way, Blenderhead is right. I hope that when the timer runs out, your screens explode. Then you will have to find something better to do with your time. Like find girlfriends, or buy a goldfish. I hear the new HUSTLER is pretty good and it comes with a free 4 hour DVD. Maybe you both need some quality alone time if you get what I mean. Relax everyone. I'm kidding.

  13. QUOTE (Rendclaw @ Mar 30 2010, 09:14 PM) This kicks all kinds of ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp2gGqgn3Fw...player_embedded Saw this in the theater when I was 8. Still remember a lot of it. That was a great experience for an 8 yr. old. I've always loved sci-fi. Haven't seen it for about 15-20 years. Don't know if I want too. I saw 'The Black Hole' at the theater too and loved it. I saw it not to long ago and it was just horrible. I wonder what 'Tron' would seem like now? I don't know if I should risk spoiling a great childhood memory.
  14. QUOTE (Shifty @ Mar 30 2010, 07:20 AM) Still a few weeks away from the new season starting down here, thus I'm trying to avoid finding out what happens. Very much looking forward to it. You won't be disappointed.
  15. A midget running a hot dog stand should come out every 3 or 4 songs selling his product to strippers in wheelchairs wearing hockey masks. Before the next song, they would drag out these 8 foot replicas of those 'Star Wars' glasses from 'Burger King' one at a time. By the end of the show, he would have the whole collection behind him. No. That would be stupid. How about a giant lava lamp that shot sparks and lasers out of the top. Rock and Roll!

Spent a bit of the last couple months catching up on the first two seasons on Netflix. Ready to rock and roll real-time starting tonight...! Bring on the meth!!! This and Mad Men are the best shows I currently watch. Mad Men is a show I haven't checked out yet. If it's as good as Breaking Bad though, I'm there. This season of B.B. is going to get out of control! It's a far different kind of "just as good," but yes...it is. Started Mad Men a couple of nights ago. I rented the whole first season. It took a few episodes but we're starting to get hooked a little. Kind of getting the feeling that we haven't seen anything yet. Think it might be a winner.
  17. I'm in a hurry but I wanted to get a couple of thoughts out here. The season premiere was better than we expected. Totally worth the wait. I was kind of lost a couple times but it came back to me. It's been awhile since last season's finale. I forgot some stuff. Anyway, the two guys after Walt aren't fuc#ing around. They remind me of the Terminator. Can't wait to see how that turns out. Walt told his wife?! Don't know about that decision but she's pissed. He turned down the deal for 3 million. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of that guy. Walt is going to end up regretting that decision. Jesse accepted the fact that he's the "bad guy". I guess rehab backfired. He's a loose cannon now. Poor Walt. Can't wait for tonight. I have some questions. Who do the two guys after Walt work for again and what did he do? Why was everybody, including them crawling toward that shrine? Couldn't figure that one out. All hell is about to break loose I know that. Kick ass show.

  19. QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 21 2010, 12:17 PM) Okay, the thread title scared me! Haven't seen, and don't plan on seeing, any of these teen follies. I read the first book and that was sufficient. From what I hear, I'm amazed you even finished the first book. I'm told the writing is just not good.
  20. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Mar 21 2010, 11:17 AM) QUOTE (Andrew1 @ Mar 21 2010, 11:14 AM) I'm kidding! Did you see those wolves? They look like toys. They weren't even remotely scary. After the success of the first film, you would think they could afford some decent C.G.I.. Blu-ray makes them look even more fake. The Geico gecko is more convincing. I don't like Twilight. The books or the movies. Stop paying these 'Gossip Girl' and '90210' rejects so much damn money and invest in some visuals. Some of us are forced to sit and watch this schlock with our wives or girlfriends. Give the guys something to watch too. We are not that hard to entertain. Sometimes some decent special effects are all we need to get through a couple of hours of cinematic hell. I was thinking about drinking bleach and then setting myself on fire. That's not good. My God! Even the main vampire is a pretty boy wuss. Bram Stoker is in hell. Don't hold back, brother! Tell us how you really feel! I know right!? I was just getting started too. I had to stop myself because I couldn't allow New Moon to suck any more life out of me. The movie itself makes you feel like you've been fed on by a real vampire.

  22. Breaking Bad season premiere tonight at 10 p.m. on amc. We've been waiting for this show to come back for awhile and we're stoked. Anyone out there watching the best series on television tonight? This is a kick-ass show you guys. Can you tell I'm excited? Well that's because I am! Who's watching tonight! If you like Breaking Bad then you're really super cool. If you don't like it, then you're just O.K..

In fact, I bought the DVD because I had heard how fantastic it was. I watched it once and thought it was a good concept, but poorly executed. It was far too wordy and would have benefitted from some trimming. Oh, and rule number one of Video Vertigo is: Thou shalt not compare any director to the great and wonderful Ridley Scott! I'm curious to what you thought was poorly executed but fair enough. You mentioned Ridley Scott so you're in my cool book. I didn't know about the rule. Sorry about that. Can't wait to see the ALIEN prequel he might be directing. Sir Ridley Scott is great and wonderful, but I'm pretty sure SUNSHINE was better than 'Matchstick Men'. I could be wrong.... Rule number two is: thou shalt not mention Matchstick Men! Thanks for the kind words and I must say say that your post has me thinking I should give Sunshine a second look. I edited my post but to late. You did explain the poorly executed statement. My fault. No Matchstick Men? There are to many rules here!
