  1. Wow, my fellow Rush fans are a serious lot. I was just posting the picture because I thought it humorous. That being said, I'm with Goob, I'd like to see them in. An when they are finally inducted, I am quite certain that most of us here will be posting, "its about time", "Cheers", "Congrats", etc. I'm also, fairly certain, that they won't turn it down and will say things like, "this is an honor", etc. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone! ~Peace, Love, Rush, RGLT http://a1.ec-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/13/55b91ba06e924acaa5036b66777a3529/m.jpg

  3. QUOTE (HalfwayToGone @ Aug 30 2012, 08:19 PM) I haven't gotten anything yet, email or otherwise. I chose standard shipping, so there may not be any sort of tracking number. Just have to sweat it out. I don't really get too worked up over which number I'm getting. I'll be happy when they show up. I did see an actual image of the slipcover on ebay--someone's already selling one that they received in the mail. Looks sharp. You said, "I'll be happy when they show up." You wouldn't happen to have an extra copy for a Rush fan in need, would you? Can't wait to read this one.

  5. QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 26 2012, 01:29 PM) QUOTE (ScottT67 @ Jun 19 2012, 03:44 AM) My last Rush show in Vegas, there was this couple there together at the show. On HER demands, they had the wedding in Vegas so they could include a Rush show as part of the honeymoon! Would I ever get that lucky? One way to a Rush gal's heart is spelling "the holy triumvirate" correctly

  9. QUOTE (KMH @ Aug 28 2012, 01:44 AM) Clint is home from the hospital. It was decided that the best environment for him is the home environment, so that's where he is. Plus, his mom will make damn sure that he keeps his activity to a minimum so he can heal quickly and comfortably. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. They are very much appreciated. Thanks for the update... ...will continue to send good thoughts and prayers for him and for his family.
  10. HAPPY 8th ANNIVERSARY LADIRUSHFAN80!!!
  11. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Jun 27 2007, 08:09 PM) I saw Dylan with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers way back in 1986. Still one of the best concerts I've ever been too. I've seen Dylan many times since then and, unfortunately, he never reached the level he did with Petty. I caught all three nights at The Garden with Heartbreakers on the True Confessions Tour on 15,16 & 17 July 1986. Those shows were particularly inspired. http://posterscene.com/images/items/full/dylanandpetty.jpg
  12. Great thread, thanks for starting it! I can't wait for the new album and tour with Mark Knopfler. I just finished a Dylan listening marathon, where I listened to every Dylan studio and live album in chronological order. It took about two weeks and it was an incredible musical odyssey with one of music's greatest. My pick's for Dylan's albums... 1960's - "Highway 61 Revisited" 1970's - "Street Legal" or "Blood on the Tracks" 1980's - "Oh Mercy" or "Infidels" 1990's - "Time Out of Mind" 2000's - "Modern Times" Live - "Bob Dylan at Budokan" ...thanks for posting the new song, this was my first listen and I really like what I hear. http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/indie/bobbyd.jpg
  13. My thoughts and prayers are with Clint... ...it is amazing what medical advancements can do. Please keep us updated as to his progress. ~Peace, RGLT
  14. QUOTE (treeduck @ Aug 24 2012, 01:19 PM) Is it more or less heavy metal than the original version? Much more metal ... even The Duck would like it!
  15. Greetings, I just travelled from New Jersey to Pittsburgh to see them. I had front seats and the show was amazing! Lita Ford was pretty good...sadly she played to an almost empty venue as few people had filed in by then. The big surprise for me was Poison. I wasn't prepared for how good they would be. I bought their greatest hits record to prime for the show and they played the hits. As a band, they were tight as could be. I was going to skip the first two acts and am glad I didn't. Def Leppard was truly amazing...of course stuck to the hits. Opened with their new song from "Mirrorball" entitled, "Undefeated". The crowd was into it. Def Leppard, as a band, is always spot on. Joe Elliott's voice was picture perfect the night I saw them. TRF member, USB Connector posted a great review in the concert review section. (Page 23 from 17 July). http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=9400&st=440 Enjoy the show and be sure to post back your review! ~Cheers, RGLT

  17. QUOTE (PrismEye @ Aug 25 2012, 08:56 AM) And if Pet Sounds is great (which it is of course)... Holy cow, listen to the SMiLE sessions!!!!!!!!! Regardless of those who pass the project off as a drug experiment, this is some of the most intuitive and genius material for its time and even currently today! Just listened to this masterpiece the other day... ...it is simply amazing!
  18. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 23 2012, 10:36 PM) people REALLY like great expectations? QUOTE You're sittin' in your seat And then you stand and clutch your breast Our music drives you wild along with the rest You watch me singing this song You see what my mouth can do And you wish you were the one I was doing it to And you watch me playin' guitar And you feel what my fingers can do And you wish you were the one I was doing it to Well, listen You've got great expectations You've got great expectations You're dying to be seen And you wave and call my name But in the day it seems that I'm a million miles away You watch me beatin' my drum And you know what my hands can do And you wish you were the one I was doing it to Well, listen You've got great expectations You've got great expectations You've got great expectations Then you feels these eyes from the stage And you see me staring at you And you hear between the lines, my voice is calling to you Well, listen You've got great expectations You've got great expectations You've got great expectations, do you want to play the role You've got great expectations, you'd even sell me your soul You've got great expectations You've got great expectations You've got great expectations, do you want to play the role You've got great expectations, you'd even sell me your soul You've got great expectations, as long as you can play the role You've got great expectations all that with a choir so people still like this song? is that your final answer? I'd have to answer "yes" as my final answer. Hey, people are different with different like and dislikes. There are people here who really think that "Dog Years" is a great song. In a dog's life A year is really more like seven And all too soon a canine Will be chasing cars in doggie heaven
  19. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 23 2012, 04:52 PM) QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Aug 23 2012, 02:24 PM)"Destroyer" is, in my opinion, KISS' best album start to finish...there is not a dud or filler on it. Wow, so are you saying the new version eliminates Flaming Youth, Sweet Pain, and especially the horrendously embarrassing piece of garbage that is Great Expectations? Absolutely, "Flaming Youth" and "Sweet Pain" have benefited the most from the remixing of the guitars sound being brought forward. Again, the drumming is amazing. As for, "Great Expectations", the beginning piano part is more pronounced and it isn't "hidden" at all. Also, the choir section is much more intense. Listening to it today (for the 3rd time), it is almost as if the piano/choir section was intentionally toned down on the original release. Here, with them much more prominent, it really makes the song. Not a lot you can do with it lyrically, but hey, that's KISS for you...an ode to their female fans back in the day. You should give it a listen...after all, I was right about CA, right?
