Funny Janie. I was curious about the weed industry and wanted to see what it was like. I couldn't find one place that sold weed downtown. I stayed at the Palladian and walked all over. Couldn't find one place within a reasonable distance. Beautiful city. People were mildly polite. That really struck me about Seattle. I thought they'd be handing out joints at the airport when you arrive. So, yeah, pot is legal here but can be difficult to find a shop. There are constant issues with stores selling (it seems like). Pot stores are nowhere near as prevalent as Starbucks. Seattle is so funny. And confused. We don't know if we want to be wired or mellow so we've become a city of chilled out hyper folk. The food and company I had was outstanding. Really excellent moment in my life. Space Needle...was it worth it? For the video I captured--absolutely! $3 bucks for a train from the Airport to downtown. Bring your wheelbarrow...no matter what she says! The Space Needle is cool. I have been on (the observation deck!), in, near that thing so many times and it never gets old. I will always go to the Needle. I love standing below it and looking up. It's an amazing, awe-inspiring structure. Truly. Mesmerized at age 5, still mesmerized. I don't think Seattle is too expensive. Housing? Yes. Regular stuff and junk though? I don't think so. Compared to NYC or San Fran.

Forgive me if some of this has already been answered... You only have about one week to visit, right? Are you into sightseeing? Do you want to see a city and do all those quintessential touristy things? Do you like the big city or more small town? Are you a city guy or a country guy? If you really like the big city then I would probably visit NYC or Chicago, personally I would lean towards NYC. Much more to do. Chicago has a lot of what NYC has but NYC will have more options. Plus, you will be close to Boston and you will get a good feel for early America, history and architecture. Or, are you more of a nature guy, into hiking, camping, etc? If that's the case then maybe plan for a Midwest trip?? A good in-between option is of course Seattle/Portland. Some big city life and some nature. It's all new over here on the west coast. Not a lot of impressive architecture of historical buildings though. Again though, it comes down to what you're interested in. You only have one week here so make it perfect! It should be exactly what you are into. Of course everyone who lives in the States is going to say their city is the best. You should only listen to me though because, truly, Seattle is the best. ;) Oh and to answer your pot question earlier, you CANNOT smoke in public. So, I'll have to get you stoned indoors. :) She forgot to mention to bring a wheelbarrow...because you'll need it to haul all the money you'll be spending. Weed ain't that expensive. Nor is pizza. Or Cheetos. Or Cap'n Crunch.

I can't... why are we even... this is not conversation worthy. THE answer IS Hot Wheels. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/over.gif

IDK. I don't think there will be one, they just seem... done; however, I find it odd they didn't end the tour in Toronto. I would think they would have a huge grand finale in their hometown. I think it was to accomodate Neil, He does live there. I think Neil has, does and always will scare the poo out of Geddy and Alex. Gotta keep the big man happy because he'll either kick your butt or spout random bits of sheer awesome brilliance until you cower to his every whim. I kid. Neil is fantastic and amazing, as are Geddy and Alex, of course. I'm sure ending in LA had more to do other than that's where Neil lives.

Obvious. A classy, calm, chill, mellow exit. Well done.

Hey, I mentioned Seattle! Just a great, cool town with a lot to offer. Seattle has almost too much too offer. I know everyone loves their own city but I really mean it when I say I love this city. The possibilities here are endless. So much to do and see. There's a lure of attraction here, seriously. It's a fabulous place to call home, or visit, for that matter. And if you don't think that right away, just get some Seattle beer. You'll be all loving, warm, toasty and proclaiming your love for us in no time. And if the beer doesn't make you feel that way, the pot will. It's amazing here. Both. Or either.

Had an eye exam this morning. Got myself some new specs. I like them.

And if you date girls, you're even less likely to have luck finding a Rush fan. If I were single, I would be up for dating a woman but she would HAVE to like Rush. With men, it's a given. I feel like I wouldn't need to ask, "Do you like Rush?" With women, I'd have to ask. I have loads of female friends and most don't even like rock music. It's an auditory nightmare to be in a car with them. Bitches love themselves the Bieber pop music (for the record, I actually typed, "poop" instead of pop, twice, as I tried to correct my spelling mistake).

Seattle. Now. Do it. Seriously. We have some great cafes. Good weather, great coffee, amazing music history, decent beer and... holding this out for last because of sheer awesomeness, we have the most disgustingly fun germ-ridden attraction... bubblegum wall. http://st.depositphotos.com/1007971/1397/i/950/depositphotos_13979162-Seattle-Gum-Wall.jpg

It's different being a girl. A lot, if not most, of the guys I ever dated liked Rush to some extent. Most guys like Rush. Most girls, do not. So, it's easy being a female Rush fan because you know at some point you'll see some Rush in your guy's music collection.

Its a mouthful, East Village Lounge: Cigars and Jazz. The company is Enid Cigar and Jazz Inc. http://www.enidcigar.com/ look for us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter... ;) Awesome! Good luck!! Wish I could go, even though cigars aren't exactly for women. I've never tried one but have always wanted too. Just to see what it's like. That lounge in LA looks very nice.

After three days, my sore throat and laryngitis are finally going away. I can resume yelling at people again without sounding like an angry squeak toy. ;)

Yeah, I forgot you have bassett hounds too, LOL. What are their names? This picture is FANTASTIC!! I love basset hounds. I wish we could get another dog. It would be a basset.

Babycat, you're in the UK, right? I'm curious if they have it in Europe. 5-Hour Energy is huge over here. Whoever invented this stuff has made a boatload of money! The drink has only been around for a few years too, I think.
-
I'm thinking you think it means something other than the energy drink? Or do I not know what the thread title really means?! http://cdn.meme.am/instances/500x/55847121.jpg It's an energy drink? :o Yes Babycat, it's an energy drink. JohnRogers posted a pic of what the bottle looks like. The bottles are really tiny. There's only a few sips of liquid in each bottle. It's supposed to give you a lot of energy. It comes in many different flavors too, all very tart. It's ok I guess. It doesn't really work for me but then again, I have a high caffeine tolerance so maybe that's why. The drink doesn't actually contain caffeine though, so I'm curious why I don't get the same energy surge as others. It's a massive dose of vitamins really. As with many threads, sometimes it's easy to poke fun at things and then everything quickly devolves! And yes, I said, "poke." :P

Love the glasses! So cute. I wish more people wore glasses. The cute factor goes way up when ones sports the eyewear.

Happy birthday, Cyclonus X-1! / Congratulations on 40,000 posts!

A birthday AND a post congrats?! I'm breaking out my best mom moves for this one! http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/mom-moves.gif All. Day. For you. :) -
What if one does not have the nards?
-
I know this is wrong and not all that healthy but a lot of times, I won't eat anything until later in the day, around 4pm and then have a triple espresso and maybe some chocolate. The energy surge is incredible.

I think he is having a good time BECAUSE he knows it is coming to an end. The soreness, the travel, the being away from family, I am glad he is having fun, but IMO, it's not because he'll miss it. You know how when you give a 2 week notice for a job, and you are actually happy to go in to work? You can approach it 2 ways, go through the motions or give it your best for 2 weeks. It's on the employee. And Neil is a great employee dedicated to his skill. You are anticipating something new. A new beginning. And that feeling is awesome. Yeah, they are done after this. They shared with us the majority of their lives, now they need to retire, relax and spend time with their families. No more tours, no more albums. They need to lay down and reflect. Preferably in a hammock. Wearing one of those beer hats, filled with wine though of course.
