  1. When I heard they were going to play all of I&W I thought it would be super difficult on him (especially Another Day, maybe Take the Time or Learning to Live too)
  2. Hahaha, yeah you get used to that but it's weird I agree.
  3. Well it's early but how about the new temp (who has been here 2 days) having to be called at 7:10am and WOKEN UP when he's supposed to have been at work at 7:00?
  4. Anyone else think this chick was probably a smokeshow 40 years ago? Hahahaha. Oh yeah, and don't grab a bunny by its nuts!
  5. I said the same thing when they fired Charlie. I love When Dream and Day Unite, I consider it extraordinarily underrated. That having been said, James is an upgrade from Charlie. I only bought this a few months ago and aside from a couple really great songs (A Fortune in Lies!) it hasn't grabbed me that much yet. It might be the production I don't like much either. But his snare sounds better than I&W's snare, I'll give it that.
  6. Still haven't seen that. I heard Val Kilmer is pretty awesome in that too. He steals the film. The best Russel part in that movie BY FAR is the intimidation scene towards the beginning. I think he bitch slaps the guy LOL it is worth the price of admission alone. He falls far off from there afterwards, but he's still good. EDIT here it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnXgVcrcyWM
  7. hey, I'm wearing my venom shirt. cronos should replace labrie. Just replace DT with Venom. At least they don't sound clinical. So what is it with you? You like DT on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and hate them the others? XD
  8. I love James' voice but live it isn't good half of the time. Luckily when I saw them for The Astonishing tour he sounded REALLY great. In the studio he's always great. That being said his live voice even when off is still light years ahead of poor Geddy (but in 10 more years, who knows?) -- It wouldn't be DT without James though. I don't want another singer for this band.
  9. My vote: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olQHy4XUXa0
  10. Still haven't seen that. I heard Val Kilmer is pretty awesome in that too. AND he's your Huckleberry!
  11. Even Rocky or Die Hard, Pulp Fiction and Sixth Sense? Those are classics regardless. I'd add Sin City to that list. Willis was great in that.
  12. The Godfather! I also think I'm in that small camp that liked the first one a lot more than the second. Not saying Godfather Pt. 2 is bad- it's great- but it's not a better movie IMO.
  13. Well the Great Circle Tour has officially started with this warm up gig in Sydney a few hours ago. This setlist is UNBELIEVABLE, maybe the best one they've ever done. 29 friggin' songs! http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/midnight-oil/2017/selinas-coogee-bay-hotel-sydney-australia-6be6deb2.html Outside World Only the Strong Redneck Wonderland Put Down That Weapon Maralinga Cold Cold Change Bus to Bondi Back on the Borderline Koala Sprint No Reaction Stand in Line Profiteers It It Now? Tin Legs & Tin Mines When the Generals Talk Ships of Freedom Lurjita Way Dead Heart Power & The Passion Best of Both Worlds Shakers & Movers Lucky Country Beds are Burning Blue Sky Mine Read About It Wedding Cake Island Forgotten Years Dreamworld US Forces I mean holy shit they basically play all of Head Injuries from 1979.
  14. Just have one made. :D Yeah it's a screw in a black box on a blue background, it's not Hugh Syme territory or anything :)
  15. Especially since the only RUSH songs you ever hear on the radio at all are either from MP or PeW. Not around here. In addition to TS, Limelight, Spirit and Freewill, we get heavy play for Working Man, FBN, CTTH, Trees, Circumstances, Subdivisions and New World Man. That's awesome! I do remember when Counterparts was just coming out they played Stick It Out on alternative stations but this was a LOOOONG time ago.
  16. Or the hat... Or Alex's camel toe. http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/images/albums/2112-back.jpg Better still it looks like Geddy lost the "I WANNA KEEP THE CAMEL TOE!" fight in this picture.
  17. Especially since the only RUSH songs you ever hear on the radio at all are either from MP or PeW.
  18. Harry Mudd? Bah, I'd almost rather they make up all new characters at this point. Same thing with having Sarek in this. They already soured me on "prequel".
  19. That's a great point. To me (and probably everyone else) Megadeth is and always will be: Mustaine Ellefson Friedman Menza
  20. Try Seasons in the Abyss by Slayer. That's a great album that covers a range of music and isn't all GO GO GO KILL KILL KILL!
  21. You take minor things like this way too seriously. It's just a cover band. Enjoy the cheap night out. Oh yeah, it's just an f'n cover band! Were you expecting music from every single decade ever? They played music from 3 different decades of the modern era. Sounds like they were ok to me. Plus, bar bands play music to out asses in the seats not to play cool deep cuts on,y appreciated by a few. One of the reasons my semi pro days were cut short. I couldn't stomach being forced to play shitty pop songs I didn't like. Good for you , man. I was never semi-pro however when I actually played in real bands in my late teens / early 20s I hated covers with a passion. I would much rather do originals that nobody would know than play "Enter Sandman" or "Would?" again. One time we did "Thunderkiss '65" though. And that was pretty cool haha.
  22. I never understood that position. For a fan base of such thinkers how can't they grasp that ridges look cool, make the Klingons look more menacing and that prosthetic ridges was just beyond the budget of the original show. It is really that simple. It's established. It's been referenced on multiple series. If it was consistently ignored there would be no problem, but it hasn't been ignored. Yes, it could be seen as nitpicking, but that's part of the fun of being a fan of the show. So from that point, an explanation has been made convoluted it may be but ridges were explained. Ridges appear in much more Star Trek than ridgeless Klingons. Ergo ridges should appear in Discovery. Honestly, at the end of the day, I don't really care. All I am saying, as a Star Trek fan, is that during the Star Trek time period that Discovery is taking place, it's established that Klingons do not have ridges. As convoluted as it seems or is. It's been established in the canon? I know of no official decree about anything in Star Trek TV shows or films being "canon". With so many time-travelling and alternate universe conflicts, the possibilities for any species - Human, Klingon, etc. - are endless. The only "canon" about Star Trek is that anything goes. The changes to Klingon anatomy in The Next Generation and other series and films were a great move. They look like a real alien species - not just humans with goatees. I get it. And I don't disagree. I'm just pointing out that it was explained why the ridges disappeared. And for the record, sans the animated series, anything on the television shows and the movies is considered canon. I know it's true because I read on the internet and some official Star Trek book now gathering dust on my book shelf. I have quite a few of those books, and I know what Okudagrams are. I have the ENT-D blueprint book, the complete DS9 episode behind the scenes guide or whatever it is for all 7 seasons, and "The Klingon Way" which has phrases and etc. in both English and Klingon. And somewhere I also have the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition. It's amazing I'm married and have children when you think about it!
  23. A lot of Dead Alive was hard to watch when I was a teenager but halfway through I think you get desensitized to the grossness of it all.
  24. It might have more to do with the production for a lot of metal too: Gated snare drums, tinny guitars with no balls. And yeah, I'm sure synths are part of this too haha.
  25. I don't know, this is shaping up to be a contender for the worst. Already have reformatted Klingons AGAIN.
