  1. QUOTE (30kwpa @ Apr 7 2011, 05:24 PM) Wear a "fat suit" like Alex and sneak in your girl or boyfriend(s). Or maybe some illegals to fetch your concessions and empty your stadium pal. Or maybe a black t-shirt that says I Just Peed Myself in hot pink or glow in the dark stuff. Maybe where a Elvis-like sequined suit and a Limbaugh mask. Just go naked with a red encircled star sandwich board. Just have someone paint cloths on you. Maybe a nice striped deal like The Cat in The Hat or a skyline of your town or your fav RUSH lp cover like Pink Floyd did (Back Catalog). How about a top hat with a cake in it and sparklers. Or edible nachos bowl hat complete with salsa, guacamole and queso. How about getting a nice sausage costume and safety pinning mustard packets and other condiments all over it. If close to Easter, you could nail yourself to a cross. Nah... better not. How about a nice outfit made of aluminum can pop top / pull tabs... A cobra hat with an arrow through it. No, thats last tour. I'd wear a red and white checker board table cloth and staple several types of frozen pizza slices to it with a blue grass skirt, rainbow leg warmers, cutoff Gene Simmons boots, those neck stretching rings and a golden took with Oscar Mayer weenie whistles all over it. But probably depending on the weather, black sweats and black sneakers or a dark blue tank top, grey shorts with pockets, a white beach/fishing hat and UNC Tar Heels flip flops. Just sayin'..... OMG...thanks for the laugh dude.
  2. Good luck sneaking those drinks into UC! And don't even TRY to light up in the bathroom near section...oh wait, never mind.
  3. Sec 213 wont be so bad...they have huge screens, so you won't need binoculars (I tried binocs once at a concert...too distracting trying to focus). I was in Sec 316 for THE WALL...the seats were better than I thought they'd be. What not to bring? Complaints about the setlist. Otherwise..enjoy the show, you'll have a blast. I will be there somewhere (not sure where my seats are located).
  4. Here's my 2 cents: I get annoyed if I'm 20 rows back on the floor, lets say aisle seat, and guys with inner seats keep moving past me to get from their seats during the concert to get beer and more beer. Dont get me wrong...I love beer. But constantly asking me to move so they can get past...yea, it ruins my enjoyment of the concert. And heck, these guys paid for their seats. Now, assume I'm way closer to stage, but still on the aisle. I may have to deal with the beer drinkers noted above. But now I have to be bothered with letting friends of friends of the real ticket holder, who is in my aisle, get by me to "trade seats" for a little while at the show. Convince me that this is NOT ruining my enjoyment of the show. IMO, this is even worse than the beer runners...they own their seats...but the single seat belongs to the original ticket holder only and shouldn't be 'rented out' to a bunch of people. If you're going to do this, then don't abuse it and do it during intermission only...no problem. Once the show starts, only legitimate ticket holders of my aisle really have the "right" to ask me to move so they can get to, or leave, their seats. Next, this 1/2 row seating discussion, where 2 people crowd in to 1 seat location by "piggy-backing". If I'm seated on either side, I'd be annoyed, because now I have to deal with 2 people in that single seat location (more noise, potential for beer spillage, potential for twice as much weed getting smoked...wait, scratch that last one). And if I'm directly behind them, now I have to try to see around 2 heads instead of 1. So yeah, that person is inconveniencing the legit ticket holder(s) in the immediate vicinity. Bottom line: I paid for my seat. So did many other people. I love this band probably as much as many of you here. Love of the band has absolutely nothing to do with this topic. Be considerate of your neighbor. Don't ask them to move too often so you can get beer/piss/smoke/text/chat...whatever. Trading seats is OK if you don't abuse it, and do it at an opportune time in the show. And definitely don't crash the floor if you don't have a ticket...to me, that demonstrates the true "wealth envy" of a person. Next?
  5. Here's the linky. http://www.wlup.com/music/concertcalendar/listings.aspx
  6. Rescheduled CHICAGO SHOW from 7/7 to 8/23. Looks like at Charter One again.
  7. I was really pumped for the show, and read alot of the threads that took the setlist to task. I was in the camp of "thank god Rush is touring, stop all the whining about the setlist." I was excited to hear Presto & Faithless. I have to agree with OP. I enjoyed the show, but certainly not one of Rush' best. Painful to watch Alex deal with all the guitar mishaps. I was in Sec 5, the crowd was not into it as much as I'd seen with the S&A Summerfest gig. First setlist did not fully engage the crowd...alot of sitting, texting, etc. I was standing for alot of the show, at one point during the 1st set, a lady behind me asked "do you think you can sit down?" Boy did this get me steamed...you want to sit, fine, but don't expect me to...I paid for my seats too. Anyway, I'd also rate the show a 3. It was incredible to hear all of MP, and Camera Eye live. Loved the videos too. But overall, Rush was not as good as their S&A legs...those shows really set the bar high imo. I'd have to agree that a few of their songs in 1st set should probably be resplaced to get the crowd back into it (SIO, Faithless..). That being said, I love this band and am grateful for the opportunity to hear them play. I hope they continue to tour...I will always support them.
  8. Too funny. I had just gotten home and the first words out of my 12 yr old daughter's mouth was "Dad, Rush was on Waverly Place..." and proceeded to recreate the scene. Forget about the "hey Dad, how was your day...". Nope, she had to tell me about Rush first. I've raised her right...I guess 2 Rush shows can do that, with her 3rd show....MILWAUKEE... in a week. WOOHOO! Look for her, front row of Sec 5 right next to sec 6, she'll have her RUSH posters ready.
  9. OT. Trying to add the picture of my daughter at Milw show to my signature, but am having problems. Can anyone help? Not sure if the Shutterfly link is working.
  10. Taking my 12 yr old daughter to her 3rd Rush show in Milwaukee. She is a HUGE fan that has been listening to them for about 3 years now (she'll often listen to Rush on MP3 after I pick her up from a tough day of swim practice...she says need to listen to Rush when she gets really stresed). Anyway, for Milw show, she spent a ton of time making a great poster poster for the S&A tour, as she was hoping to get sticks from Neil (we were in Sec 3, row M). Before the show, Michael's sister stopped to chat with the couple next to us, and we ended getting some S&A picks from her. Never got sticks, though Alex did manage to hit me in the face with a Henhouse shirt before 1st encore. I was so busy holding her poster up for the band that it took me a couple seconds to realize what had happened...and by the time I dropped the poster to search the ground for the shirt, it was gone. Anyway, look for the same poster, and a new one...in Sec 5 row A aisle right next to section 6. We're going to try to hang them on the railing.
