  1. This Tuesday, I'll be heading to Best Buy to pick up these three records: 1. new Thursday album (Common Existence), a band whom I'm not too familiar with, though I did enjoy their last record; 2. new TV on the Radio record (Nine Types of Light), a band I've heard nothing but good things about for the past two years, though I've failed to listen to an album of theirs; 3. new Foo Fighters record (Wasted Light), a band where I know a couple of their songs but I don't own an album of theirs. So basically, these are my gateways into these bands. I hope I enjoy all of them, which I probably will to some extent...
  2. Working Man Fly by Night Closer to the Heart The Spirit of Radio Freewill Tom Sawyer Red Barchetta (occasionally) Limelight Subdivisions (somewhat frequently) New World Man (I think I've heard it here...) I don't listen to radio anymore, but this is pretty comprehensive, considering I'd been listening to the local dadrock station for more than a decade.

It was originally written as two words in the early troll science comics. Learn your internet history because I kick it old school. Technically, it could be argued that it started as "you mad", right? http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/c/c6/YOU_MAD.jpg

IMO, of course. I have to agree. I was really disappointed, considering my love for "Funeral." I recently downloaded Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars and am in love. I'll also agree. There's only a few good tracks and the rest are all crap. Funeral and Neon Bible are much better. And I know it seems like the opinion of virtually every fan of Arcade Fire, but it's how I genuinely feel. I've listened to Funeral and Neon Bible once each, yet I loved them on their first listen. The Suburbs got a few spins before I realized that I probably wasn't gonna like it.

  9. I'm listening to Bona Drag now, and I think it's completely blown the door wide open in terms of me wanting to explore Morrissey's catalog, as well as to explore The Smiths some more. How is it possible that of the 40-odd Morrissey songs that I know, that I only really dislike one?
  10. Not the best day I've had, nor the worst... I tried to hang out with one friend, but she said she wasn't able. The second person I wanted to hang with basically posted an invitation on Facebook about wanting people to hang with her, then said "no thanks" when I offered. Then, the next two were busy with their proms and whatnot. So, to get my mind off of all of that, I took an impromptu drive that was supposed to get my mind off of those things, but, well, it didn't. And, on top of all of that, it was raining or overcast all day. I swear, I make one step towards optimism and increased social activity, then make one damn step back.
  11. The new live album from Green Day is pretty awesome. Pretty good setlist, too, it represents every album but Warning, which sucks, but it's nice to see the first two albums get some love. New Green Day > OLD old Green Day >>>>> middle Green Day
  12. QUOTE (Cosy Toes @ Mar 22 2011, 07:20 PM)Geddy's a cultural not religious Jew. Thank you. He's not doing it to offend anyone... hell, he may not even realize the conflict of events.
  13. My cat just showed up after being gone for two weeks! Since he rarely, if ever, leaves for a long time, it's awesome since we thought he had run off to die. I'm so glad that's not the case. Welcome home, Oliver!
  14. So right now, my concert lineup is: My Chemical Romance/Thursday/The Architects - May 11, The Tabernacle, Atlanta GA Rush - June 8, Bi-Lo Center, Greenville SC Panic! At the Disco are playing The Tabernacle the week after school gets out and I'm talking with a friend of mine about going to that. The thing is, I'd rather spend the night in Atlanta than drive for two and a half hours to get home, which is what I'm doing for MCR... however, my friend is a girl, and I don't want her parents to be worried and whatnot. I'll talk to her parents... it's not like I could (or would) do anything, since her dad has known my parents for 30 years or so
  15. >ride to Augusta State for college orientation >decide to put on The Chronic by Dr. Dre >I'm a white kid in Toyota Corolla riding around listening to Dre on crappy iPod speakers >nonetheless, shit was so cash I felt awesome doing that. Can't wait to get my own car and a good stereo so I can drive around and do this
  16. QUOTE (Kenneth @ Mar 19 2011, 05:09 PM)I had a dream I was listening to Fly From Here and it was the best album since GFTO... My dream will come true To some Yesfans, that may not take much effort
  17. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 19 2011, 12:11 AM)QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Mar 18 2011, 11:34 PM) I'm listening to a best-of by The Replacements for the first time, and I think I've found another great band. Let...It...Be... The tracks on the compilation that came from Let it Be and Tim were the ones I enjoyed the most. I'll look into getting those two records, but it might be a while... I'd like to put a dent in my library and listen to some more music that I haven't listened to in a while. Not to worry, I'll spend some more time getting familiar with this compilation like I did with the Morrissey compilation that I have.

  20. It was like 85 degrees today, and I drove out to the lake to take it in. Didn't spend much time there because the water's still cold, but it's always such a sight to see.
  21. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 17 2011, 11:40 PM) Yep, Greed Day is overrated, so very overrated. Did you ever listen to American Idiot?
  22. QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Mar 12 2011, 06:03 PM)The Doors (everyone likes them because Jim Morrison was soo cool dropping acid in the desert, ooooo! psh) Prove to me that every single person likes The Doors because of this.
  23. QUOTE (Show Don't Tell @ Mar 11 2011, 06:05 PM)Two words: SHARP! DISTANCE! How can the wind with its arms all around me Also, congrats on FINALLY listening to Fragile
  24. QUOTE (Lamelight @ Mar 7 2011, 04:09 PM)QUOTE (Babycat @ Mar 7 2011, 09:35 AM)QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Mar 6 2011, 02:20 AM) My cat has been gone for several hours. This is quite unlike him... Oh, and CM, I know what you mean about bad refs. They were shite in ASU's game tonight, even though we won; the women's game that happened before it could have had a different outcome if the refs hadn't missed a foul call in the last few seconds. Has your cat come back yet? Hope he has! He hasn't, and probably won't considering his age. I can find solace in the fact that he feels better now than he's been feeling. I just wish I could have said a proper goodbye...
