  1. QUOTE (moedrabowsky @ Jul 18 2010, 10:12 PM) QUOTE (WIDE-ANGLE WATCHER @ Jul 18 2010, 08:55 PM) They should drop Faithless for Anthem. Anthem 'works' live.... From your lips to Geddy's ears. if only I'd take Anthem over Faithless any day, even though Faithless is a good song, but I won't hold my breath to hear Ged sing it anytime soon. The medley instrumental version was just a teaser, not sure Ged could hit those notes these days.
  2. QUOTE (Zanadoo @ Jul 17 2010, 11:56 PM) QUOTE (Tarkus407 @ Jul 17 2010, 07:01 PM) I like the song and I'm real glad they're playing it. this this again "and that's faith enough for me"
  3. QUOTE (ProfGumby @ Jul 17 2010, 12:03 AM)QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jul 16 2010, 10:32 PM) I think these days it's hit or miss. I remember during the S&A tour he sounded awesome live, but then on the DVD he sounds tired and worn out. That's why I wish they would release earlier shows in the tour instead of the last show of the long, long tour... The later in the tour the more time they've had to perfect the songs but I agree that Ged's voice is tired after all those shows. Perhaps they should pick one that is just past the middle of the tour... should have the songs down and his voice may not be so strained. P.S. "If you are not seeing the Time Machine Tour - I FART in your general direction!" Now THAT's funny!!
  4. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Jul 16 2010, 01:44 PM) Make a sign that says "Chicks." with an arrow pointing to you and any female friends. Stand in front of Alex. Repeat. I like this one!

  6. QUOTE (mong82191 @ Jul 12 2010, 11:47 PM)QUOTE (EveryNerveAware @ Jul 12 2010, 09:12 PM) My Fender fretless Jazz. My favorite bass. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/EveryNerveAware/RUSH/DSC03322.jpg sorry bud that ain't a fretless bass. Those frets are clear as day. I see you've learned about the fretless bass in subsequent posts. Mine has flat-wound strings instead of round-wound to prevent damage to the fingerboard.

  8. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Jul 8 2010, 12:01 PM)No fair! Awwww.... And the sad part is I know Geddy would love to meet you too... I mean... how many lovely ladies show up at the concert with a license plate with Ged's name on it?!?
  9. QUOTE (The_Enemy_Within @ Jul 6 2010, 02:45 AM)...met up with my pal who some of you may know as Neil's motorcycle buddy / the security guy. wow, guess it is all in who you know.
  10. QUOTE (By-Thor @ Jul 2 2010, 12:54 AM)I really can't understand the backlash against this tour. I dont think people realize that as a touring band you want to appeal to as many people as you can, and this set list has the perfect balance of the rarities as well as the classics. People are getting mad this isn't a "B-Sides" tour but how could they expect that knowing that they are playing MP in its entirety? Its such a beautiful balance of both the rare and the amazingly popular. They have to appeal to us hardcore fans just as much as people who have only seen Rush from "I Love You Man" its just how it works and I think the boys are doing a fine job! this ROCKS!
  11. QUOTE (Andrew1 @ Jul 1 2010, 02:23 AM)Time Machine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuuRxywEelU Freakin awesome... Rush has created a "time-slowing machine" for me... time will slow down between now and Oct. 1st.
  12. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jul 2 2010, 12:52 AM) It's hard admitting Counterparts is 17 years old, because that means I'm as old as dirt Seems like CP was just yesterday Then I'm older than dirt
  13. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Jul 1 2010, 10:16 PM) Love it. Im kind of amused at criticism that this isnt a "time machine" when every tour is a time machine. Songs from the "relatively recent" Counterparts are 17 years old. I love the inlcusion of Presto - waited for that forever. Camera Eye. Love it. MP in its entirety, love it. Opening with SoR, love it (its more music than visuals anyway). La Villa? A prog tour de force. Marathon? Nice. CTTH - welcome back, one fine song. Whole bloody show lovely, IMO. I will enjoy every song. So there.
  14. SET 1 THE SPIRIT OF RADIO TIME STAND STILL PRESTO STICK IT OUT WORKIN' THEM ANGELS LEAVE THAT THING ALONE FAITHLESS BU2B FREE WILL MARATHON SUBDIVISIONS
  15. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 1 2010, 01:17 AM)i decided to wait and see the setlist before deciding if i wanted to go because i got tired of the hype and talk. i won't be attending this tour but hopefully they will really put something different, more ballsy, and push it a little more for the next one. That's probably a good decision. That way a fan who appreciates anything they decide to play will have a chance to see them perform. At their ages, you never know when a tour will be their last.
  16. QUOTE (tkdryan @ Jul 1 2010, 01:13 AM)This will be my first show. I love "leave that thing alone." Great song to listen to when driving around on a sunday. Love Marathon, thats the song that got me into these guys. Cant go wrong with anything from Moving Pictures. Love Camera eye. I like it Sept 26 in Dallas. LONg time to wait Leave That Thing Alone is my 3rd favorite instrumental behind YYZ and La Villa. The bass alone in that song makes it a masterpiece. Love hitting the back roads in my Charger, cranking that song up and feeling the 10" Kicker sub pounding away to Ged's amazing bass playing. You think you have it bad, I have to wait until Oct 1st to see them. I hope these old geezers don't keel over before they make it to Oct!
  17. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jun 30 2010, 12:23 AM) QUOTE (Zanadoo @ Jun 30 2010, 12:19 AM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jun 29 2010, 11:18 PM) You would think we would have seen a pic with lasers by now! Don't you think? "You know, coming into this tour I had one simple request. And that was to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads!"
  18. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jun 29 2010, 10:24 PM) 8. Faithless 9. BU2B 10. Freewill i'll bet that was neil's decision to play those 3 together. good choice neil. Neil has excellent taste.
  19. Both songs are quite excellent. I get so much motivation from Caravan it's incredible. BU2B just makes my foot tap, head bob and play air guitar like a fool.
  20. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Apr 14 2010, 12:58 PM)The solo section of the Trees gets me everytime, makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. "Sunlight on chrome, the blur of the landscape, every nerve aware" That sends shivers down my spine. Thoughts of riding the motorcycle through the winding back-roads. Another one that moves me is... "To you, is it movement or is it action? Is it contact or just reaction? And you...revolution or just resistance? Is it living, or just existence? Yeah, you! It takes a little more persistence To get up and go the distance"
  21. Sorry to hear you won't be able to make the show. I already have 2 tickets otherwise I'd be interested.
  22. QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ May 15 2010, 11:41 PM)QUOTE (Score Out @ May 7 2010, 03:55 PM) No long medleys. At least as of the set that's being brought into rehearsals. The R30 medley was conceived pretty late in the game so a late change is always possible. if they're not playing Moving Pictures in it's entirety.....is that not gonna be a medley? Who said Rush is not playing the Moving Pictures album in its entirety?
