Correct. "Chromey" was retired in May of 1977, prior to the UK tour, where (YES!), the Black Chrome Slingerlands were used to finish the ATWAS tour.

Yes, those toms are copper wrapped (same as "Ole Number One"). Hard to tell from some of the early photos. They do appear black, or chrome, even. When Neil added them to the kit during the COS era, the did not have the chrome wrap available, so he opted for the copper. To this very day, Neil has incorporated that sound from those toms onto his future kits. If you are a member of FaceBook? We have TONS of close-up photos of the kit. Aloha, 'yall. His name is Reed Hayes, and he used to be the drummer for Rush tribute, YYZ, based out of Florida. They did play RushCon a few times. This video is from the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Austin, TX, just about a month ago. He was the 8th place runner-up in one of the recent Roland V-Drum Off contests. Reed flew in just for this opprotunity. "Chromey", the drums, have become widely known as a "wonderful piece of rock history." It is. And it sounds just as good as the day Neil gave it away.

The only known live footage from that era we know of is from Passiac, New Jersey in 1976. Do a search on Youtube for: Rush Passaic Rush on! Kozmo

Ha! That came from a bootleg!! I think Tuscon AZ, Hemispheres tour. He goes on a few times about that during the show.

Whatever you do ... DO NOT GET YOUR TICKETS FROM TICKETSTODAY!!! WARNING!!! They sell handicapped seats at presales to the general public. I was sold a pair. So were several other fans!!! I called TT and they told me it was "..okay. We do this all the time." (Yes, I got a name!!) Then it turns out, those seats were not even allowed to be sold during a presale!! After a long ordeal, and intervention from ANTHEM and Americans with Disablilties Organization, TicketsToday had no choice but to reissue my tickets. But..... ....they put me farther back. So I called ... again. So did Anthem, and someone from the AwD. Two months later, I recieved tickets that I felt were reasonable. I later filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the AWD folks! Best advice: Call the box office and speak with a manager. Also, most venues have a service that assists folks to their seats with wheelchairs. Call first!!! Good luck with future shows!!!

Its been a long time since I've last watched this. I got this in a DVD trade about 10 years ago. Kinda reminds me of Heavy Metal, the movie. But, I think this would have been better if Neil narrated it instead.

I'm surprised its taken this long to surface. I found that on a trade about 10 years ago. It reminds me of Heavy Metal. Kick ass sound track too, eh? :kozmo:

Lessons. Show, Don't Tell. Circumstances. These are the songs that came to my head. Any documentation of the previous pull-overs where it shows you were released without charges/tickets, without the removal of said decale? Although you may have fractured a law, were made aware of it, but to waste tax $ on a court appearance and you losing a days pay seems to be a much bigger offense for such a "crime". Unless this is how Phoenix brings in revenue. I say fight it!! It should be dismissed. Lesson learned. Best of luck to you! May justice prevail!!!!

Thank you for the kind words. I'm just following someones wishes. Actually, these photos were not taken by me (I was only 8 at the time). I was "gifted" a bunch (LOTS!) of unpublished photos of concerts from the Chicago area around the late 70s and early 80s by a local media photographer. I just wanted to show these first. I have been given permission to "share" them. The note I was given said, "You'll know how to let the fans' enjoy these." I think he was right. I'll finish up the 1979 photos this week. No hard ticket found among my collection. I tried looking for an image online, and did not find one. Good luck with your search. If you keep looking, you may find one somewhere. It took me YEARS to find all the stubbs from my earliest shows that I lost.
