  1. QUOTE (The Owl @ May 4 2010, 10:52 PM) Damn! Sun and Jin.......... Dead Sayid.....................Dead Frank.....................Dead at least 10 of Widmore's people..........Dead via Flocke, and Claire (who is a beast with a rifle) [RANT ON] Ok, I'm a bit pissed off about the spoiler posts without the warning. Look, I know its my own fault for looking, but I think you guys are better than this. I subscribe to/contribute to the thread all the time, so of course, I get the posts via email on my blackberry, and before I can even watch he DVR'ed episode, I'm spoiled about Sayid, Jin, Sun, etc. Its too late in this game to be pissy about something like this - its just, come on man, not everyone is up to speed yet, at least throw a SPOILER alert before your comments and let the reader opt out if he/she wants. [RANT OFF] I love all you guys, and all the input. I am just as pseudo-surprised as everyone else about the lack of answers and backstory on some rather huge elements of the recent weeks. I just finished watching last night's episode, and I'm in agreement with the previous posts concerning the plotline in the submarine. This show frustrates the hell out of me. In fact, since my wife and I typically DVR and watch a day later (to avoid the f***ing commercials HOLY SHIT CAN WE GET MORE COMMERCIALS??) and we find ourselves pausing and saying to each other "Ok, now wait..." and then proceeding to ask each other a question about something neither one of us can actually remember, even if its from only two weeks ago! I said to my wife last night - "Do you realize, we've lived in this house for 10 years (we're moving next month) and in that time, we've spent 6 f***ing years on this couch, doing the same exact thing, pausing this f***ing show and asking each other exactly what the f**k is going on?".... Its true. I had read so many blogs about the'answers' that were coming, and I'm still waiting for 85% of them if I'm being honest. yeah, cool - the whispers they hear are the souls of the people who are trapped on the island - thanks for throwing me THAT bone, but come on guys when the hell are we going to get some meaningful closure on this 6 year investment? I'm all for a bit of twist/double-twist and unexpected endings, but...come on now! Don't get me wrong, I'm bitchy tonight because I feel a bit cheated, but I dont think I'm out of line - this show is making me wish it was post-finale and I was off and watching something else, freeing my brain from this unnecessary circle jerk. As you were.
  2. Hey P-D...another awesome review. Thanks man
  3. That was nice, not mean at all. Doing the same thing for PNC in Sept
  4. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Apr 29 2010, 08:00 PM) QUOTE (toonz @ Apr 29 2010, 07:55 PM) I had that exact same question in mind when looking at Stubhub. I also wonder what kind of idiot tries to sell Lawn seats for 3x the face value when they are still available on Ticketbastard. I won't buy a ticket if I can't get the exact seat number. I called a broker in Milwaukee and they happily gave me the seat numbers. I don't want to end up on the far outer edge of a section. But that's just me... That can be dicey in these shed especially. The seats on the outer edge are sometimes very far sideways... Yes, you can be screwed by line-of-sight obstacles if you dont know the exact seat and venue setup. A seat on the far side of a section that is up close, for example, can yield an obstructed view of say Neil's kit, if the outer part of the stage has speaker pillars or video screen pillars. Very hugely important to get the seat # if you want to avoid being burned
  5. QUOTE (wrekinboy @ Apr 30 2010, 07:04 AM) I have it on good authority that they have been rehearsing a reggae breakdown in the middle.
  6. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Apr 29 2010, 03:58 PM) QUOTE (TullSkull @ Apr 29 2010, 03:00 PM) QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Apr 29 2010, 12:22 PM) Who remembers this car? All I remember is wanting one back then solely because of the flared fenders and pop-up headlights.... http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s114/jkr77/untitled-4.jpg Not a Ford Vega is it? That's not a Ford (And the Vega was a Chevy). It's a Mitsubishi Starion/Dodge Conquest. Yep, Conquest TSI. Youre up ILSnowdog
  7. QUOTE (TullSkull @ Apr 29 2010, 01:41 PM) Is that a Ford Capri?

  9. Is that a Playboy convertible? aka Midget Motors
  10. Still trying to make sense of it all, as ever. I guess my hope with this season, as loosely rumored, were getting some answers. So to that end, I'm with Half-Forgotten - 10 episodes left and I'd question how many answers we've gotten that we can actually decipher. Frustrating, but at the same time, no different than its ever been. Still enjoying and looking forward to each episode. However, I feel some patience getting thin if some basic things dont start becoming clear regarding the fundamental questions (see "Top 100 things LOST better answer or we will all be pissed") - Do we think the creators/writers can answer all questions in the final few episodes?
  11. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Feb 23 2010, 03:57 PM) Entertainment Weekly has a web show called "Totally Lost" where these 2 guys recap the previous episode, and there is a huge Rush reference in Part 2. It's hilarious. Check it. Jacob's Ladder that sir, was awesome. Thanks! Huey Lewis? Come on guys
  12. welcome Kenneth - great to have another LOST fan on the board. As for the flashes (backward, forward, sideways..) just keep watching and I will recommend a great site to you but at the same time I will warn ou of its addictive and almost certain spoiler-esque qualities....read onl as much as you dare...backwards of course, but also forwards. But some simple advice: dont ruin it for yourself and dont read too much into any one man's opinion. We're all just here for the ride after all... The LOST Blog, Film Fodder Looking forward to sharing your thoughts and observations on a great show PTA
  13. Oh hell yes. No someone shut off this damn rain
  14. daveyt - i admire your courage for the original post. around here, he'll get about as much love as Frankie Goes To Hollywood or Jesus Jones. growing up in New Jersey in the 1970's it was hard if not impossible to not have an opinion or a connection with springsteen. and given the volume of multi-week stints he would sell out seemingly every summer at Giants Stadium, it would be just as unlikely for someone from the area not to have seen him play live a number of times. as a young kid i was very into Springsteen. Probably seen him play live over a dozen times, and as a matter of fact, have tickets to see him in May as many good friends and family from the area still like his music. personally, Bruce lost me after The River, IMO his last best effort. I remember watching him open the (at the time) Brendan Byrne Arena (later, Continental Airlines Arena, now Izod Center) on June 2, 1980. The place was new and no one knew that the entire building would SHAKE when 19,000 fans jumped up and down at the same time. bruce went off on his excursion into Dylan-esque music and he lost me completely with efforts like Nebraska, Tom Joad, etc. and not unlike Bono, Bruce is another artist that needs to shut the F up and play music and leave the political soapbox stuff out of his shows. its a strong contributing factor to why i stopped listening to his music. plus, i want to hear rock, not this talk-sing crap. but, for anyone who's never been to one of his shows, hes truly the pinnacle of putting heart and soul into each and every night. he'd play for 3 1/2 or 4 hours every night, and as millions saw on Superbowl Sunday, the 59 year old still puts everything into it. just nowadays i find myself only connecting with the old material (in part because I dont know any of his new material, aside from maybe 'Radio Nowhere') Bruce is one of those artists where you can safely say that his "persona" defines his musical legacy and I guess 'The Boss' sums that up, as compared to a group of proficient musicians and self-proclaimed perfectionists. I'll see U2 this summer, as well as Bruce. I hope both Bono and Bruce keep their mouths shut and sing. And yes I will feel very old this summer, thanks for asking.
  15. QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Mar 24 2009, 05:25 PM) QUOTE (naturalsciences101 @ Mar 24 2009, 05:05 PM) Leguizamo, like many other comedians, has turned to more dramatic fare with the passage of time. I liked him in Shyamalan's 'The Happening'. He was good in that one, right? Anyone see him in Righteous Kill? Anyways....Does anyone here remember when the movies used to have moral tales woven into them? At a time in the not-so-distant past, all of our films would also deliver a moral ending, along with, hopefully, a lot of entertainment. Good deeds would be rewarded and Evil ones would be punished. Not exactly mimicking the real world, maybe approximating it, maybe striving for an ideal. But, not no more, yo. It seems that the world has flipped on it's head. A lot of the protagonists in these stories would be viewed as 'the bad guys' in the movies of old. Many of the bad guys are now cheered for and their evil deeds now go virtually unpunished. We done lost our dang minds! Sorry but The Happening is one of the most atrocious movies ever made Testy - are you insinuating that a story about the number one silent killer, rustling leaves, was attrocious?? Shame on you! Thats 3 hours I'll never get back right there
  16. Sorry its been a while since Ive been checking this thread. Been watching with enthusiasm. The wife and I have agreed to let the DVR capture the first 30 minutes and start watching it delayed due to the sheer volume of commercials. Watching 3 seasons on DVD totally spoiled us. Plus, the "pause" time gives my wife and I a chance to say things like "Ok, now wait..." and insert the random I'm-so-Lost-here-I-completely-forgot-what-I-actually-remember question. That sort of sums up this season so far. I'm definitely hooked, as Ive been all along, but its been more of a struggle to identify the "AH-HA!" moments in this season, especially the off-island stuff and now the on-island but who knows what time period stuff. SPOILERS BELOW for those who arent up to current episode I thought the Locke episode was really the best episode so far. The whole suicide/murder thing with Ben is sure to stoke future episodes when they are properly reunited. Took some time for me to understand the placement of people on the island(s) now that its clear there is a main island and another smaller island, but I saw the whole time difference thing coming before Sun & Ben landed on the main island in a different time period. The big question is obviously what now and how is she going to find her way to Jin. I think the value of having the Ajira passengers part of the story is that it helps solidify the present from the past, and in a way sort of shows how this cycle that is repeating itself (plane crashes and people find island) is repeated....for how long has it been going on? thats another great question.... We now have a 30-year gap and the tables have completely turned with Jack and Sawyer. Jack is now the confused one. Whereas Sawyer used to look to Jack for answers "Now what, Chief?" the shoe is clearly on the other foot now with Sawyer controlling the plan (and fate) of the new Dharma recruits. You gotta hand it to the producers of this show for weaving such an intricate fabric that still has you wondering whats next. I cant say theres ever been another program I have been so interested in for so long. Just roll with it.
  17. QUOTE (theworkingman @ Mar 23 2009, 06:06 PM) QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Mar 23 2009, 12:01 PM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Mar 22 2009, 09:53 PM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Mar 16 2009, 04:25 PM) I've never heard them.......and something tells me to stay far away.......... Go listen to a few of the songs I listed at the start of this thread! I had to listen to a few songs by Coldplay before I made the conclusion that they weren't for me. (To see if this is indeed true, I'm trying to find out how to listen to the entire Viva La Vida album before I make the decision to buy or to not buy.) Youtube? Torrents? You can see some YouTube stuff like THIS or even their own YT channel. I first heard about these guys back when I liked a track from a PS3 game (I think it was the original Burnout game for PS3) and the song was "I'm Not Alright (I Promise)". Looked them up and was shocked to see that they were a New Jersey band. My Black Parade is worth a listen.
  18. QUOTE (The Owl @ Mar 17 2009, 10:12 AM) That was a rough 2 weeks... phew it finally over! Is anyone else still watching... not many comments on this thread for this season yeah, just waiting for this week's episode. watched the pop-up video one from last week and have a zillion questions now but I think I have that whole "3 years earlier / 3 years later" thing straightened out.
  19. I dig several of their songs. For me it started with "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and "Helena" I did get into TBP and wore out Famous Last Words, Cancer and afew others You wont find many fans here though.
  20. just realized Lost is taking a week off. F$#*((&&*%^#$$
  21. just because. I'm sick of temps in the teens and snow and salt and grey bleakness. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s114/jkr77/discount-paxil.jpg
