  1. QUOTE (bathory @ Sep 11 2012, 04:25 PM)did eshine even remind anyone he's gay in the post he made? I didn't even know he was gay until metaldad pointed out that he was a "queen" and to the guy who made the "purse" comment, grow up. gay people aren't transgender pixie demons who go around raping dudes and spreading HIV, quit living in 1950 Wow..

Metaldaddy would never have the balls to call me a "little queen" to my face. I promise you. He'd be picking up his teeth in a second. What is this shit talk? It's called defending myself. I never once said a word to this guy but obviously hurt his feelings enough for him to call me a "little queen" Just stating a fact - he would never say this to me in person without regretting it. Surprised to hear Rush fans talk this way. Not really par for the course. Sorry. Not trying to insult anyone but I refuse to be bullied because I have a strong opinion. The o.p. is one of the whiniest things I've ever seen here. Metaldads personal attack on me was totally unwarrented. It's easy to talk sh*t hiding behind a computer. You've done your fair amount of shit talking lately too pal...

  4. QUOTE (ALifeson85 @ Sep 9 2012, 11:33 PM) Well, I for one, had NO clue that Rush has 2 setlists they are alternating every night. So I went in expecting the exact same show as Manchester...but NOPE! And I was PLEASED! Here's tonight's set... *SPOILERS BELOW!!* Subdivisions The Big Money Force 10 Grand Designs Middletown Dreams (replaced The Body Electric) Territories Analog Kid The Pass (replaced Bravado) Where's My Thing? (w/ drum solo) Far Cry -intermission- Caravan Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Seven Cities of Gold (replaced Carnies) The Wreckers Headlong Flight Halo Effect Wish Them Well The Garden Dreamline (replaced Manhattan Project - although, I actually would have preferred MP) Red Sector A YYZ Working Man -encore- Tom Sawyer 2112 Overture / Temples / Grand Finale (replaced The Spirit of Radio) AMAZING show, imo! Dreamline instead of Manhattan Project? Wow...too bad..
  5. QUOTE (Todem @ Sep 9 2012, 09:27 PM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Sep 9 2012, 05:30 AM) QUOTE (Na na na @ Sep 9 2012, 04:08 AM) QUOTE (Snaked @ Sep 8 2012, 10:27 PM)I hate to break the news to people... But whatever YOUR "perfect" setlist is... there are people who will hate it. This band has well over 170 songs in their catalog and each and every one of them is a personal favorite for SOMEBODY. There is somebody out there who LOVES Stupidconductor. There is somebody out there who LOVES You Bet Your Life There is somebody out there who LOVES Dog Years and Virtuality. If they played any of those songs (to name a few) I would be bummed out as hell.. but SOMEBODY out there would need a paper towel to clean out their undies. This is the setlist that the band wants to play.. and personally I love it. For those of you who are saying you're going to skip the tour that is certainly your choice. But I would remind you to think about 1997 and just how quickly things can change. If you never have another chance to see RUSH will you regret not seeing them on this tour... even if the setlist isn't what you personally would consider 'perfect'? This is how I feel about the set list "debate". It's not a debate, I just gave my opinion. You don't like it, that's your perogative, and you've made it clear. I don't like yours either, just to be equally clear... Treeduck...your post was fine and you saw...I was not referring to you in my "get it off my chest" ranting. It is directed at the trolls....the guys who don't have a real life that must rip everything this band does. I never...ever see anything positive ever come out of these trolls. They love to come in....get a rise out of people (like me). When it comes to the band....playing live...being a musician myself....it is comical the posts these clowns make in regards to the setlist. They don't get it.......at all. They have no clue what goes into creating, and putting together a show like this. Screw them and their so- called opinions. I can understand some fans disappointment if the 80's was not their era....but for the majority of Rush fans.....80-87 was a major major part of their Rush history....and the band was at their highest point. Between 1980 and 1987 they sold millions upon millions of albums. This type of setlist has been long overdue. And now we are finally getting it. WC and Reflected Light......are utter internet Rush Tour Forum trolls. Every Rush forum has them. They are easy to spot. They love to call out every die hard Rush fan a fanboi.......whooooooo they are so cool...there not fanbois. Blow me Please. Treeduck......no issues with your post at all. Never had any. I think I have posted enough here that most know I am long time fan, love their music, support this band and will to the day I die. Can they do wrong? Hell yeah. Not every album is a masterpiece and not every song a work of art. But live......they are amazing. And I appreciate every tour we get more and more. stfu already.....you are making yourself look like an idiot...I never said anything about you EVER.

Really? I mean really? 'They have recorded what 8 albums since. Move on. The Set List is fanfuckingtastic. As a 42 year old Rush fan who grew up during the roaring 80's golden age of Rush....this is an amazing setlist. Couple the first set with the brilliant Clockwork Angels......EPIC tour. Can't wait for November 3rd. And of course the Blue Ray of this awesome ode to the 80's period of Rush. CA has so much 80's musings with a few hints of some 70's Rush....it makes perfect sense. I am thrilled they dropped a ton of staples. The Hold Your Fire Tour was very similar. Lot's of their newer stuff back in that period sprinkled in with a few classics. Quite frankly ever since the CP tour we have been blessed with unreal setlists. f**k all the haters. Sell your tickets and stay home. (not pointing the finger at the OP at all btw) LMFAO. Some so called Rush fans are real morons. I mean really man.....get over yourselves. This band at this stage of their career and what they bring night in night out.....f***ing unreal. I am so sick and tired of seeing whining little bitches.....oh well why did they not play this or that...or this. They have over 170 freaking songs people. They have to enjoy what they play night in and night out as well. They only have room for 25-28 tunes. Get over it. People's opinions bother you that much eh? wow..... Well - he is totally right. You and folks like Reflected Light are almost begging to be roasted with your incessant bitching about everything the band does. It's tired. There are 5 albums that I don't like....and while I'm not a huge fan of this setlist, I certainly don't hate it. I guess I shouldn't be here. No - it's just that you guys make it your "thing" to rip on everything the band does. The new album is fantastic and the setlist(s) for the tour are razor sharp. Your schtick is tired. "rip" on everything?.....whatever dude. you're another one of the bois, I understand.
  8. QUOTE (Queslington @ Sep 6 2012, 08:33 PM) I really like this band. I didn't know The Tangent was a side project of Flower Kings, I've heard one Tangent song and I thought it was amazing. I picked up a The Tangent CD the other day used for a few bucks....haven't listened to it yet.

I think this is the the highest percentage of happy Rush fans in regards to a setlist I have seen to date. That's just one guy's opinion. maybe a higher percentage of fanboi's than in recent years. these polls make the bois feel good.....seems they have to prove that they are right somehow with numbers.. 13. QUOTE (treeduck @ Sep 8 2012, 05:24 PM)QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Sep 8 2012, 05:55 PM) Yeah, what they played was "old," but the problem is the very small window they selected the "old" songs from. Eleven songs, or roughly half the setlist, were songs from a nine-year period (1982-1991). And a nine-year period which most of us feel was the worst time in their long career! Put another way... let's eliminate the nine songs from the newest album and look at just the "older" songs they played. Of the 16 non-CA songs they played, eleven of them (almost 70%) were from 1982-1991! Seventy percent of the old songs were from the Keyboard Era! Meanwhile, long stretches (BETTER periods) of their career were completely ignored: nothing was played from FBN through Hemispheres, only one song from PeW, and nothing was played from CP, T4E, and VT. Yeah a total of 2 songs from CP, T4E, VT and S&A... 0 would've been better...

  15. QUOTE (Yokkov @ Sep 8 2012, 03:15 PM) So me and my brother were siting tenth row right in front of geddy last night, and there were some points in the show where we really thought he was lip-synching. First, in that part in either clockwork angels or anarchist (i dont remember which specifically) where his voice sounds like he's singing through a radio, in the concert it sounded so exactly like the studio version, and also the volume went down when that started, and back up when the regular part kicked in. Also, that really high note in headlong flight was iffy. During one of the times he did it, he moved away from the mike, and the volume stayed exactly the same. Anyone else notice this? the megaphone part is understandable I guess.....but in Headlong Flight? really?
  16. QUOTE (D3strukt @ Sep 8 2012, 03:58 PM) Anarchist is NOT lipped, I hav the bootleg. The megaphone part sure sounds recorded to me, even though he looks like he's singing it.....
  17. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Sep 8 2012, 10:39 AM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Sep 8 2012, 11:38 AM) It's a bit odd seeing the string section standing there dancing and nodding there heads in those clips, one guy was head banging a bit......Are they out there for the whole set? Even when they aren't needed in the songs? why not? NBD right? Does it distract you? not really....but I'm just not a huge fan of them having the string section. I would've preferred the overdubs....like all the extra vocals...

  19. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 25 2012, 08:54 AM) QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Aug 25 2012, 07:47 AM) Leonardo DiCaprio. People give this guy a bad rap because of Titanic. He was great in that. No, the dialogue wasn't always, or even often that good, but that didn't mean he didn't do a great job with what he had to work with. Even so, take Titanic out of the picture and you still have: Inception Gangs of New York The Aviator Revolutionary Road Catch Me If You Can The Basketball Diaries What's Eating Gilbert Grape Blood Diamond And there are other movies that weren't necessarily as great, like The Beach or The Departed, that still had great acting from him. I'm sorry, but Leonardo DiCaprio can ACT. Agree Goobs.....he has been in quite a few awesome movies....

I'm glad the P/g songs made up for it, though! DECEMBER 2ND, Y U NO HURRY ALREADY?! Yes! Body Electric is such a wild surprise. One of my favorites from the period. And Power Windows really has to be one of their best of any period. Listening to Power Windows right now...I'm so pumped about this...what an album to highlight...How was geddy's voice on these songs? Curious about that... Check out the YouTube clips.....he sounds pretty good. Is there one of Clockwork Angels? Been looking for that...lil' help? Yeah he sounds great...light show is the best I've seen Howard come up with no, haven't seen that one yet....
