  1. QUOTE (Snaked @ Jun 1 2012, 01:17 PM) Mmmmmmm! Boobies!
  2. QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 1 2012, 01:01 PM) Not facepalms...boob squeezes. It is a happy icon. That is hilarious! Officially my new way to envision the meaning of those! <--- dying of heart attack but has DNR tattoo
  3. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jun 1 2012, 01:03 PM) And why am I not surprised that in the midst of all this, you feel the need to call me out on something trivial? It's facepalm worthy because in the middle of all the great talk about the new album, someone has to beat the dead horse of playing JL in the live show. But I suspect you knew that So there is a newbie named "jacob's ladder" with <100 posts here talking about how exciting they are about all the buzz about the new tracks and all the cool fan activity here on the forums. A forum regular here who is a terrific long time poster does the friendly thing and pretty much says "Hey newbie, I noticed your name is Jacob's Ladder, that's one of my favorite songs! I'd be awesome if they play that this tour!" And the nerd twins think I am picking on them for saying it was a lamer than usual opportunity to face palm someone. You need a vacation pal. I hear Face palm Island is lovely at this time of year.
  4. QUOTE (Karena @ Jun 1 2012, 01:01 PM) I'm a little worried about having floor seats, as this is a first for us and I am really short and my boyfriend is 6'2. We both might have a problem. I know whoever is behind bf is going to be disappointed and whoever is behind me will be happy and the people in front of me will all be taller than me and in front of bf will probably be shorter than him, but bf is very polite and will feel bad about standing and blocking people's view. Everyone will be standing though. I think there should be a pre-front row for really short people, who block no one's view. I'm sure you'll have a great time and a great view! Some creative seat-swapping can get short people behind other short people if necesary.
  5. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jun 1 2012, 12:52 PM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Jun 1 2012, 10:50 AM) Ok well, I get annoyed when lazy disrespectful assholes don't stand up for Rush, but I usually just let people do their own thing, much like how I think those that choose to stand and air drum should be handled. Since people here have convinced me that people that cannot respect others should be put in their place, this next tour if anyone if front of me is SITTING I will tap them on the shoulder and tell them to "Stand the f**k up!". If they don't obey me, I will report them to security. True story. Now you're just being obtuse. At least I wasn't directly responding to one of your posts and am obviously just making a point how only the LAMEST %0.01 percent of people on the planet woukld ever ask someone to sit down at a Rush concert but yeah... Maybe I am being obtuse. At least I'm not obese. Happy Nation Doughnut Day! *fireworks*
  6. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 1 2012, 12:49 PM) Holy crap...this is still going on?! Let's face it...no matter which side you're on, you're going to think that the others are selfish. They should simply designate areas for 'Standing' and 'Sitting'. If you buy a Standing ticket, you must stand. If you buy a Sitting ticket, you must sit. Problem solved. But yeah, then there are the "ticket whiners"... "WTF! I have a presale password and the best seats I can find for SITTING are row 20 and for STANDING I see Row 11!! Standers are getting all the good tickets! What are the addresses of the guy who owns Ticketmaster and Ray Daniels so I can write nasty letters and complain"

  8. What surprises me about this is why anyone would care enough not to just wait and see? I just don't get it. For all we know this little interactions are 8 seconds long in total and simply appended to the tracks that they bridge. From listening to the samples it sounds like just that - they will be blended in with the tracks. But why would this even occur to anyone at this point? I'm all for discussing anything and everything RUSH related here, but this question just seemed a bit oddball. UNLESS OF COURSE you have obtained a copy of the CD and are trying to figure our the best way to rip it and post it! Should that be the case please accept my sincerest apologies, I was really only joking I don't think the subject matter is unusual at all and if there is ANYTHING I can do to help please let me know oh and also my email address is geddyismyuncle@swankmagazine.com.

  10. QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 31 2012, 04:23 PM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 29 2012, 11:05 AM) Just hope that you're not on the receiving end of some "heroic" cop with an itchy trigger-finger some day. Because you're completely justifying the "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality. You seem to want to celebrate it. And the guy they killed wasn't a zombie. It was a human being. Not an innocent, of course, but still a human being. People need to stop acting like this is something out of a video game. I'm reading this thread since we've been talking about these violent outbreaks at work this morning. I guess you and I disagree on a lot of things, because if police don't shoot and kill a naked man eating a living man's face in broad daylight, who exactly does deserve to be shot? Imagine being there and dealing with that situation. I can almost not think of any situation where someone is "begging to be shot" as badly as this guy was. Holy cow.
  11. QUOTE (snowdog2112 @ Jun 1 2012, 11:49 AM) QUOTE (Chicken hawk @ Jun 1 2012, 09:46 AM) I t wont play on my computer...does anyone know how to tell what im running here like windows Xp or Windows 8 ? Did you go back a few pages and just download the clip from MITA? That might be your solution. That's a great alternate solution as that link is just an mp3 file. From the perspective of "experiencing the new clips" though, I would use the widget on the Walmart page. You can digest them one at a time, savor the excitement, and know the names of the tracks you are listening to.
  12. QUOTE (Chicken hawk @ Jun 1 2012, 11:46 AM) I t wont play on my computer...does anyone know how to tell what im running here like windows Xp or Windows 8 ? If it won't play by default, that means, like me, that you are probably using an older OS, so likely XP as you mentioned. To find out for sure, you can "right-click" the "my computer" icon on your desktop and select "properties" and it should tell you. You'll probably need to do what I did which is to upgrade you Windows Media player to play these files. There is a link from the Walmart page, follow that, you may have to download their little thing to check that your copy of Windows is legit. I ran that, and it provided me with a little code that I inserted back into the Windows Media Player download page and I was off to the races! I had been putting off that crap for a looong time, but to hear this new Rush was well worth it! P.S. after installing the new media player you will need to reboot your computer.
  13. Letterman would be great. He has class and style and is obviously a late night icon. This would be great exposure for them. I like the way Letterman handling having "Die Antwoord" play on the show, which was probably a bit outside his musical comfort levels. Die Antwoord "I Fink U Freeky" on David Letterman
  14. BU2B2 is one of the more interesting pieces from a concept perspective. Whatever the main character goes through at that time, it sounds pretty dark. reminiscing about the earlier more triumphant mantras of BU2B but suddenly it's like the whole world is collapsing around him. Such interesting stuff.
  15. @snowdog2112 EXACTLY. These snippets are so mind blowingly, indescribably amazing, anyone that can take a negative out of these without having heard the rest... I agree, surprising these people bother being "Rush fans".
  16. QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 1 2012, 10:33 AM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Jun 1 2012, 09:15 AM) QUOTE (Lerxster @ Jun 1 2012, 10:09 AM) I can actually hear the strain of trying to come up with something to complain about. I think Neil was guilty of this on S&A which made many of the songs very heavy, clogged with dour cynic, depressing, annoying takes on religion/faith kind of issues. I'd probably agree with treken that there are a number of tracks on the album I can't stand because of that. Clockwork Angels however we know is an abstract conceptual piece, these lyrical snippets we are talking about do not alarm me in the slightest. IMO this album is going to be breathtaking, from the musicianship to the lyrics. Time will hopefully prove me right. The concept itself might be different and abstract, but that doesn't mean the lyrics themselves will be. I've said before at this point Rush lyrics are the least important thing to me with the things that Neil has been writing about, and how direct he is with them. It wasnt much of a complaint I made. It was just 2 lines, and then comparing them with BU2B which is also very negative and very direct, it makes me think the whole album will be like that. But I finished it on a positive saying I'm fine with it as long as the music and vocal melodies are strong. But the fanboys get all pissy like this is the first time they've been on the internet where people share their opinions, hopefully in a civil manner like I did. I have the same concerns as you do, including the BU2B lyrics. I just don't get how the two lyrical snippets would raise alarms bells for you outside of the context of a 66 minute conceptual opus. Wait and see, I think we'll both be pleasantly surprised.
  17. QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 31 2012, 10:06 PM) If you're in the back of the venue and everyone in the section is sitting except for the one douchebag standing in front of you, then yeah, you have every right to be pissed off. Close enough. You can easily extend this to whatever fantasy level suits you.
  18. QUOTE (Khan @ Jun 1 2012, 10:19 AM) I usually do the crying AFTER I punch one out... I'm just so happy we got to hear these snippets. Just what the doctor ordered! I coincidentally have a small bash happening this weekend and where a few of my friends coming over are also MEGA Rush fans, so I am still hoping for a full leak today. That being said these clips have totally satiated my appetite personally, I am so happy to have them to get get excited about, and they could easily tide me over until release day.

  20. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jun 1 2012, 09:13 AM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Jun 1 2012, 05:46 AM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 31 2012, 10:06 PM) And the people behind you who paid $$ for tickets, $$$ for a rental car and $$$$ for air fare? The people that can't see the stage? I guess you're just more important than they are. If those people are so stupid, that they go to a rock concert and are "surprised" to have their experience "ruined" when people around them stand? Cry me a river. Screw them, maybe next time they'll wait for the DVD. It's one thing to say "I get annoyed at concerts when I want to sit down but others are standing so I can't see..." but to say people who would stand are selfish and ruining it for others? Go get you head examined dude. If you're in the back of the venue and everyone in the section is sitting except for the one douchebag standing in front of you, then yeah, you have every right to be pissed off. I realize you'll never give up this crusade you are on. My point is people at concerts STAND. No matter where you sit you can EXPECT that. The better the performance the more STANDING. Don't give me your theoretical crap about "an entire section of people sitting and one monstrously drunk person standing and screaming and shouting and throwing beer around" scenario. You can expect people to be standing, so don't ever go and say your experience was ruined because people were it is to be expected. Cue that up with people who are shocked, alarmed and disappointed that they went to a Grateful Dead festival and could smell pot, or people that go to Woodstock and are flabbergastedly disgusted that chicks in the crowd were flashing their boobs. Give me a break and enough with your outlier bullshit "what if" scenarios.
  21. QUOTE (Flying Finn @ Jun 1 2012, 07:54 AM) If they have started shipping those fan packs we should get the leak very soon right? Because it means that some retailers have the album already. That is exactly what I am thinking. If it doesn't leak today or at worst case this weekend, I will be very very surprised.
  22. QUOTE (Todem @ Jun 1 2012, 08:25 AM) In my 30 years of attending Rush concerts I have never....ever been asked to sit. Ever. Must be nice to be just five feet tall! Just kidding, I am 6-6 and seldom have an issue either a small handful of times at most.
