  1. QUOTE (tick @ Dec 8 2009, 04:03 PM) Maybe people have more then there fair share of real drama in there lives these days, so they don't need this over the top bullshit anymore ? If that ain't the f***in' truth...
  2. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Dec 2 2009, 01:47 PM) Holy Crap! Just caught up on Dexter last night cause I was away this weekend. This whole Trinity thing took a new turn... although the addition of the missing 10 year old boys makes sense given his psychotic state. Good for Deb for nailing Kristine as the shooter! The look on Quinn's face was priceless... this ain't over me thinks. Tension between Dexter and Trinity is def heating up... it seems that Dexter is still learning a lot from Trinity.. a lot how NOT to be to his family. That was a touching moment between Dexter and Harrison at the end. The addition of children into the mix with Trinity made me VERY uncomfortable. There was just something about seeing a child in danger that struck too close to home and upset me. That said, it was a great episode. The whole thing with Christine was genius writing and yeah, the conflict between Dex and Trinity is shaping up for a great season finale.
  3. QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Nov 29 2009, 07:29 PM) Can't wait for tonight's episode!
  4. Took Mrs. Snow to see this Tuesday night and we both enjoyed it thoroughly. I didn't read the book, so I'd be interested to know how much dramatic license was taken with the story, but either way it was a very enjoyable 2 hours that left you feeling good. And that doesn't happen very often anymore.
  5. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Nov 23 2009, 02:35 PM) QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Nov 23 2009, 10:32 AM) Ummm....I believe a "Holy shit!" is in order... These last few episodes have catapulted this season to become my favorite Dexter season yet. I see your Holy Shit! and raise you a WTF?!!!! Ok I guess this explains why Lundy looked the way he did when Kristy shot him. Cause he either knew she was related to Trinity or maybe it confirmed his suspicions that it was Arthur who was Trinity. I can't believe Dexter just lost his shit like that and exposed himself to Trinity's family. This isn't gonna shake out well. I didn't see the link between her and Trinity. It knocked me for a loop. As far as Arthur's family seeing Dex's ugly side, it just seems to make things more interesting when Dex is in a jam. And this season is FANTASTIC!
  6. QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Nov 18 2009, 10:04 PM) I'm just about to watch Season 1, Episode 1. Wish me luck! Hang with it for at least 5 episodes. When I started watching, a friend gave me season 1 on DVD and I watched the first episode and thought, "its not bad, but I don't know if its the show for me." My friend told me that I must watch through 4 or 5 eps and then make a decision. I did, and after that I was completely hooked. Now, I eagerly wait for Sunday night to get here I'll just be very bummed when the season ends
  7. QUOTE (Mara @ Oct 30 2009, 08:28 AM) One movie that I wouldn't mind seeing a GOOD remake of is Salem's Lot. The original incarnation was made for TV and featured David Soul (Hutch) as the protagonist. I was nine when it aired, in two parts, and it scared the shit out of me. So when I was around 20 or so, we rented it. What a letdown. Aside from the fact that old made-for-TV movies don't translate to DVD/VHS/whatever well (you can always tell where it cut to commercial), it was overacted all over the place. I ruined a good childhood memory. I guess I was about 9 or 10 as well when Salem's Lot aired and it scared the crap out of me too. But seeing it many years later, it was a big, big let down for me as well.
  8. QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Oct 26 2009, 06:09 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Oct 26 2009, 04:56 PM) Great theory. I had forgotten about the watch. Nice catch. And don't forget about him stealing the money from the crime scene. So he isn't above skirting the law. That would be a great twist if it was Quinn. To further ponder about Quinn's involvement, I remember a line in last night's episode about him being first on the scene to the shooting. My gut is telling me he's either the vacation murderer, or a copycat Hey, you're right! Hmmm, first on scene? Your theory is looking good. I only wonder if the writers have planted all that as a red herring. But really, I do hope it turns out to be Quinn. That has great potential.
  9. QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Oct 25 2009, 08:10 PM) QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Oct 25 2009, 10:41 AM) My dark horse theory? I'm suspecting Quinton is the Vacation Killer. Just a nagging hunch...him stealing cash from crime scene. Being too close to all of the inside info on both cases etc...his whole pissed off demeanor...I've had a bad feeling about his character ever since he first showed up last season. But then again why would he give details of the cases to his reporter lady friend........hmmmm. Also exactly what was he telling her? What a show! Despite this being the 4th season the excellent writing has not let up at all. For some reason, I really like this idea. Quinn's always been kind of an expendable character to me. He's part of the main cast but not truly part of it if you know what I mean. If he is no longer on the cast next season, it wouldn't feel like a major loss. Not to mention that he has a shady background, and has that expensive watch (...could be from a tourist...). And now he has it in for Dexter. If Quinn is the vacation murderer, it's kind of like a reverse Doakes situation. I have to watch this show online so I won't be able to see it until tomorrow...time to avoid this thread!! Great theory. I had forgotten about the watch. Nice catch. And don't forget about him stealing the money from the crime scene. So he isn't above skirting the law. That would be a great twist if it was Quinn. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Oct 26 2009, 2:16 PM)Well I was right about Lundy being a goner... poor Deb. sad.gif I wonder what Dexter's code is gonna tell him to do now that he knows more about Trinity... Lundy was wrong about him... that was an interesting twist. I still think the Vacation Murderer is that news reporter lady. And that Dexter and Rita are def headed for some sort of split especially now she knows he still has his apartment... which was a deliberate detail maybe for next season... Good episode! common001.gif The tension between Dex & Rita will make his chase of Trinity more problematic. I think the dilemma between avenging Deb's shooter and saving his family will make for some great drama. As far as the code, Harry has made it clear what needs to happen, but Dex has been known to alter Harry's instruction before. But not this time. He wants revenge. And the eventual showdown between Dex & Trinity will make for the best episodes yet.
  10. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Oct 25 2009, 12:46 PM) QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Oct 25 2009, 10:41 AM) Finally watched ep. 4.....Best one so far! Love the scene in the washroom with Dex and the lady cop. I like the theory that it was Trinity setting up the scene at the end to look like it was The Vacation Killer (after all Deb and Lundy were at the supposed 3rd location of Trinity's next victim) but I'm inclined to think it was indeed the real Vacation Killer who did it and wasn't Trinity himself because Trinity would not have taken anything away from the victim like what happened to Lundy (the guy bending down to take what I'm assuming is cas from Lundy's pocket and his watch does not really look like an older guy like Trinity though I admit the view of him and timing was limited; looks like he moves more quickly like a younger guy to me). Remember a watch was also taken from the last VK's victim. It would be TOO obvious that it was Trinity IMO. My dark horse theory? I'm suspecting Quinton is the Vacation Killer. Just a nagging hunch...him stealing cash from crime scene. Being too close to all of the inside info on both cases etc...his whole pissed off demeanor...I've had a bad feeling about his character ever since he first showed up last season. But then again why would he give details of the cases to his reporter lady friend........hmmmm. Also exactly what was he telling her? What a show! Despite this being the 4th season the excellent writing has not let up at all. I actually had a theory that the lady reporter was the vacation killer. She could be killing these people to give herself material for a story. She was obviously just using Quin to get information from inside with the cops so as maybe to keep herself one step ahead of them. I dunno just a theory... WE FIND OUT TONIGHT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!! Great theories you guys! Makes my head spin trying to consider all the twists and turns Only 2 1/2 more hours to go til showtime I do believe Dex has overtaken The Shield as my all time favorite TV show ever.

I believe he's recreating his family's demise - ie. his sister committed suicide in the tub, which led his mom to kill herself by jumping off the building, and his dad beat him. Shooting Lundy seems too farfetched, even after their crazy run in. I think it's the vacation murderer. Lundy was in the newspaper for returning to Miami to catch a killer (Quinn's fault), and the vacation murderer probably thought he was there for him and decided to get rid of him, accidentally shooting Deb in the periphery. Having Trinity be the shooter just seems...wrong, even though hypothetically it seems so right. Hmmm....that makes sense. I can play along with that. I'm still sticking with Trinity on this one. He is trying to make it look like the vacation murderer. Since he knew Lundy was on his trail, he had to get rid of him and what better way to throw them off than to make it look like a V.M. attack? I'll bet Trinity studied the M.O. of the V.M. and staged the scene to look like it. Definitely possible. I briefly flashed on the idea that it might've been Anton too, maybe spying on Deb and getting jealous of Lundy enough to shoot him, but after being nearly almost skinned to death, I doubt he has a murderous side in him. One more day! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Hurry up Sunday!!!! Dexter is prolly the only thing that makes me want the weekend to zoom by. Dexter & Mad Men make for the best night of tv for me. Dexter followed by Don Draper...now there's a pair. At the risk of hijacking the thread, Mad Men is great and Jon Hamm is great as Don Draper/Dick Whitman. Now that Betty has found his secret stash "Game On!"

  14. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Oct 20 2009, 03:30 PM) QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Oct 20 2009, 07:29 AM) HOLY SHIT!!! I cannot believe that happened...best episode of the entire series so far methinks! I know!!! I thought something was going to happen when they were in the parking lot cause it wasn't really an important scene to put in the plot of the show and then BAM!! I think it was Trinity! Cause you never seen who it was... and I think Deb is going to be ok but not Lundy. I agree with YBT. Lundy is a goner, but Deb will make it. And I do believe it was Trinity. This is gettin' good!!!
  15. QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Oct 12 2009, 02:30 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Oct 7 2009, 04:27 PM) QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Oct 5 2009, 07:31 PM) Is it just me or does Rita keep looking more and more like a bitchy wife? She was never this much of a bitch before. Yeah, I think that Rita's character is evolving. It really needed to. She was just so bland before there wasn't really an opportunity to do much with her character but with her being a bit more [ahem] demanding, it creates an entirely new hurdle for Dex to deal with. I think its a good move. And yeah, Lithgow is really creepy, but in a good way Rita & the kids are foils for Dexter's "dark passenger" and are becoming more demanding on his time as the show goes on this season. It's an interesting arc Dexter's character is on this season: I think the strain between his two lives will become too great for him eventually. I can't wait to see how this plays out. What I'm also curious about is how & when Dex & Trinity are going to cross paths. Yeah, it'll be good when those two cross paths And so far, Lithgow hasn't had too much air time, but when he has been on, he has been outstanding.

It's hard to say....I'm guessing he already did because he had the medication for his son and did say he was on his way home to take care of his family. good observation though mort! I'm not sure about that... he was really tired and falling asleep a lot. He might have forgotten to get rid of the body. If that's what happened.. he's pretty much screwed now after what happened with his car. OMG WHAT AN AMAZING SEASON OPENER!!!!!!!!!!! That scene in the bathtub was just so horrific... I LOVED IT!!! Can't wait till next episode!!!! I just think he would've gotten rid of the body before he went to the pharmacy...who knows. I told you The Trinity Killer is a sick bastard. I'm under the impression that he didn't get rid of the body before the crash. In the preview for the next episode you see him going back to the wrecked truck and finding only one of the bags, and not knowing where the others were. Well I always avoid the previews to the next episodes so it looks like he did not get rid of the body before his mishap.... Ya that's not smart considering Lundy is lurking around. What a great season premier! I don't think he did get rid of the body before the crash. I think he'll be sorting this one out for many eps to come. Gimmie more Lithgow

Now I'm sorry I sneaked a look at the season premier, I have no anticipation for tomorrow night I'm already looking forward to next week (which I haven't seen yet) Ya I resisted the temptation to click the links my friends have sent me to see the episode. So ya my anticipation is pretty high right now!! I've told everyone... 10pm is Dexter. Don't call me, don't ask me questions, NOTHING until it's over. My eyes are gonna be glued to the television and my ass is gonna be one with the sofa. You won't be disappointed!!! Its a killer of an episode

  21. Watched it last night. Not as intriguing as the first episode of Lost was, but not bad at all. I'll be setting up Tivo for this.
  22. I think it was my 2nd R-rated movie as well (John Carpenter's "The Fog" was the first). I finally found this on DVD a few years back and watched it for the first time in 20 something years and it held up surprisingly well.

QUOTE (*Limelight* @ Jul 27 2009, 01:54 AM) I watched an episode today, my sister made me. And all i can say is: I didn't much like/ care for it. If you just jump in right now, I can see how you may not be a fan. I began with the season 1 dvd's and it makes all the difference. Seeing the characters develop, it becomes much more interesting. I'm enjoying the season so far, but I have noticed that the eps are very short. I'm seeing a running time (minus the opening and closing credits) of around 21 minutes. Kinda short. An extra 5 minutes would be welcome. The Ari/Lloyd story line is my fave of the season. Also, Gary Cole has been a good addition.
  24. Saw the season 4 premier tonight and all I can say is It was AWESOME!!
