Is there a cost to upgrade to Windows 7? 2. Wouldn't it be better to wait a little while? Isn't it usually the case when they first put out a new version of Windows that there are bugs and it's better to wait for the patches/upgrades so they work the bugs out? Back in June, MS ran a special where you could pre-order 7 for 50 bucks and I snagged it. Now, the upgrade costs $120. But, they also have a "Family Pack" that is good for 3 computers for $150. As far as bugginess, I suppose you can say that about almost any OS when it is first released. But I am loving 7 and haven't had a single problem so far (yeah, I know its only been 2 days). If Vista isn't bugging you, then hold off and wait and maybe the price may come down. But I'm a very happy Win7 user right now and glad I spent the $$$ back in June. I'll wait. $120 seems awfully steep, and honestly Vista seems fine to me... Goob, here is an article from pcworld.com talking about just what you are saying. People wondering if they should just wait until the first Service Pack comes out for 7. Thought of your question when I saw it, so thought I'd post it here for you and any others who may be on the fence.

I believe he's recreating his family's demise - ie. his sister committed suicide in the tub, which led his mom to kill herself by jumping off the building, and his dad beat him. Shooting Lundy seems too farfetched, even after their crazy run in. I think it's the vacation murderer. Lundy was in the newspaper for returning to Miami to catch a killer (Quinn's fault), and the vacation murderer probably thought he was there for him and decided to get rid of him, accidentally shooting Deb in the periphery. Having Trinity be the shooter just seems...wrong, even though hypothetically it seems so right. Hmmm....that makes sense. I can play along with that. I'm still sticking with Trinity on this one. He is trying to make it look like the vacation murderer. Since he knew Lundy was on his trail, he had to get rid of him and what better way to throw them off than to make it look like a V.M. attack? I'll bet Trinity studied the M.O. of the V.M. and staged the scene to look like it. Definitely possible. I briefly flashed on the idea that it might've been Anton too, maybe spying on Deb and getting jealous of Lundy enough to shoot him, but after being nearly almost skinned to death, I doubt he has a murderous side in him. One more day! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Hurry up Sunday!!!! Dexter is prolly the only thing that makes me want the weekend to zoom by. Dexter & Mad Men make for the best night of tv for me. Dexter followed by Don Draper...now there's a pair. At the risk of hijacking the thread, Mad Men is great and Jon Hamm is great as Don Draper/Dick Whitman. Now that Betty has found his secret stash "Game On!"

  7. QUOTE (Natural Rush @ Oct 23 2009, 02:04 PM) W7 Ultimate 64bit runs like a dream and a joy to use First post as a Win7 user and I'm liking it as well. Install went silky smooth and its been great to use. So far, I am very impressed. No compatibility issues at all. Everything worked without any tweaking at all.
  8. http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/uu133/measter99/bones-1.jpg First time reading this guy. So far, its not bad, but I hope it picks up.
  9. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Oct 20 2009, 03:30 PM) QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Oct 20 2009, 07:29 AM) HOLY SHIT!!! I cannot believe that happened...best episode of the entire series so far methinks! I know!!! I thought something was going to happen when they were in the parking lot cause it wasn't really an important scene to put in the plot of the show and then BAM!! I think it was Trinity! Cause you never seen who it was... and I think Deb is going to be ok but not Lundy. I agree with YBT. Lundy is a goner, but Deb will make it. And I do believe it was Trinity. This is gettin' good!!!
  10. I'm almost done with Pursuit of Honor, another 30 pages to go, but its your typical Flynn page turner with Rapp kicking butt. Pick it up

  13. Vince's new book dropped today. Unfortunately, amazon won't be delivering until later this week I'm chomping at the bit to get into this one, so I may go pick up a copy tonight and donate one to the local public library.
  14. QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Oct 12 2009, 02:30 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Oct 7 2009, 04:27 PM) QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Oct 5 2009, 07:31 PM) Is it just me or does Rita keep looking more and more like a bitchy wife? She was never this much of a bitch before. Yeah, I think that Rita's character is evolving. It really needed to. She was just so bland before there wasn't really an opportunity to do much with her character but with her being a bit more [ahem] demanding, it creates an entirely new hurdle for Dex to deal with. I think its a good move. And yeah, Lithgow is really creepy, but in a good way Rita & the kids are foils for Dexter's "dark passenger" and are becoming more demanding on his time as the show goes on this season. It's an interesting arc Dexter's character is on this season: I think the strain between his two lives will become too great for him eventually. I can't wait to see how this plays out. What I'm also curious about is how & when Dex & Trinity are going to cross paths. Yeah, it'll be good when those two cross paths And so far, Lithgow hasn't had too much air time, but when he has been on, he has been outstanding.
  15. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Oct 9 2009, 03:33 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Oct 9 2009, 12:12 PM) Today I added some Stone Vertical Epic 09.09.09 That's my next Stone purchase. Have you tried the Juxtaposition yet? Yeah, its very, very good, but I wouldn't say it is a world class beer. But it is definitely worth the try if you can find it. If you add in shipping I paid to get mine, it cost me about $12 a bottle, which quite honestly, wasn't worth it. But even in the stores, I think they were $7 apiece for a 12 oz bottle. To me it was kinda like a porter, but kinda not. Juxtaposition is a good name because it does kind of buck the typical classifications and characteristics.

  18. Great episode Ol' Dex had a rough day
  19. QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Oct 3 2009, 06:07 PM) So what did you think of the SN harvest, Snowdog? PTA It was good, but not outstanding. I'd buy a few more if they didn't cost 10 bucks for one 24 oz. bottle. Its classified as an IPA, but I didn't know that until after I was done and looked it up. I honestly thought it was an APA. Its worth trying if you've got the $$$ to spare and you are so inclined, but its not worth $10 IMO. I know its so expensive because they've grown all of the ingredients on the SN Estate, but its just not something I'd buy again. I'm glad I tried it, and I enjoyed it but I enjoy their regular line up just as much as this one and I can get a sixer of those for less than this one brew.
  20. Today I picked up the new SN Estate Brewers Harvest Ale. I would've picked up a few, but at 10 bucks a bottle, just decided to get one in case I'm not crazy about it. Think I'll try it tomorrow night.

It's hard to say....I'm guessing he already did because he had the medication for his son and did say he was on his way home to take care of his family. good observation though mort! I'm not sure about that... he was really tired and falling asleep a lot. He might have forgotten to get rid of the body. If that's what happened.. he's pretty much screwed now after what happened with his car. OMG WHAT AN AMAZING SEASON OPENER!!!!!!!!!!! That scene in the bathtub was just so horrific... I LOVED IT!!! Can't wait till next episode!!!! I just think he would've gotten rid of the body before he went to the pharmacy...who knows. I told you The Trinity Killer is a sick bastard. I'm under the impression that he didn't get rid of the body before the crash. In the preview for the next episode you see him going back to the wrecked truck and finding only one of the bags, and not knowing where the others were. Well I always avoid the previews to the next episodes so it looks like he did not get rid of the body before his mishap.... Ya that's not smart considering Lundy is lurking around. What a great season premier! I don't think he did get rid of the body before the crash. I think he'll be sorting this one out for many eps to come. Gimmie more Lithgow

Now I'm sorry I sneaked a look at the season premier, I have no anticipation for tomorrow night I'm already looking forward to next week (which I haven't seen yet) Ya I resisted the temptation to click the links my friends have sent me to see the episode. So ya my anticipation is pretty high right now!! I've told everyone... 10pm is Dexter. Don't call me, don't ask me questions, NOTHING until it's over. My eyes are gonna be glued to the television and my ass is gonna be one with the sofa. You won't be disappointed!!! Its a killer of an episode

  24. Watched it last night. Not as intriguing as the first episode of Lost was, but not bad at all. I'll be setting up Tivo for this.
  25. I think it was my 2nd R-rated movie as well (John Carpenter's "The Fog" was the first). I finally found this on DVD a few years back and watched it for the first time in 20 something years and it held up surprisingly well.
