  1. I feel for you RR. That must have been brutal.
  2. The Shield. My all time favorite. TV doesn't get any better.

  4. Hey, my enthusiasm for this is starting to pick up. They did a great job there.
  5. Whenever I watch SNL, Horatio Sanz steals every skit he is in. That guy is hilarious.

Just watched Sunday's ep. I've been disappointed in the last two eps. This show had really hooked me, but the last two have left a little to be desired. I've changed my mind on Walsh. Bring the guy back, he brings a nice spark to the show.

QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 1 2007, 01:57 PM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 1 2007, 12:48 PM) QUOTE (skyswing @ Jul 19 2007, 06:05 AM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 15 2007, 08:24 PM) I have tons of fave movies, but a couple that spring to mind that I try to watch whenever they come on tv: Goodfellas All The President's Men Logan's Run I don't think I've ever seen "Goodfellas" and I probably need to fix that one day. But I have done sit-down-and-watch on "Logan's Run" many times. I'm not entirely sure I understand my fascination with it. Maybe if I watch it some more I'll understand. We got "All the President's Men" on Netflix a few months back and it's excellent. I don't think I've seen it on TV to watch it in that venue recently. Dude, Goodfellas is AMAZING! I like it more than The Godfather. My wife can't stand it though. Same here on both counts, Goob! I got caught up in Goodfellas on AMC last night. I lasted through a few commercials and then I thought, "I'll just watch the dvd this weekend." Mrs. Snowdog was right there with me. She loves Gangster flicks.

They are making more???? Please tell me this is true!!! "DreamWorks has confirmed that a new 10-part miniseries from the creators of Band of Brothers (Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman), called The Pacific, is in development.[citation needed] The new miniseries will focus on the Pacific Theater. The project is due out in 2009, although this is subject to change." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Band_of_Brothers

  10. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Jul 31 2007, 07:37 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Jul 31 2007, 07:30 PM) This series was incredible. HBO did an outstanding job. I love how Sobel turned out to be a complete idiot Yes, he was a thoroughly unlikeable man. But the sentiment among the men is that Lieutenant Sobel made Easy Company. It was his unrelenting driving of the men that they all believe helped to prepare them for what they went through. Sobel was invited to several Easy Company reunions, but he never came to any. Bill Guarnere even paid his membership dues for the 101st Association in hopes that he would one day show up but he never did. In 1988 Sobel tried to commit suicide, but he botched it. He died in 1988 and his funeral was a sad affair. His ex-wife did not attend and neither did his sons or any member of Easy Company. Heck, if the man fed me Spaghetti and then made me go on a 10 mile hike (or whatever length it was) I wouldn't come to his funeral either.
  11. Drum, I never knew...Thoughts and prayers to you, my friend. I hope that you will find the right treatment to control things so you needn't worry. Possibly (hopefully) a cure will be found. I say the following not to make comparisons to your situation (or anyone's) Drum, but the only experience I have with epilepsy is with my beloved beagle in my sig. She has epilepsy and despite medication, she still has seizures on occasion and it terrifies me and breaks my heart all at the same time. I would do anything to stop the seizures. I can only imagine what it must be like for you and your family. Keep your chin up Drum, and keep fighting. If you need anything, I'm here for you.

  13. Didn't see this in the theater and have been awaiting the DVD release. I have heard from several people this is a great flick and I'll definitely pick it up tomorrow. I'll probably get around to watching it this weekend.

I just watched last nights ep. This one wasn't one of their best, imo. What did you guys think?
  15. QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jul 30 2007, 04:33 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Jul 29 2007, 03:49 PM) Robert Downey Jr. as a Superhero??? They could/should have done better than him. I think I'll wait for the DVD. I felt that way when I first heard it too. But then I seen him with the goatee and thought, WOW... he looks perfect. Now, after seeing the trailer, he may be the best casted actor ever for any super-hero. Damn... i wish this was being released sooner. I'm not even an Iron Man junkie, but this looks awesome. Thanks to Storm Shadow, I now understand the thinking behind the casting of Downey. It seems to make sense. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

I think I'll wait for the DVD. Tony Stark is sort of a bastard though, not a traditional superhero. I think he's perfect for the role. Ah, ok. Kinda makes sense now.

  18. This show has "Lost" me. I was really into it after watching the first season on DVD, but I can take it or leave it now.

    Pet Peeves

I'll steal one of Neil's pet peeves he described in Roadshow: Drivers in Florida who think the left lane is their own personal cruising lane It really is true that this situation is an epidemic here in Florida, but seems not to be an issue when I travel elsewhere.
  20. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Jul 27 2007, 03:55 PM) Looking good...looking good. I agree. I can't wait for this one.

    Pet Peeves

People in restaurants who blow their noses while sitting at their table so I can hear every disgusting sound.
  22. Its been 4 hours, did you find out yet??? I hope you're right about the trailer. I'd love to see that.
  23. Curiosity will get the best of me and I'll have to see this. I wonder how much "dramatic license" they'll take with the story? But with Keith, you shouldn't need dramatic license!
  24. Welcome to TRF And you have my admiration for suiting up in those costumes in the brutal Florida heat. Thats a tough job. I spend quite a bit of time outdoors on my job (here in Florida) and I can't imagine how hot it must be inside that costume.
