Wow, a lot of hate for Clockwork Angels!

Well sir, I'm gonna have to disagree because Test For Echo is my favorite album and I'm the TRF ambassador for it so My least fav is probably their debut. Or Clockwork Angels. Or Anything that's not AFTK-HYF + Counterparts/T4E I should have said i barely consider the debut self titled a Rush album because no Neil

Come on, you know you have that one album that you just can't get into, if not down right despise. Which one is it and why. I used to think Hold you fire was their worst. I just couldn't get into it. The whole synth thing was tired, they were in need of a change of direction. that's the album that showed it. But i've been revisiting teh 90's stuff. I always liked (and still do) Counterparts. So I held Test 4 Echo in the same light, almost as a continuation. But with a couple of recent listens, I can see how T4E just doesn't hold up. How did i not see it before? Maybe I was just in a really good place at the time and everything seemed good. So now I'm going to have to put Test For Echo at the bottom of the pile.

Moving pictures has a fair bit of synth in it. I would definately place that in the synth rock rather than prog rock. Permenant waves is the transition album.

Well, NewWho is certainly acknowledging his existence. There have been several times they've shown montages of the Doctors previous incarnations, or images of his past faces (Eg.The Next Doctor, The Eleventh Hour and Nightmare in Silver) and in every case, McGann was included. Also, since the early 2000's, he's been recording monthly audio adventures (so have the 5th, 6th and 7th Doctors, and more recently so has the 4th), so there are much more Paul McGann adventures around than you may think. Among fandom, McGann returning for another adventure is one of the most wished for things (certainly it is for me), and since we never saw how old he looked when he "regenerated", he's the only classic Doctor that you wouldn't have to explain away the actors age difference. well said depending on how you look at it. McGann was the longest serving doctor. 1996-2005. it's obvious the 9th doctor had just regenerated prior to Rose as when he looked in the mirror in her house he was noting the changes. And from 96-05, McGann had put out new media. No shows of course, but radio drama's and books, as stated above. I realy wished the had gone back to cover the 8th doctor when Tennant left. Cover the whole Time War thing....

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine- Best Garak Quotes
furie replied to AFarewellToHemispheres's topic in Video Vertigo
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?" "My dear Doctor, they're all true." "Even the lies?" "Especially the lies." "Are you sure that's the point, Doctor?" "Of course. What else could it be?" "That you should never tell the same lie twice." - Garak and Bashir discussing the moral of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" (DS9: "Improbable Cause") and my favorite: "Do you know what the sad part is, Odo? I'm a very good tailor." -
except for Vaport Trails and Snakes & Arrows i mean

the 90's wasn't the lost decade. the 2000's was mostly forgettable in terms of music

Didn't we get that with VT? I think that's as close to metal as Rush will ever get. Rush have been in the heavy mode for quite some time now. I don't mind heavy but please make it a clean production. That should be top priority. Bring back the keys for atmosphere and less layers of guitar and distortion. Keep the guitar solos and stay in the prog/kick a** mode. The only weakness I see on CA are the choruses. Make the choruses a little more accessible/ flowing and it will be a masterpiece. CA was pretty darn close. VT/S&A/CA are not metal. hard for Rush, but not a full metal album. not sure how i managed to do it but "VT/S&A/CA are not metal. hard for Rush, but not a full metal album." was my response. got mixed into the quote section...

There are still rumours (how accurate I'm not sure) that the 8th Doctor will appear in the 50th anniversary, maybe regenerating into John Hurt's character. i've heard that. which means that john hurt's character is the 8th regeneration but not "The Doctor" as he didnt take the title.... meh

i was hoping they'd back track for a while. cover the 8th doctor.
