As happy as I am that Rush is (finally) in, I can help notice and be soured by the usual WTFery of the Hall agin this year... What body in their right mind controlling the ROCK AND ROLL Hall of Fame passes over Deep Purple for Public Enemy! I'm ecstatic for Rush, but my opinion of the Hall itself has not changed.. As far as Im concerned the governing body there can (fittingly) .... BURN!

I am if course glad Rush got in (finally), but still cannot fail to notice that Deep Purple was passed over and Public Enemy gets in.... What a f***ing joke.

Getting close to season 3.... HBO just released a small "In Production" featurette for season 3!!!! I watched it, some minor spoilers...but nothing more than you would get with a trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yj0e0r_yLI I envy alot of you... "A Storm of Swords" is the best novel in the series and Season 3 is going to start adapting that material, this season (as well as season 4, which will cover the last 3rd or so of A Storm of Swords) is going to be remarkable.

The intro and outro were alright, missed the intro going into the second set, Just made it back to my seat when the music came back... (T-shirt line was long)

I can't be the only person who thinks they should take the momentum off a well received album, a major tour where they are selling out arenas more often than not, and are likely to be inducted into the hall of fame, and head back into the studio?

After several spins, I am really digging this record, blows YotBR away... however, The album feels incomplete, and for album oriented rock I am left at a musical standstill and it as a whole dosen't stand by itself... It feels like the first half a double album, and not the first part of a two album suite.... I think once part tow is out that you would need to listen them back to back to hear it proper... Listening to this without the follow up I feel is like trying to listen to the first LP of "The Wall" and having to wait a few months to finish the album... I would have waited and released the album as a whole.... then again, marketing wise Brilliant move by the band.

Just finished reading, and I have to say I really enjoyed the book, and I too was strongly reminded of the feel and pacing of the film "big fish" while reading Is it without flaws? No. But they don't ruin the book. My biggest issue is with the pace of the novel, it felt rushed. It seemed we were being shuttled along from one event to another without any time for it to sink in. And no surprise that the novel is only 290 pages long. I think if the novel was 100 pages longer the story would have flowed a lot better, and helped with further character development which was also slightly lacking. And I agree that the writing level was not at all difficult, I say I finished the book in an 8 hour time frame if not less, does that make it bad, no. Not at all. It was a fun read, and I was not expecting Tolkien or Gaiman

I have to say that after several listens, the track "Madness" has grown on me slightly....SLIGHTLY.. I hated the song when I first heard it, now I can say that I "don't particularly care for" the track... (difference between a "2" and a "4.5")... though the last 3rd of the song is very good, and keeps the track from being an outright skip.

I was reading some set reports for the filming of season 3 last week, apparently a certain notable scene has been shot, the book readers reading this thread know what scene from A Storm of Swords I'm talking about....... Yes "THAT" scene. Probably the most notable moment from the entirety of A Song of Ice and Fire. It seems that the production crew spent several days on the sequence and it will be done good justice. I really cannot wait for the reactions the show viewers only have to the moment in question Edit to add: I for obvious reasons teased something that book readers will get but would leave tv viewers nonethewiser, since this is about the show ill keep it that way outside spoiler tags. I however have started a asoiaf thread in turn the page where I could discuss this as well and go into full spoiler mode.... My prediction is that Dexter is discovered by everyone at the end of the season... and will be "on the run" during the final season... Don't know what will happen to Deb, I think she might die.
